Chapter 36: Fierce trainings
Chapter 36: Fierce trainings
"This is the most incredible day of my life! We get to receive training directly from the Alpha himself!" A young warrior, about 19 years old, beamed with excitement as they prepared for their morning training session with the Alpha.
Evelyn couldn’t help but share in their enthusiasm as she delivered the big announcement that had everyone thrilled this morning.
The joy of being trained by the Alpha was evident as Evelyn had never seen the warriors so eager for their training sessions.
"Alpha is here!" Someone rushed in and announced, causing a mix of fear and excitement to spread through the group.
"Hurry up, Peter! Let’s not irritate the Alpha on our first day," one of the warriors nudged his friend, who was still struggling to put on his shoes, and dragged him out of the dressing room.
"Good morning, Alpha. They are all ready!" Evelyn was already outside, ready to welcome the Alpha and relay the message politely.
Damien simply nodded, and Evelyn led the way to the mountains where they would train. Although they had a spacious training room, Damien believed that an unfavorable environment would enhance their learning.
"I don’t mind training in Iceland with the Alpha. I can’t wait!" A female warrior among them squealed with joy. She had heard rumors about the Alpha’s legendary abilities, and her excitement made her wake up early, breaking her own rules.
"Here he comes!"
Damien walked slowly towards them, with Evelyn leading the way. He wore a simple, loose, sea blue shirt paired with black pants.
His broad shoulders and sturdy appearance exuded a cold aura. His roughly styled hair added to his commanding presence, hinting at his military background. Despite his casual wear, the warriors couldn’t help but be captivated by his powerful yet laid-back appearance.
"Alpha," they greeted him, bowing their heads slightly, and raised their heads when he gave them the signal.
"What are all of you wearing?" As expected, he didn’t shy away from the reputation of being a critic and strict ruler. His first observation was how tightly packed they were, even though they were supposed to wear something comfortable to transform into their wolf form.
"I thought you planned on training them in combat, so I suggested they wear this," Evelyn quickly interjected, noticing his irritation with their attire.
"You think I brought them to the mountain for a sword fight? Your incompetence is a disgrace. How are you their leader?" He insulted her, his gaze full of disdain.
The warriors watched in horror as he criticized Evelyn’s decisions. While some part of them rejoiced in her humiliation, another part hoped they wouldn’t be subjected to the same treatment. Evelyn was known for her confidence and strong beliefs, often dismissing others’ opinions. It served her right.
"Take off those armors and dress casually!" He redirected his gaze to the young warriors, firmly ordering them to change their attire, which they did without hesitation.
Now in more comfortable clothing, having shed their heavy armors, they felt better prepared for the training session.
The training began, and Damien paired them into groups of two, creating fifty pairs in total. He had them duel against each other, and the winning team would emerge victorious.
During the duels, he emphasized the importance of following their instincts and working together as a team during fights. He advised them to transform into their wolf form at the right moments, and most of them followed his guidance, gaining the upper hand.
After intense battles, only one team remained out of the initial hundred warriors, forming the final pair.
"Yes, we won!" It was a pair consisting of a young male warrior, around 18 years old, and a young woman, about 19 years old. Their skin had marks and traces of blood, a testament to their fierce determination to win.
Exhausted but elated, they yearned for rest but couldn’t take a break until the Alpha declared them the winners.
However, their hope was short-lived when Damien said, "You have one more duel to fight, and it’s with me." Their jaws dropped in shock, never expecting that they would have to face the Alpha himself in a duel, knowing how formidable he was.
They had never faced an experienced werewolf in a real battle, let alone an Alpha. Were they being pushed to their limits?
"Alpha, we can’t defeat you," the female warrior voiced her concern, stepping back.
"Of course you can’t. Rome wasn’t built in a day," he smirked devilishly, raising an eyebrow challengingly.
The two warriors exchanged glances, weighing the consequences of facing the Alpha. They were already out of breath, and taking on the Alpha seemed like creating disaster.
Damien relished in the sight of their helplessness, he always loved seeing people in loss. They needed to be trained vigorously or they wouldn’t stand a chance with the big leagues. He knew they still had years to come, but they needed to be trained for the pack for the coming of the impending threats from other packs.
"A wolf never surrenders," the male warrior said, placing his hand reassuringly on the woman’s shoulder, who nodded back with determination. Life was full of risks, and they were ready to face the challenge. After all, what was life without risks?
"We will do it," the female warrior declared, shocking everyone except Damien. Damien could see the fire in her eyes and it only took a spark to unleash it. He was going to be that spark and show her what being a real warrior was.
"Are they trying to get themselves killed?" Murmurs of pity and astonishment spread among the other warriors as they watched the unfolding drama.
"Poor team, they should just surrender." Another person mused among the warriors and shook his head dejectedly.
"I believe in them, you guys should stop being pessimistic," rolling his eyes, another male warrior waved off the negative murmurs.
"Let’s do this!" The pair chorused, positioning themselves to face Damien.
As they fought, Damien received their attacks, easily dodging their moves. The female warrior lunged at him, but her punch was effortlessly blocked, and she was thrown back.
"Ahhhh."
