Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night
Chapter 34: Angered Williams

Chapter 34: Angered Williams

After Damien managed to calm his emotions, he left Aurora’s room with Enoch. Despite Enoch’s persistence, Damien refused to be treated before the meeting with the Elders. As a result, they had to call the pack doctor to attend to Damien while the meeting took place.

During the discussion about the attack, one of the Elders expressed their anger, stating, "He won’t stop until he’s dead." It was evident that they were all aware of the growing animosity between the boss, Edward, and Damien.

Edward wouldn’t risk confronting Damien unless provoked, as there was a deep-rooted conflict between them. They used to be business friends until an unfortunate incident occurred that prohibited any discussion of it.

"Alpha, perhaps it’s time to address the past incident?" Evelyn suggested cautiously, making sure not to sound authoritative to avoid further angering Damien.

As the pack doctor silently worked on Damien’s left arm, the anger emanating from his body was palpable. The doctor’s hands trembled as he wrapped the bandage around Damien’s arm. Observing this, Enoch stepped forward and took over the task, relieving the doctor from his duties.

"Leave," he ordered the pack doctor, who quickly scurried away, still trembling from the frightful encounter.

"Who could have leaked your location? Most of us here were unaware of your departure from the mansion," Williams, Aurora’s close friend and the youngest among the Elders, asked. Damien disliked being monitored, so how was it possible for them to locate and attack him so easily?

"It could have been from the ballet show," one of the Elders suggested, deducing the most plausible answer.

"What about her? Could she be a spy?" Evelyn suggested, provoking Williams. Aurora had been in the mansion long before Damien’s return, so why would she harbor hatred towards the Alpha and want him dead?

"Leave her out of this. She’s currently unconscious. How can you frame her?" Williams warned, his eyes filled with rage as he glared at Evelyn. The idea of framing a victim was unfathomable to him.

"What? She could have injured herself to make it seem real. No one should be trusted. Besides, the Alpha barely knows her. How can you be so sure?" Ignoring his warning, Evelyn continued, further infuriating Williams.

"Well, I have known her for five years. I trust her and know what she’s capable of!" he sneered at Evelyn. Evelyn always acted superior, like a self-proclaimed goddess who knew everything, which always irked Williams.

Her approach had become even more bothersome since she became the leader of the warriors, causing most people to dislike her.

"Don’t make this personal. Use your brain for once!" Evelyn shouted back, standing her ground.

"That’s why you and Dave couldn’t be together. You think using your brain makes you perfect, huh? I hope you remain single, narcissist!" At that moment, the playful Dave entered the room and was fortunate enough to overhear the conversation about him.

"Did I come at the wrong time?" Dave interrupted their argument, causing Evelyn to retract her words.

No matter how hurt she was by the past, Evelyn refused to admit her own fault in how her relationship with Dave ended. How could she trust someone who had dependents and could leave her if the opportunity arose?

"Now that you both have regained your senses, Evelyn, have you selected the pack warriors for training?" Damien inquired.

"Yes, Alpha," she confidently replied, having carefully chosen those who would make excellent warriors based on Damien’s instructions to their parents.

"I will personally handle the morning training sessions. We start tomorrow. Prepare them before I arrive," he announced, surprising everyone.

It wasn’t uncommon for the Alpha of a pack to oversee training, but it had been a while since they had a warrior trained directly by their Alpha. Perhaps it was good news for the pack, as the warriors would receive exceptional training.

"With the successful attack executed by Edward, I am afraid there is an enemy we should fear," Enoch said, extending his tablet to the Elders.

"I knew Edward didn’t act alone," proudly stated the Elder who had previously pointed out that fact.

"We have enough warriors to dismantle his pack. Alpha, give us your command," Evelyn urged, her fists clenched in anger upon seeing the troublemaker’s identity on the tablet.

"No," Damien disagreed.

"But this is the perfect time to strike, catching him off guard," Evelyn argued, attempting to convince Damien to let them eliminate the troublemaker.

"What about innocent lives? Besides, do you think he would willingly reveal his involvement?" The others grew furious upon hearing Damien’s words. It was indeed suspicious how they had identified the instigator so quickly when Edward had been the one sent.

"It’s a trap," Enoch warned.

"We wait. After all, breakfast is best served hot," Damien said, wearing an evil smirk that hinted at his cunning. They all recognized that look on his face, it meant serious business. Whenever he wore that expression, he likely had a plan that none of them could fathom.

Still annoyed by the previous banter with Evelyn, Williams remained silent until the end of the meeting. When their gazes met, he could not see a hint of remorse in her eyes, it was her usual arrogant aura.

Perhaps she had become a warrior leader because she lacked empathy.

No one else dared to question Damien’s decision, and they all dispersed, fully aware that he had everything under control.

"Foolish bastards!" Damien cursed, exhaling smoke as he gazed out the window, lost in thought.

"I would appreciate it if you shared what’s on your mind beforehand. What if she had died?" Enoch’s mention of Aurora dampened Damien’s mood. He extinguished his cigarette and turned to face Enoch.

"She’s not dead, is she?" he replied nonchalantly, unbuttoning his shirt.

Enoch realized it was futile to try and decipher Damien’s thoughts, as he always kept most things to himself. He was like a vigilant hawk with keen eyes but no voice. He was exhausting to be around.

Damien knew everything yet acted as though he knew nothing. Enoch worried for Aurora, knowing she would be entangled in Damien’s complicated life, a rough journey lay ahead.

"Why are you involving her?" Enoch asked.

"You seem unusually curious lately. Is it old age?" Dismissing his question, Damien teased before discarding his bloodied shirt.

"Please excuse me. Unless you want to join me for a shower, which I wouldn’t mind," he said, not waiting for a response as he walked into the bathroom to freshen up.

Enoch sighed and left the room shortly after.
