Chapter 177: Mate Pull

The man she detests the most is here with his supposed mate, could it be a coincidence? The fact that Lucas is her former mate, and Damien is now her new mate gives her a headache. How was she going to tell Damien everything? Would he be fine with knowing about her ugly past or would he despise her?

Sighing, she ran her hands through her head in a frustrated manner and screamed. No, this was not how she planned everything, what was happening to her?

"Aurora!" Suddenly, a familiar voice called for her which made her feel disgusted. Why was he here again? It was funny how she would feel excited whenever he called her before the incident. Now, his voice only irritated her and she wished he could disappear.

Acting as if she didn’t hear him, she took to her feet and faced the other way to walk out of the garden. It was better to avoid him rather than let him trigger a bad past.

"Aurora, did you tell Damien about us?" The next question made her halt, her hands clenched into fists. It was the audacity for her, US?

"Alpha Lucas, you are not a stupid man, it would be advisable for you not to act rashly. There is no us, I have no idea what you mean," turning towards him, she corrected him, and stared at him deathly. She badly wished to poison him, seeing him only irks her more. To think he was still shameless after all these years, people rarely change, don’t they?

"I know you are angry, but you can’t deny what happened between us. Disguising as Damien’s mate is not the best solution, he doesn’t love you." He started, moving closer to her, in an attempt to reason with her.

"Love? Do you dare talk about love? Are you saying you love me?" Sarcastically, she asked, her smile mischievous as she awaited his response. The man who couldn’t even identify his real mate was talking about love. The man who easily abandoned his mate is talking about love. The man who slept with another woman, while he had a mate, is talking about love.

"Aurora, it took me so late to realize I loved you, but I did. I never forgot you," he said and she burst into laughter.

"Alpha Lucas, you should try one of those comedy shows teenagers upload on social media. Have you been practicing these lines since yesterday?" She asked and dusted her gown funnily, indicating she didn’t take him seriously.

Frustrated, Lucas harshly grabbed Aurora by her shoulders and made her gaze at him.

"What are you doing? Let me go now, bastard!" Unbothered about someone overhearing her call the Alpha a bastard, she cursed, struggling against his hold.

"You know what I truly want to know? If truly you loved me, why didn’t you fight back? Why didn’t you beg me to at least make you my mistress? Why didn’t you beg for my mercy?" He asked, his voice low yet cold.

"Over my dead body will I ever beg for love from an ignorant man? You slept with your supposed mate while our wedding preparations were ongoing, and I was the one accused of infidelity. Is life not so unfair?" Staring back at him, she said, smirking in a way that hurt his pride. He hated that she was right, but he did it because she wanted sex after marriage.

"I slept with women before I met my mate, why does it make any difference?" Still justifying his actions, he defended.

"The difference is you already had a mate when you fornicated, but of course, an Alpha is allowed to sleep with as many women as he loves." She said and he finally let her go.

"What is going on here?" About to reply to her, Damien interrupted them and moved closer to Aurora.

"Your mate has something to tell you," directing his gaze to Aurora, Lucas said and Aurora panicked.

"Alpha Damien, I have something to tell you in private." Improvising, she said and Damien nodded his head in understanding.

Lucas wasn’t even going to hide the fact that he knew Aurora, then that meant he wouldn’t have to stress himself for the truth. Grabbing her wrist, he turned his body and walked away, ignoring Lucas completely.

As they walked away from the garden, the intensity of his grip on her wrist indicated that he was furious about something. She knew it was because of the position he met her and Lucas in, and he had the right to be mad.

"I...Damien," she started, about to talk but he tightened his grip on her in a manner to shut her up, and took a turn towards the direction of his room. He didn’t wish to hear anything from her, or he would be forced to unleash his anger on her.

"You are hurting me," she winced, her eyes getting teary from the tight grip. Damien’s heart ached when he felt her emotions but he was too furious at the moment to consider her feelings, so he didn’t turn to look at her.

Getting to his room, he dragged her in and locked the door after him.

"Damien, it is not what you think? Let me explain myself," she said, wanting to pacify him but Damien was having none of it.

"Explain what? How he grabbed you with his disgusting hands?" He sneered.

"Damien," moving closer to him, she dropped her head on his chest and called. Strangely, that act calmed him down and he found his heartbeat slowing, he was starting to feel better.

"I am sorry," she softly apologized, her words muffled from crying. He suddenly felt bad for making her cry and wrapped his hands around her for a hug.

"Aurora, the mate pull is getting stronger. I couldn’t control my anger earlier," he whispered against her neck, causing her to finch.

"I want you, take me."
