Arriving at the mansion, Damien found Aurora peacefully sleeping in her room, just as he had been informed. The serenity of her sleep momentarily unsettled him, making him fear that she might actually win their bet.

In truth, Damien wasn’t entirely certain that her love for him alone would be enough to make her stay. He doubted if it was a tangible reason to convince her. Seeking assistance, he consulted his mother, Theresa, who provided him with ideas on how to approach the situation.

This invitation was part of the plan, but it didn’t seem to be working. Was she too fatigued, or did she have no inclination to visit the Phantom Hills? How else could he make her stay, if she wasn’t going to yield?

He was planning to find out about her former mate, maybe it could help understand her properly. When they got back, he was going to task Enoch with that job.

Approaching the bed, Damien positioned himself beside the bedpost, observing her with a blank expression. A small drool near her cheek amused him, realizing that his mother must have worn her out, evident from her exhaustion.

Opting to wait for her to wake up before heading to the Phantom Hills, Damien settled into a chair at a distance from the bed, keeping a vigilant eye on her, not wanting to miss her awakening.

Turning and shifting, Aurora luxuriated in the comfort of the nap she had just taken. Stretching her arms and yawning, she contemplated the need for a meal before setting out to find Scarlet.

This nap turned out to be the best she’d had since entering the mansion. Perhaps Luna wasn’t all that bad, she could indulge in naps whenever she pleased. Considering the benefits that came with the position, she entertained the thought for a moment.

"Did you sleep well?" Damien asked, his tone sharp and seemingly annoyed. She wondered if it had anything to do with her, given his liking for teasing.

Sitting up, she got out of bed, standing in front of him with her best smile, completely oblivious to the drool on her fair cheeks.

Damien, annoyed, found it hard to stay stern as she looked cute with the drool. Even in her attempt to appear formal, she had some endearing flaws that drew him closer.

"Yes, Alpha. You should have woken me up," she responded in a polite tone that he disliked, bowing in courtesy.

"I see. No wonder your cheeks look so wet," he remarked, standing up and casually placing his hands in his pockets, focusing on the drool.

"Thank... Wet? What do you mean, Alpha?" She began to express gratitude but then realized it was more than a compliment. He should have said "shiny" instead of "wet." What was happening?

"Ladies first," he said, gently moving aside and extending his hands towards the mirror, encouraging Aurora to step forward.

With a hint of anxiety, Aurora cautiously advanced, casting a wary glance at Damien, expecting another round of teasing.

Taking a deep breath, she turned her gaze to the mirror and gasped at the sight of drool on her cheeks. Embarrassment washed over her, and she turned her face away from Damien, feeling foolish for not realizing it when she woke up. How hadn’t she noticed?

"You look cute with it, don’t be shy," he teased, moving closer. When Aurora saw him leaning towards her face, she exclaimed, "Don’t!" and stepped away, twisting her mouth in embarrassment.

He seemed to revel in her discomfort, explaining why he was so eager to assist her. "As Milady pleases," he responded, chuckling.

Rolling her eyes, she used the tissue to wipe off the drool. Once satisfied it was gone, she walked to the room’s dustbin and discarded it. Brushing off the humiliation, she exhaled deeply and turned to face Damien, smiling as if nothing happened.

Approaching him, she bowed slightly and said, "Thanks for letting me know, Alpha."

Instead of a reply, a snort escaped him, and she looked up to find an amused expression on his face. What was making him laugh when she had wiped off the drool?

"A kid would do better than you did," he commented. Before she could respond, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards the mirror. He turned her body to face it while he stood behind her, holding her shoulders to prevent any resistance.

"What do you think?" He asked, winking at her through the mirror, relishing in her discomfort.

"Can you let go? I will take care of it," she requested, slightly annoyed, but Damien enjoyed her irritation.

"You need a better view, so no," he refused, maintaining his position at her back.

Ignoring him, she grabbed a tissue and started wiping off the drool, realizing she hadn’t cleaned it at all.

Throughout, Damien couldn’t resist getting closer, his right hand sliding down to her waist, eliciting a gasp from her. Leaning forward, he buried his nose in her hair, inhaling her scent, which stirred his wolf.

Feeling uneasy, she muttered, "I...am..done," her voice betraying her intentions. Shivering under his touch, she couldn’t deny the pleasant feeling he invoked. She knew she had to keep such thoughts to herself, he must not find out.

"I am not," he whispered, biting her earlobe, causing her to flinch.

"How about we have a little fun?" He suggested, moving his hand towards her stomach, tracing lines that stirred desires within her.

"We... Phantom...Hills," her thoughts were interrupted, their close proximity complicating the situation.

He smelled so fresh and manly that she wished to seek comfort in his embrace.
