Chapter 163 163: The Mastermind.

Leo was inside the hospital sitting beside Fragrance, the girl had just taken some medicine upon his insistence and she had fallen asleep. The door of the room was knocked and Leo said, "Come in."

Kyle came in with a cold face, and said, "We have the report from the investigation, it is not good."

Leo raised his brow and asked, "What do you mean it is not good? Tell me what is going on and be done with it in one go."

His tone was cold and Kyle knew that Leo was angry. He took a deep breath and said, "Sir, Walder seemed to have hired a few ex-cons and paid them to intimidate a few families that were going to testify against him. However, the ex-cons were drunk and when they reached the family's residence, they hit someone from the family three days ago.

Miss Optimus filed a police complaint and got two convicts arrested before she also applied for security of the three families. However, the cops were slacking and they delayed the deployment of the forces.

The convict who managed to escape the hunt navigated back to Miss Optimus and he did this to her. We are looking for him."

Leo nodded and said, "Mobilize the southern street, I want that bastard before me by sunrise and I want him unharmed. He is mine to handle. Locate Walder Trei for me as well."

Kyle nodded and said, "I have called over two guys to stand outside the door to guard for the night."

Leo waved his hand as he clenched his right fist and it issued cracking sounds. Kyle was shocked and then he quickly left the place. Leo controlled himself very well, had it been someone else, they probably would have used their power to punish everyone who tried to stop them.

Leo sat on the stool beside the bed with his hand resting on the bedside, and his eyes closed as he trained inside the virtual realm. After another couple of hours, Kyle came back and said, "Sir, we have the goon who did this, he is a martial arts master, I had to act personally, three guards from the South Street are injured."

Leo nodded and asked, "Where is that man kept?"

Kyle replied, "South Street Club, the basement has been sound proofed and turned into a proper holding facility."

Leo nodded, and he stood up from the chair as he looked at Fragrance, and said, "Call the doctor, I want to see if we can take her to see how we handle the situation."

Kyle was surprised but then he nodded. Leo leaned over to gently pat Fragrance's palm, and the young lady opened her eyes quickly. Leo smiled and asked, "Do you want to see how I deal with the man who did this to you?"

Fragrance shivered, and Leo said, "Don't worry, with me there, no harm would come to you."

He decided that when he gets back home, he would be creating a Heather & Daisy amulet for Fragrance. At the same time he would scour through the system shop to find out a way to solve her scars completely. Although Fragrance didn't mind how she looked, as a girl she deserved to look as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside.

While Leo was thinking about all this, Fragrance said, "Can you make sure that he doesn't see me?"

The young man nodded and replied, "Yes, I will make sure that he doesn't see you, but you have to promise me that regardless of what I do there, you will see it through. Do you understand? You don't want to live in fear forever, right, miss Sunshine?"

Fragrance thought for a bit, it wasn't an easy decision, but she knew that what Leo said had its merit and she nodded in agreement.

At this moment, the doctor came inside with Kyle beside him, and the doctor had a complicated look in his gaze. Without waiting for Leo to speak, the doctor said, "President Cardinal, I am sure that you have your reasons to take Miss Optimus outside the hospital, but is it really that important? Her stab wounds are still tender, and if she moves too much, they might bleed."

Leo replied, "I assure you doctor, she will not suffer even a little bit with me, and we will be back before sunrise. You can send an ambulance to escort us to the destination."

The doctor sighed and said, "The ambulances cannot be mobilized like this, but if you can take a nurse with you, I would be at ease."

The young man nodded and said, "Good, assign the nurse you wish to accompany us, I will pay her additional money."

The doctor shook his head and said, "That is not needed, Sir. It is only our duty."

Then he left the ward and soon a young nurse came inside. She was wary of the situation and then she sighed as she said, "I don't understand what could be so urgent that you have to take her out in this situation, Sir. I apologize if I sound rude, but if I see the patient suffering even the slightest discomfort, I will be taking her back here right then, and I hope you will not make things difficult for me."

Leo nodded, as he watched the young nurse handle a few things and she said, "We will push the bed to the basement where you can transfer her in a car."

Leo agreed and gestured at Kyle to bring the car around. The night time had pushed the hospital t the quieter side and they took the elevator without interruptions and Leo smoothly moved Fragrance to the back of the car. He was careful and gentle in his handling, making sure she didn't suffer much. After getting inside the car, he said, "Kyle, I will drive, you inform the people about our arrival."

Kyle nodded, and said, "Yes, Sir."
