Chapter 48: Chapter 48: It’s the Young People Who Know How to Play!_1
The tranquil night sky carried a slightly chilly breeze that was gently blowing. The clouds had finally dispersed. Under the charming moonlight, at the base of No-Sword Peak, two figures seemed to be stuck together like worms on the snowy ground. The moonlight shimmered like ripples on a lake, and Su Bei’s hand was pressed in a most ill-timed place, causing Dan Wulan beneath him to frown tightly, a blush creeping onto her cheeks.
Truth be told, he had not expected this icy woman to be as tender as tofu. Hmm, a completely different feel from Eldest Senior Sister...
After that, Su Bei became somewhat flustered.
Of course, the reason for his unease was definitely not because of his and Dan Wulan’s ambiguous position. Nor was it because of the somewhat unusual expression on Dan Wulan’s face. What in the world is going on at No-Sword Peak tonight? Su Bei felt like crying. Why would Eldest Senior Sister come to my No-Sword Peak in the middle of the night instead of sleeping? Counting Xiao Ruoching, who was sound asleep in the thatched cottage, that makes four women... enough for a game of mahjong!
Dan Wulan looked at Su Bei, her eyes brimming with an unspeakable sense of satisfaction. However, she quickly noticed the figure speeding towards them through the air.
"Eldest Senior Sister?" Su Bei hurriedly scrambled off Dan Wulan.
Dan Wulan frowned, her breathing slightly hurried. A chill flickered in her eyes, set upon her ice-cold face. Slowly getting up from the ground, she straightened her somewhat disheveled clothing.
Damn it! Why did Eldest Senior Sister come to No-Sword Peak in the middle of the night? She couldn’t possibly be interested in Fifth Senior Brother, could she? That jinx of a woman, why did she have to come and stir up trouble? If she hadn’t interfered, would Fifth Senior Brother have gotten off me? I clearly felt Su Bei’s heartbeat quicken! I even faintly sensed that Su Bei’s ’Optimus Prime’ seemed to be stirring. And my bodice was already halfway undone... If she hadn’t come, would I have been able to use my tail soon? If she hadn’t come, would I have a little Su Da in ten months? If she hadn’t come, would I...? A look of undisguised resentment appeared on Dan Wulan’s face, and her icy eyes glinted with boundless murderous intent.
Having just gotten to his feet, Su Bei looked up and saw Dan Wulan’s piercing gaze. His body subconsciously shuddered. Damn it... I’ve really infuriated this woman! Dan Wulan’s glare is clearly meant for me! There’s no one else here, so it can’t possibly be because of Eldest Senior Sister... It’s over! I’ve lost the bet! Ninth Junior Sister isn’t going to sacrifice herself to preserve her own purity, is she...? And now, with her clothes so disheveled, and that lingering blush on her jade-like neck... Anyone would misunderstand!
Su Bei calmed the turmoil in his heart. He calmed his ancestral DNA. Calm down! The most important thing now is to remain calm! I must project the air of an expert; that way, my corpse will at least look a little more presentable!
He took a light breath. The sound of Eldest Senior Sister slicing through the air reached his ears, seeming to draw closer and closer to No-Sword Peak. With his hands behind his back, Su Bei looked at Dan Wulan with a calm expression and said, "Junior Sister, just now, I... I really did it on purpose!"
Dan Wulan: "..."
Hidden in the haystack, Dan Wuque: "..."
"Cough, no, I mean, just now, I really didn’t do it on purpose!" Su Bei corrected himself. "My foot slipped, and I stepped on a stick."
"..."
Under the bright moon, Su Bei stood calmly, facing the furious Dan Wulan. Cloaked in a moon robe with an Azure Crown, hands clasped behind his back, he appeared as if pristine jade emitted smoke. Inside, however, he was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan! When Eldest Senior Sister gets here, how am I going to explain this scene? I absolutely cannot end up in prison!
Dan Wulan was fuming. The corner of her mouth curled into a cold sneer as she looked at the overly serious Su Bei before her and snorted. However, seeing that Wenren Pingxin, that jinx, was about to arrive, it would be difficult to explain if she were discovered on No-Sword Peak! After all, her usual image and persona couldn’t be ruined! It looks like I have to hide...
Dan Wulan’s eyes scanned the surroundings: under the luminescent moonlight lay a scorched, dead tree, an iron sword on the ancestral grave, a ramshackle pigsty, and... that perfectly intact haystack! It’s decided. You’re the one! Dan Wulan’s eyes brightened, and she quickly moved her slender, jade-like legs, running towards the haystack.
Su Bei’s heart leaped into his throat as he watched Dan Wulan’s actions. He saw her figure dive into the haystack.
Subsequently, the sharp whooshing sound from the heavens finally descended.
A bitter taste touched Su Bei’s lips. Despairingly, he closed his eyes, letting the moonlight fall upon his lonely, desolate heart...

...
Under the moonlight, Wenren Pingxin descended exquisitely atop No-Sword Peak. She was dressed in thin gauze, with an embroidered moon-colored outer shirt fluttering gently in the breeze. Her eyes, carrying a trace of allure, held a languid air as if she had seen through all worldly matters.
Then she saw Su Bei standing quietly in front of the Qingping Sword, his eyes closed. Immediately, a look of puzzlement lingered in her eyes.
What is Junior Brother doing? Training? Could it really be as he said, that he cultivates tirelessly day and night?
Wenren Pingxin’s beautiful eyes shifted. She walked toward Su Bei, thoughtfully examining the messy footprints on the ground. Then, she leaned close to Su Bei’s ear and whispered, "Bei Bei, what are you doing?"
The familiar scent of Wenren Pingxin wafted into Su Bei’s nostrils. With her face so close to his earlobe, Su Bei could feel a strand of her hair lightly brushing against his ear. It was somewhat itchy.
Su Bei sighed and opened his eyes. Looking into those eyes just inches away, he said with a bitter tone, "The ancestral grave at No-Sword Peak is gone. Your junior brother is pondering where to bury his own ashes later!"
"..." Wenren Pingxin’s brows furrowed tightly. She stepped back and scrutinized Su Bei with a bewildered expression. Has Junior Brother lost his mind?
Wenren Pingxin shook her head softly. She couldn’t figure it out! After all, Su Bei was peculiar in so many ways; this was just one more oddity.
Then she patted Su Bei’s shoulder and said, "Bei Bei, today I visited the Sword Concealing Pavilion! I looked up some information related to our Sword Sect’s Treasure, the Qingping Sword!"
"..."
Wenren Pingxin stood with her hands behind her back, gazing at the clear night and bright moon, then toward the haystack not far away. Instinctively, her eyebrows twitched. She lowered her head to look at the messy footprints on the ground and at the piece of clothing on the haystack. A meaningful smile appeared on her lips. Then, she leisurely turned around and walked toward the Qingping Sword.
I’m getting old. Young people these days really know how to have fun!
