After Divorcing the Tycoon, I Married into a Wealthy Family Again -
Chapter 28: Calling Husband
Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Calling Husband
The old man went in first, Florence Fuller and Luke Gardiner got out of the car one after the other, and the old man glanced around the hall: "I’ll stay on the second floor, you two lovebirds will stay on the first floor."
There’s only one guest room on the first floor.
"Take a rest now, both of you are coming fishing with me this afternoon."
Florence Fuller and Luke Gardiner followed each other into the room on the first floor.
The room had the typical hotel layout. After entering, Florence opened her suitcase and took out her clothes one by one, hanging them in the closet.
Luke also wanted to hang his clothes. He put one up and directly pushed Florence’s clothes aside, freeing up a large area for himself, causing the clothes Florence had hung to be squeezed tightly together, and most of the closet belonged to Luke.
Florence gave him a cold glance and pushed her clothes back.
Luke pushed them over again.
"You’re so annoying!" Florence said.
"You mean you can hang your clothes but I can’t?" Luke replied.
"How many clothes do you have anyway." Florence reached out and directly pushed her clothes to the side: "Come on, hang them all! If you can’t fill it, you’re a grandkid!"
Luke looked at the empty closet and then at the few clothes in his suitcase.
He hung them up: "I’m not a grandkid." He looked at Florence proudly: "You’re the one, always trying to take advantage of me."
Florence couldn’t be bothered with him, picked up her toiletries, and went into the bathroom.
"What’s with the attitude." Luke mumbled, finished hanging his clothes, looked at the sparsely filled wardrobe, glanced at the bathroom, scoffed, and left the room.
Soon he returned, took out the clothes Florence hadn’t finished hanging from her suitcase, and hung them up one by one.
He just didn’t want to fight with a woman over closet space.
Florence came out of the bathroom, her clothes were hung up and her suitcase was tidied, Luke was sitting on the sofa eating fruit: "No need to thank me."
Florence smirked.
At two in the afternoon, Uncle Andre knocked on the door saying it was time to go fishing.
Florence changed into a casual outfit, tied her hair into a high ponytail, looking neat yet bright.
The old man really liked fishing, at the place Florence hadn’t even taken out her fishing line when the old man already got a catch, he seemed to see that Florence was clueless: "Florence, have you ever fished before?"
Florence thought for a moment: "I have."
Luke turned his head to see her fishing line tied in knots, the tone was full of deep suspicion: "Fished before?"
Florence ignored him.
Uncle Andre wanted to go over to help, but the old man held him back and whispered: "They’re here to strengthen their relationship."
Luke’s fishing rod went into the water, he looked at Florence’s beautiful face full of distress: "Need help~"
Florence opened her mouth: "Uncle Andre, help me."
Luke’s face fell.
Uncle Andre hesitated but still walked over, looking at the tangled fishing line and wrongly set up rod: "Oh dear~young lady... my eyes are a bit old... this..." he looked troubled: "Young lady... I seem to be getting confused myself."
Luke’s expression brightened again, looked indifferently at Florence: "Just say so if you need help."
Uncle Andre chimed in from the side: "Young master, better give the young lady a hand."
"Alright, call me husband and I’ll help you." His face still had that proud look.
Old Mr. Gardiner sneaked a smile from the corner.
"Uncle Andre." Florence said with a straight face: "Luke wants you to call him husband."
Uncle Andre’s face froze, shocked and beyond belief.
Luke angrily stood up: "I’m asking you to call!"
"Why are you yelling." Florence snorted: "With you like that, I’ll be surprised if you catch anything."
Old Mr. Gardiner stared at the fishing rod: "Yeah, no wonder I can’t catch anything now; it’s all Luke’s fault."
Luke: "..."
They’re definitely mocking him.
Florence simply threw down her fishing rod, intending to buy a new one, the old man thought she was upset and leaving hurriedly stopped her: "Florence, it’s alright, come to grandpa’s spot to fish; you can use mine."
"No need to be moody." Luke walked over, picked up the rod, searched through his bag again for the fishing line, reassembled the wrongly set up rod, and thrust it back into her hand: "Fish."
Old Mr. Gardiner raised his eyebrows as he watched.
There’s definitely something going on.
Florence didn’t actually know how to fish, Uncle Andre helped her set up the bait before going to the old man’s side, Florence took a look, mimicked their casting posture, but immediately there was a yelp from beside her.
The bait smacked Luke’s face and ended up in front of him, even leaving some residue stuck on his face. He turned his head with a sinister look at Florence: "You did that on purpose right."
Florence felt a bit awkward: "Sorry."
Luckily, the fish hook didn’t scratch him.
Luke walked over again, drew up the fishing rod, cast it into the pond, then fixed the rod in her place: "Just sit and wait."
Old Mr. Gardiner: There’s definitely something going on.
Florence: "Thank you."
Luke grunted but couldn’t hold back a slight smile at the corner of his mouth.
Florence had barely sat down for two minutes when the fishing rod in front of her started moving. Thankfully, she knew how to reel it in. It was a bit strenuous, but a plump fish made it ashore, and the old man laughed: "Looks like it had to be Florence indeed, she caught the first fish of the day."
Florence carefully removed the fish hook and went to grab the fish. It was large and slippery, totally hard to hold, flipping and jumping right next to Luke, Florence approached, Luke reached out to help, but the big fish jumped by itself flipping into the water bucket beside Luke, splashing both of them wet.
"Oh~" Luke casually wiped the water off his face, looking at Florence: "Seems like this first fish is mine."
Florence glanced at the fish in the bucket, remembering he had helped her earlier: "Alright, it’s yours."
She was quite magnanimous.
After catching this fish, she didn’t catch any more, but on the other side, Old Mr. Gardiner and Luke started catching, Florence gradually lost interest, told the old man, and planned to take a walk around this fishing pond area.
Beside the fishing pond, there were other pools raising crabs and shrimp.
The farm staff gave her a basket, Florence picked up a few, walked around the area, she found a clean pool, bent down to wash her hands.
When she finished washing and stood up, before she could turn around, a pair of hands suddenly grabbed her shoulders, pushing her forward. Florence was startled, but the next moment those hands pulled her back into an embrace.
"Who told you to approach the water."
Florence looked at Luke, who was laughing lightly, raised her eyebrows: "Nervous!"
"Scolding me." Luke chuckled: "I came especially to find you."
