Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Mr. Hunter’s Annoyance
"Even if we got the marriage certificate, there’s no need to be so..."
"Once you’ve got the marriage certificate, it’s necessary to be a bit intimate."
"But before we got the certificate, you said we were just partners and something about a win-win situation."
"I was just talking nonsense."
Isabella Weaver was dumbstruck!
How could he so boldly break his promise like that!
Yet, Harry Hunter showed no hint of guilt, wrapping his arm around her waist as he glanced at her sketch: "What’s this? Weren’t you painting landscapes before?"
Isabella Weaver was a bit surprised: "How did you know what I used to paint?"
Harry Hunter silently cursed, realizing he had let his guard down in his glee at finding her, almost letting something slip.
"I had a chat with your previous gallery’s Boss Palmer, and he mentioned you painted landscapes."
Isabella Weaver nodded without suspicion: "I actually paint everything, but Boss Palmer said landscapes can be deceiving, that buyers are relatively more numerous and willing to pay high prices, so I specialized in landscapes there. These are jewelry design sketches for a competition I entered. What do you think?"
Being this close to Harry Hunter, she could almost smell the faint cool scent on him. She had to concentrate on the design drafts to suppress her slightly chaotic heartbeat.
Harry Hunter seemed oblivious, one arm still holding her tightly, the other flipping through her sketches.
"Not bad, though a little raw, but the design concepts are very unique. You’ll definitely stand out in the design competition."
"Really?"
Isabella Weaver’s eyes lit up. Receiving Harry Hunter’s affirmation made her heart leap with joy!
Seeing Harry Hunter’s outfit and the villa’s decor style, she felt his taste was excellent. Now that he praised her design as unique, it must truly be distinctive, right?
Suddenly, she didn’t resist Harry Hunter’s embrace, lifting her face with a radiant smile: "Mr. Hunter, thank you!"
Harry Hunter was momentarily dazzled by her smile. Did this girl have any idea how strikingly beautiful she was?
Her skin was pale like snow, hair as black as ink, with clear and pure eyes that easily captivated anyone she looked at.
Her smile was beautiful, like winter ice thawing, revealing the most vibrant petals.
Seizing his moment of distraction, Isabella Weaver slipped from his embrace, packed her sketches into her backpack, and suddenly asked him: "Mr. Hunter, do you know where Boss Palmer went? How did he and the gallery just disappear? When I went today, I thought I had the wrong place."
Harry Hunter finally realized why Isabella Weaver had come to such a remote and small gallery; he himself was the instigator!
He was filled with regret, having been accustomed to resolving matters without considering the consequences, only to find he had stumbled this time, forcing Isabella to paint in such a secluded little gallery.
Yet he betrayed not a trace of this on his face, responding lightly: "I’m not well-acquainted with him. He must have some matters to attend to and is taking a break. You could try to find him again in a few days."
"Alright then!"
Isabella responded, but felt that since the gallery had turned into ruins, finding Boss Palmer again probably wouldn’t do much good.
As she followed Harry Hunter out of the studio, she saw the gallery was already in darkness, the outside even blacker and utterly silent.
Isabella paused in her steps: "What time is it...?"
She had sold her watch, her phone was off, and she was so absorbed in her painting that she completely lost track of time!
