After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic -
Chapter 77: Hold Her Tight
Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Hold Her Tight
Connor said as he watched Harry Hunter’s face grow darker, even his voice lowered. He thought his own Young Master’s father was ruthless enough, but he didn’t expect Isabella Weaver’s father to be even harsher, treating his daughter as if she were not human!
"Miss Weaver ran away, Alexander Parker was furious and beat up Christopher Weaver and his family. Now both Weaver Family and Parker Family are looking for the Young Madam, but they haven’t been able to find her."
Harry Hunter didn’t know this small-time player Alexander Parker, but he understood the "trouble" Isabella was referring to.
Christopher Weaver always manages to pull off surprising moves, trying to marry his daughter to someone like that, does he want to torment her for a lifetime?
"Find her before both families do, and double the manpower!"
"Yes, Young Master!"
"If you can’t find her, don’t bother seeing me again."
Connor wiped away the sweat on his forehead: "I promise I’ll find her!"
If he couldn’t find a person, what was he even living for!
"She probably won’t go far, search meticulously around where she parked." Harry Hunter suddenly remembered something and added, "Focus on galleries and art museums."
Connor accepted the order and left. Half an hour later, he reported to Harry Hunter: "Young Master, we found her; she’s in a small gallery called Molly’s Art. I’ll send you the location!"
Harry Hunter received the location and frowned upon seeing how remote it was.
What if it isn’t safe in a place like that?
This girl really has a big heart!
He sped all the way there, with Connor already waiting outside the gallery.
"Young Master, the Young Madam is inside, it’s just..."
Connor hadn’t finished speaking when Harry Hunter went right inside.
Connor had no choice but to shut his mouth and stand guard outside like a door god.
As it was already nearing midnight, the gallery was closed, and its password lock had been picked open by Connor.
The gallery was dimly lit, with only one studio emitting light through the crack of the door.
Harry Hunter gently pushed the door open and saw Isabella Weaver hunched over a somewhat old desk, fully absorbed in painting something, completely unaware of his presence.
He stood silently behind her, quietly waiting for her to finish her painting.
Isabella Weaver had been bent over the desk for too long; her neck felt a bit sore. As she turned her neck, she suddenly sensed someone standing behind her!
She let out a shriek and stumbled backward.
Harry Hunter steadily caught her, pulling her into his arms, his voice soft: "Did I scare you?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Isabella Weaver’s tense nerves relaxed, but she had indeed been quite startled. She raised her fist and hit Harry Hunter lightly: "You came in so silently, it’s really scary, okay?"
Clearly a hitting action, but Harry Hunter inexplicably felt it resembled the unique way a girl would coquettishly act.
His arms tightened a bit: "I saw you were drawing so intently, I didn’t want to interrupt you. I didn’t expect to scare you."
Isabella Weaver noticed his action and instinctively wanted to break free, but Harry Hunter held her even tighter.
She had to remind him: "Mr. Hunter."
"Hmm."
"Hold gently."
"Isabella, I’m already being very gentle, don’t move around."
Isabella Weaver felt his tone seemed different from usual, carrying an unusual emotion.
She wasn’t used to such intimacy: "I think this is too close, keeping a distance might be better, don’t you think?"
"I think this is just fine. We got our marriage certificate today, you haven’t forgotten, have you?"
