Chapter 330: Chapter 293: Open for Business!

The next day.

The sun was blistering.

At the edge of the desert, beneath a crude wooden shed with a boundary marker,

Hans, dressed in a sheriff’s uniform, wiped the sweat from his forehead and said with immense irritation,

"I’ve already watched the video, but what of it?"

"Serial murders have occurred in your border town, you must catch them immediately!"

The robot standing opposite him said.

Hans lit a cigarette, took a couple of drags, and replied, "Alright, thanks for the reminder, we have received the friendly tip from Dongsheng Country. Now, can you leave?"

He turned his head to glance at some officers behind him.

All the officers remained silent, their mouths full of mockery.

What a rubbish task.

Hans couldn’t help but curse silently in his heart.

Dealing with robots from Dongsheng Country was the least profitable business, but when faced with a reasonable request, someone from this side had to deal with it.

So he was sent.

"We hope you will identify the perpetrators soon and hand them over to us,"

the robot said in a monotone and indifferent tone.

Hans chuckled coldly, "Fine, I got it. We’ll catch the murderers as soon as possible—I’m not going repeat myself again—this damned meeting can be over now, right?"

"If you catch those two people—"

"—I’ll notify you at once," Hans cut in.

The robot nodded its head.

"Goodbye," Hans said, waving his hand.

"Goodbye, and just so you know, we are going to start acting independently," the robot turned and walked towards the desert.

Hans was taken aback and shouted, "What do you mean by ’acting independently’?"

"Although you’re a country of the Reformist Faction, you have also signed an anti-terrorism treaty with us. Our forces will enter your country to search for criminals—your President has agreed to this,"

the robot said without turning back.

Shortly thereafter,

a spaceship gradually ascended into the sky, flying over their heads towards the direction of Wusi Country.

"Damn it, that’s outright invasion!"

one of the subordinates grumbled.

"Let them be, a bunch of garbage robots that only know the rules,"

Hans mopped his sweaty forehead with a handkerchief and said expressionlessly, "I guess they’ll never learn the right way to deal with us."

"Boss, they understand us better than we do, but they want to maintain the concept of ’absolute fairness,’" a subordinate said with a grin.

"To handle affairs in our country without spending money? Sigh, boss, let’s go back, it’s too hot here," another subordinate spoke.

Hans squinted at the scorching sun overhead and asked, "What about the dead in that town?"

"All the dead were junkies and pimps, riddled with drugs and disease, we didn’t dare drag them to feed the pigs—after all, if the pigs get sick, that would be a loss,"

the subordinate replied.

"So?"

"We threw them in the sand ditches outside the town and buried them there."

"They were lucky," Hans commented dryly.

A young subordinate hesitated before saying, "Boss, should we catch those two culprits? The Hyena Gang has put up a large sum of money to avenge their members."

"Catch what? There are plenty of gangs that deal with fake identities; they can just buy an identity and we’ll run ourselves ragged," Hans said dismissively.

"But if we catch those two, you could definitely get a promotion, boss," the young subordinate urged.

"I don’t have enough money for a promotion, and besides, those two aren’t easy to catch; you could end up dead," Hans said with a smile.

"Boss, I’ll try to find those two," the young man volunteered bravely.

"Good! Mike, you indeed have spirit,"

Hans’s mouth curled up in praise, while he pulled out a pistol and pressed it against the young subordinate’s temple.

Bang.

A bullet was fired.

The young man’s body fell to the ground.

All was silent.

Hans holstered his gun and coldly stated,

"The brave officer Mike was killed in the line of duty while pursuing the murderer. I have reason to suspect that the killer is the man who dismantled the Eagle modified Combat Mecha with his bare hands; I have even more reason to suspect that this person might be an experimental subject from the ’Reformist Faction’ top-level laboratory."

"Dongsheng Country’s central intelligence has started to pay attention to this matter and has dispatched High-level Combat Robots into our country to pursue them, not ruling out subsequent large-scale actions."

"Therefore, this case has gone beyond the scope of the local police and is hereby reported."

A bald subordinate quickly noted everything in a notebook, saying, "Boss, I’ve recorded it all, will upload in ten minutes."

"Deal with the body," Hans gestured.

A few subordinates carried the body towards an outside police pickup truck.

Hans lit another cigarette, took a few puffs, and then seemed to remember something,

"Mike’s compensation has come through. Seven for me, three for you guys."

"Understood, boss,"

the subordinates responded in unison.

"Have we missed anything?" Hans asked again.

"Boss, what about Sare Town?" a subordinate reminded.

"Dongsheng Country’s robots are surely already investigating it. Tell the gangs not to use that town as a stronghold anymore, it’s unsafe—forget it, let’s not bother with that town, let it fend for itself," Hans said.

"Boss, Mike took a sum of money from the Hyena Gang, it’s hidden in his rented house."

"Search it,"

"Understood,"

...

A black SUV sped furiously down the desert road.
