Chapter 340: Sinister Schemes
[Ding!]

This I was expecting, but what I wasn’t expecting, was a flood of foreign memories to assault me. All of them random snippets of this Vorzara person, whom I have to believe is the thing I just ate.
I only received a handful of memories, most of them irrelevant, but there was one that made my blood literally boil.

(PAST | Vorzara POV)
I arrived in front of a rather plain and unsuspecting wall in the middle of some ruins of an ancient city in the middle of nowhere in the desert.
Behind the wall was just a pile of rubble, so nobody would suspect that this was the secret location for our hidden base.
And although we can’t exactly hold a candle to THEM quite yet, we’re still able to evade even the Gods senses. And that’s enough for us to carry out our plans.
Placing my palm onto the wall, I closed my eyes and imbued it with my mana and traced a special pattern into it.
The wall trembled and a portion of the wall broke from its seams and slid back and to the side, revealing a hidden passage with a spiral ramp that went down.
I entered and the wall soon closed up behind me, with several torches lining the wall igniting as I went down.
Eventually I reached an ornate wooden door at the end of a hallway that was at the bottom of the ramp.
The door had an image of the War Against the Divine, with the Gods emerging and attacking from clouds up above and a bunch of detestable mortals fighting back below.
I scowled and opened the door, entering a round chamber with a domed roof up above and a simple round wooden table in the middle, with twelve of my associates already here and waiting for me.
"You’re late as usual." A heavy and guttural voice called out.
"You know I have to be extra cautious Danzek. Can’t let all this be exposed just to not inconvenience you." I snapped back.
"Alright, alright, settle down you two. Now that everyone’s here, we can finally get started." A smoother and more elegant voice spoke up.
And once I was seated in my chaise, draping my tail over the edge, the person that voice belonged to turned to me and asked, "Now, Vorzara. Have you ended her Bloodline completely?"
"Yes. In a manner of speaking of course. I can’t do it directly or else she might notice, but I’ve taken steps to end her lineage for good, and even if she somehow manages to overcome the infertile curse I’ve placed upon her, I’ve set up a failsafe which will poison both her and the unborn child."
"Excellent. With that we are one step closer to..."

(PRESENT | Traytora POV)
The vision of the memory that I just witnessed was excruciating to practically relive from the perspective of the one responsible for my mother’s demise.
And for what? World domination? But then why hide from the Gods? Unless they seeked to replace them?
I was so overwhelmed all of it that I just started screaming.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I blacked out.
I don’t remember what happened after I started screaming, but I do remember that I kept on screaming for who knows how long.
Not to mention when I woke up, I felt extreme pain all over my body combined with a severe headache.
When I tried to get up, I felt something heavy on top of me pressing me down onto something coarse and charred. In fact, the thing above me felt somewhat similar in texture, but with a more jagged surface.
There was still enough space for me to move my body a little, and clearly allow air through for me to breath, especially for however long it’s been since I blacked out.
And then I tried to move my tail.
"GGGGAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
My senses where overwhelmed with immense pain as my brain finally registered that many things where wrong with my tail.
It was being crushed, stabbed and bent in ways it wasn’t supposed to be able to do.
Overwhelmed by the pain stemming from my tail, I felt consciousness somehow breaking. Like something was telling me to get out of here as fast as possible or something bad would happen.
But the physical pain combined with this mental stress made it very hard to even focus. I was barely able to control my mana flow to do what I desired. Not to mention how to get out of here.
I knew that I could just teleport out, but with such a clouded mind, I might fuck up somehow and make things worse.
So before that, I somehow had to rid myself of the agonising pain assaulting me. But how?
"AAAAHHHHGGGGG!!!!!" The more I screamed, the more I writhed. And the more I writhed, the more it hurt. And the more it hurt, the more it clouded my mind. And the more it clouded my mind, the more I was inclined to just scream.
It was an endless cycle of misery. Every second was pure torment both mentally and physically.
And after more screaming, my instincts kicked in, causing a burst of intense flames to surge out of my body, which somewhat melted the debris that encased me.
This was a good thing to some extend because it allowed me a moment of reprieve and for my body to heal a bit more.
It wasn’t much, but was enough to at least make some of the pain go away. Though my tail was still slightly disfigured and misshapen.
Still, I was able to focus now at least. Which allowed me to realise that I’d just sealed off any airflow into here, so I had limited time before I died from suffocating on my own breath.
Didn’t help that my mind was still relapsing from the pain I felt. Not to mention it felt like my head was about to explode if not for my instincts kicking in.
All I could do was try and save my breath and just kind of wait for the pain to go away.
...
A few minutes? Maybe several. The pain had resided enough to where I could focus again. But now I was lacking breathable air in place of it despite managing my breathing to a minimum.
But I forced myself to concentrate and use [Spatial Vision] to look upwards through the debris until I found an open space, which fortunately enough, didn’t take too long.
And the moment I found that space, I immediately used [Spatial Shift] and teleported there.
In an instant, I felt the cool breeze of the morning air and gasped for mouthfuls of it as I dropped onto the rubble that was just below me.
Instantly I began to cough and cry out in pain as my body, more specifically my tail, forcefully put itself back together.
And as soon as it was over, I collapsed and started to feel fuzzy in my mind.
I was dozing off once more.
’Really annoying. I gotta stop doing that so much...’
And just before I my mind went under, I could hear shouts most likely coming from the members of the Sect who must be worried sick looking for me.
