A Serpent's Tale
Chapter 339: Sinister Spirit

Chapter 339: Sinister Spirit

"AAAAAHHHHH... Who daressss..." The visage of the serpent, which looked like some kind of phantom made from a dark red smog, winced in pain as it opened its eyes and focused its gaze unto me, the source of its current pain.

And the second afterwards, it shrunk and coiled in fear as it hissed at me.

"SSSSHHAAAAAA!!!" And rather loudly at that. "YOU! You shouldn’t exissst!"

Whatever this thing was started to prattle on about complete nonsense. But it was offensive to the members of the sect, who up till now had retreated in fear as even though I was actively supressing this things Aura, it still gave of a terrifying feeling, which frightened the Sect and its acolytes.

"How dare you besmirch our Goddesses descendant like that!" But despite the fear it induced by simply existing, it seems that being offended for me is enough to overcome said fear.

The serpent turned its gaze to the woman who shouted that, which was Shayllaa, and she immediately shrunk back upon seeing the pure malice in its eyes.

"Hey! Eyes over here you little shit." I called out to it to draw its attention back to me.

It hissed and did as I told it to, but was clearly unhappy with its current situation. And it made sure I knew that, as well as try to make me lose concentration.

"You... You shouldn’t even exissst. We made sure to end that bitchsss bloodline with your predecesssor." It was clearly trying to get under my scales.

And it worked, I was perturbed. But beyond everything, I was beyond livid at what it had just said. Which only served to put more pressure onto this thing as I directed my entire focus onto it and it only.

*CRACK!* *CRACK!*

"GGGAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" It screamed in pain as the room started to literally fall apart from my sudden shift in mood.

"Everyone." I said, my tone completely devoid of any and all emotion, "Out. NOW!" I demanded, and everyone, from the acolytes to the oligarchs scurried out of the room, leaving only me, and this heinous, vile, disgusting thing.

"Uhah... Ehehehahahahaaa... Y-You really didn’t like that, d-did you?" The filth spoke, but I didn’t care to listen.

I got a little bit closer to it, my form growing larger thanks to my [Demonic Transformation], and loomed over it with a terrifying force.

A pair of sharp and jagged horns grew out of my scalp, forming a pointed crown atop my head, whilst my skin turned a dark violet, with my claws coming out and becoming longer, larger and infinitely sharper. So sharp in fact that I felt like I could tear through a soul without any aid from my soul Skills.

My teeth and fangs also grew sharper and deadlier in the same regard that I felt like I could physically rip a soul to shreds with my bare teeth.

Further down my body, my scales shuddered and the more exposed ones began to grow some pointy little fins atop them.

And overall, my general form became at least twenty-five percent bigger, with my tail going from around five and a half metres long to nearly seven metres. And my stature was much larger too, from around two metres to about two and a half metres tall.

The serpentine spirit thing shrunk up and coiled up even more upon seeing my transformation, cowering like a puny Imp in the face of someone like my father.

I took a deep breath and revelled in the fear I instilled in this thing by merely existing. It was exhilarating to say the least, seeing this being that was essentially an evil counterpart to me, or rather my species, at least based on appearances, cower like a mutt.

It tried to say something, but the only thing that came out of its mouth were little squeaks and hisses as it was forced to look up at me.

"What." I started speak one word at a time, mainly so that I could say what I wanted to say properly wince I wasn’t mentally stable at the moment, and I noticed that my voice was a bit deeper, with a little bit of a growl to it compared to what it normally is, enticing and sultry.

"Did." The next word came out, and this time, I’d raised my voice to the point where my power, which was just spilling out at this point, resounded throughout the room and causing it to collapse even more.

"You." I tried to keep my cool, but with every word I said, the more I was able to process what this thing said to me. And my fury reached new heights.

"Just." Now my voice was taking on a demonic tone as more and more of my power spilled out. And at this point it wasn’t just the power of my Bloodline or any of my Aura’s, it was also the power of all my [Affinity]’s as well as the sheer amount of Mana that I had. And stacked on top of it all was my Will.

"Say." I finished off and my entire body burst into flames made out of every single one of my abilities, from all the elements I could control to even [Soul Flame]’s. All of it burst out of me, igniting my body and melting the room to the point where it was about to collapse with how badly I’d damaged its structural integrity.

All of this simply because this little shit mentioned that it was apparently part of some kind of scheme that resulted in my mother’s death.

But I received no answer as this wretched phantom just lay there, unresponsive. The intensity of my stare grew harsher and sharper, demanding that it answer me.

Yet there was nothing. Nothing but the sound of the flames that engulfed my entire being crackling like a bonfire, and the room also literally melting from the sheer intensity of heat that I was generating whilst just simply existing as is.

I waited and waited, but the thing never even seemed to move in my presence, completely overwhelmed by fear. And I don’t blame it either to be honest. I just wish it would talk.

And I think that no matter what I do or say nor how long I wait, it won’t answer, so I’ll simply do something else instead.

Leaning forwards, I reached out my clawed hands towards this thing.

"N-No... W-Wait a-a sec-cond!" And of course, this is when it decides now is the best time to finally speak.

And I’m sure that if it could skitter away, it would, but underneath my Aura, there was no escape. It couldn’t even move from its coiled position.

Regardless, I reached it, my flaming hand instantly burning through its phantom scales and burning its ethereal flesh.

"GGGAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! IT BURNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!" The screams that rang out where like a heavenly symphony to me.

But that wasn’t all I wanted to do to it, oh no. I had something much worse in store for this thing.

I brought it up to my face and opened my mouth, watching as it despaired upon seeing the deep pit that was my flaming cavernous maws.

And its screams became even more delightful to hear.

"GGYAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! NNOOOOOOO!!!!! PLEASSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!! I’M SSSSSOOOOORRRRRRRRYYYY!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!"

But no matter what pleas it gave, I wasn’t going to listen. And I continued to bring it towards my waiting mouth, where I then stuffed it wholly inside and began to basically chew it to shreds.

And although I couldn’t quite hear the pleasant sound of its screams anymore, I was still immensely satisfied with what I’d done to it so far.

By now, it had been completely minced so I swallowed it down into my upper stomach. Where upon I sent it straight down to my lower one right after and began to digest it, with not only my digestion Skills, but I refined it with my fire to.

It took a few seconds to completely digest this thing, but when I did, Something I wasn’t expecting happened.
