Chapter 267: I Snapped
Chapter 267: I Snapped
The girl talking to him stopped as soon as she realised that I was coming over to take her place. She politely ended the conversation with the brat and slithered elsewhere to talk to others.
As for the brat, he was faced away from me, so when the girl talking to him ended the conversation, he turned around with a snobbish smile, but upon seeing me he frowned.
"Ah, I see the peasant has come to make tributes to my esteemed self." Dear god he’s already irked me with that contempt.
"With all due respect sir, anyone able to attend this event is by no means considered a peasant." I responded in a polite manner that held a hint of contempt back at him behind my tone.
"Hmph! Does not matter! You are of common origins, nothing more, and you shall never amount to anything beyond that." He retorted with disdain.
I sighed in exhaustion. Only a few seconds of talking and I was already pissed with his behaviour.
"Again, with all due respect, someone of your status should not be flaunting themselves as you are in such a manner. That is disrespectful to others and brings down their view of both you and your family." I replied in a slightly aggressive manner whilst biting through my words a little.
And he seemed to take offence to that as he reeled back in horror.
"HOW DARE YOU!" He screamed loud enough for the whole class to hear. Seems like he’s gotten a little too much into this pretend play.
"You should be grateful that I don’t demand you to feed yourself to me like those two pieces of scum from this morning!" He waved his hands around and flicked his head away in disgust.
"You would probably give me indigestion anyways." He whispered loud enough for me to hear.
My right eyelid twitched immensely and I could feel the bones and muscles in my left hand breaking from the sudden strain I just put upon them.
Seeing my unresponsiveness, he thought it wise to continue his spiel.
"Ha! That’s right, you should just slither along and beg some other lesser noble to feed yourself to-"
*BANG!* *CRACK*
I don’t quite remember what I just did as I felt my mind blank out as he said those words, but as I recovered, I could see that the brat was now lodged inside the wall, his face disfigured from a punch.
His face was bleeding heavily too, like copious amount of blood was spilling out of cracks and cuts in his face which seemed to have been made from the bones from his skull.
Suddenly the teacher suddenly cried out loud to one of the students to go to a training arena of Gold or above and request a healer.
"Anyone who knows where there’s a Gold rank training arena or higher, go there NOW and ask for a healer immediately!"
Three students left the room as the teacher went over to pull the brat out of the wall with some effort.
Once dislodged, she laid him on the ground and cast some magic which seemed to help him by slowing down whatever was happening. I think she was using [Ice] magic by the way it glowed, which was icy blue. It also made the room a tad colder.
A few minutes later, two of the students that left came back with healers who immediately performed their magic on him.
Upon seeing that his face was being healed, the teacher suddenly glared at me in anger and came over and brought me into an empty corner in the room to talk.
"What was that?" She hissed at me.
"What? I don’t remember anything except that he was talking, and then the next thing I know is he’s lodged unconscious deep in the wall." I explained to her my genuine recounting of those events.
"You seriously don’t know what you did?" She stared at me intensely as she spoke in a harsh yet judging tone.
"N-No?" I replied a little worried. Not a lot since that bastard deserved it, but I didn’t want to get into trouble this soon. "D-Did I do that?"
"Yes, yes you did do that. Do you really not remember doing that?" She questioned with scrutiny.
"No, I don’t remember doing anything like that. I just remember him talking before he was suddenly lodged in the wall." I repeated, reaffirming my recollection of these events.
"I see... You will have to face punishment for this even if you’re a prodigy. I’ll have to speak to the headmaster about this. If you don’t have any classes after this, then you’ll come with me immediately."
"Okay... But I really don’t know what happened." I stated once more.
"That doesn’t matter, everyone saw that you punched him. Hard. And you need to answer for your actions, even if you don’t know what you did."
After she said that, she left me in the corner to check upon how the healers were doing. I saw that a third one had arrived and the other student had returned.
And once she made sure that the brat was okay and would be fine after some rest, she called to me to go to follow her to the headmaster’s office.
I followed behind her in silence, not daring to question her or act out of line in case I would be punished more for it.
Soon enough, after a few minutes, we arrived at the headmaster’s office, her assistant working away at her desk.
She noticed us approaching and welcomed us.
"Hi, are the two of you here to see the headmaster? If so, what for?" She greeted us kindly and asked us for the purpose for our coming here.
The teacher spoke up and explained, "Yes, hello. This student has just gravely injured a student, nearly killing him."
""What?""
I didn’t know I nearly killed him! I mean, I wouldn’t have cared given the way he was acting, but still!
And even the assistant was shocked by that statement. She shook her head and asked, "Are your certain that he nearly died?"
"Yes, I’m quite certain. If not for my quick action, he would’ve likely died. Seeing the graveness of this incident, and seeing that this student is a top-grade prodigy, I thought it best to take this matter up with the headmaster."
"I see... In that case, you can head right on in." The assistant then knocked on the door before I heard the voice of headmaster Amoranaa call out.
"Come in."
The teacher that brought me here opened the door and signalled for me to enter first and I did so with my head hung low in shame. I hate this. I hate being in this situation.
Miss Amoranaa asked what the meaning of this was and the teacher explained, even saying that I basically didn’t remember any of it. And upon hearing this, she asked the teacher to go and fetch the temporary witch teacher, Morrigan.
I was confused as to why she would call her here but didn’t say anything in fear of repercussions.
When my etiquette teacher left, Miss Amoranaa addressed me.
"So, Traytora. First off, I want to say that your request for a private Culture tutor has been approved. Secondly, what the fuck did you do? You’re aware that that’s the Duchess’ nephew, right?"
"I am aware. But as the teacher explained, I don’t remember punching him as she claims I did! I just remember talking to him and then all of a sudden, he was lodged into the wall!" I exclaimed in a fervour.
"I understand that you feel that way, but it’s clear to me that regardless, you were the one that nearly killed the Duchess’ nephew. But! I also understand that you were not in control of yourself either, since you clearly don’t remember doing it."
I gave a sigh of relief upon hearing that Miss Amoranaa at least saw my side of the story.
"Still, whilst we wait for those two to get here, please explain to me the series of events that led up to this moment."
I explained to her without resisting, telling her about the fact that we were in class, his behaviour in the first half, and then what happened in the second half.
That being everyone pretending to be at a fancy party and talking formally to everyone. I explained how he was acting like a brat and how everyone who talked about him was basically shit talking him.
Then I went on to tell Miss Amoranaa about when it was my turn to go and talk to him, and how he immediately talked down to me. I told her about how I tried to be respectful but he kept on being rude and dismissive.
"And that’s about all I can remember. I know he said something else after that, but I don’t remember what it was that he said."
"Hmm, can you remember any more details? Any at all?" Miss Amoranaa pushed me to think further for other details.
"Uhm... I think I remember breaking my hand? I remember feeling some pain in my left hand I think before he was lodged into the wall."
"And do you think it was because you punched him?"
"No, he’s incapable of hurting me like that. I think... I think I broke it?"
"You broke your own hand? Is it still broken?"
"No, not anymore."
Before Miss Amoranaa could ask more questions to further analyse the situation, Morrigan had arrived and entered the room.
