A Serpent's Tale
Chapter 216: Awakening My Divine Bloodline (3/3)

Chapter 216: Awakening My Divine Bloodline (3/3)

Those few hours felt like hell, not just because of the gruelling amount of time I spent doing this, but also because of the toll it took on my body physically.

Thankfully, I was about to finish this transfusion process, as the divine blood was about to enter my heart, which was racing like a million beats a minute.

And as soon as the blood entered my heart, I spat some of my own out reflectively as my two bloodlines began fighting against one another. One fighting for dominance over the other, to see which one was better, and it was tearing me apart from the inside.

It felt like hell. Just how many times am I going to go through immeasurable amounts of pain?

"BLLEERRGH!!!" I spat out another mouthful of blood as I writhed on the floor in agony, my body spasming within me.

(MEANWHILE)

(Divine Serpentine Realm.)

"AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! FUCK YOU MEDUSA!!! I WIN!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"

One of the five Divine serpentine deities screamed out in a mocking triumph towards the one of the other serpentine deities, Medusa. And the person screaming was Astraa.

Somewhere across the heavenly realm, Medusa was listening to all of this because Astraa was screaming loud enough for her to hear her, and this annoyed the shit out of Medusa, who knew exactly what this was about.

These two Goddesses made a bet when they had both ascended. And that bet was on who they thought would get their spot in the Illuminati first. The rules were simple, it had to be one of their descendants.

For Medusa, it just had to be a Gorgon because of their low birth rates, ad the fact that they could all be traced back to her as the first Gorgon ever.

As for Astraa, it had to be a descended born from her directly, meaning that they had to have been born from her bloodline specifically.

And of course, the two of them bet on their own sides. There was no tangible reward for winning this bet, only the fact that one of them one the bet.

And right now, Astraa’s one and only remaining descendant had somehow made her way into the main headquarters of the Illuminati, and somehow managed to find her inheritance in there.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!" Her laugh was so loud that it could be heard everywhere within the divine realm.

It was so loud in fact, that any of the adjacent heavenly realms could faintly hear it. Hell, even some of the more powerful denizens of the several Hell’s could hear it if they really listened.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Aahahahahahaahahaaaa... Haeh?" But as Astraa was laughing, she could faintly hear the screams of something.

No, it was someone. And they were angry. And getting closer by the second. Until.

*BOOOOMMM!!!*

"AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGG!!!!!!" Asmodeus burst through the divine barrier of the heavenly serpentine real and punched Astraa so hard in the face that she crashed into the realm’s barrier in a single second.

When Medusa felt all of this, she poked her head out from her private temple and screamed, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING HERE?!?!"

And the second Asmodeus snapped his head to look at Medusa, she reflexively turned herself into stone from fear. She quite literally petrified herself into stone from the sheer amount of fear she felt when that gaze was on her. And it was then that she knew to stay out of this.

Asmodeus then returned his gaze onto Astraa whom had managed to recover by then, though she was still injured as she was unprepared for that.

*Cough* *Cough* "What the HELL was that for?!?!?" She screamed in a frightened anger, not understanding why Asmodeus, who had recently garnered an infamous reputation for how he easily defeated and killed Diablo and literally ripped the Sin of Wrath out of Satan.

Asmodeus said nothing as his intense stare remained gazing deep into her very soul as he pointed down.

Astraa’s face scrunched up, her brows wrinkling in confusion as she looked to where he was pointing and saw Traytora writhing in pain as both of their bloodlines clashed within her. Astraa looked back up at him, still partially confused as to why exactly he was pointing at her.

She knew that Traytora was his daughter, but that didn’t explain his actions. That was until she got another look at the poor mortal girl and actually saw what was happening.

Her face turned pale and she immediately slithered over to the hole in the heavenly barrier that the devil created and used her authority to control her blood.

Thankfully she managed to get to it in time or else poor little Traytora would’ve likely died then and there from the torment that her blood was going through.

*Sigh* "There, it’s fix-"

*SLAP!*

Before Astraa could finish her sentence, Asmodeus backhanded her across the face, his hand unintentionally filled with the flames of wrath.

"You are a pathetic excuse of a god." He berated in an extremely rageful manner. "You don’t even act like a god, you’re just a child that only focuses on your own selfish desires and satisfaction!" He pointed accusingly at the serpentine woman as she got up, the mark of the slap still lingering.

That mark was unlikely to ever go away due to the power of Wrath that was used to inflict it. And she was about to retort when Asmodeus continued shouting.

"You say you care for your ’children’ yet here you are, celebrating something so irrelevant, that you become blinded by your own selfishness! If you weren’t already a goddess, I would’ve personally dragged you to hell for this!" Asmodeus yelled in an aggressive manner as he strode menacingly towards Astraa, his form transforming into something more monstrous and terrifying that it even struck fear into the hearts of everyone who gazed at it.

All except for one.

"Azzy?" A soft and feminine voice cried out in worry.

Asmodeus stopped in his tracks and looked over to the owner of the voice in question.

It was his wife, and the woman who birthed his daughter, Traytora.

Katraa.

"Katty..." Asmodeus’ demonic form slowly faded away as he made his way over to his wife and gently held her face.

"Azzy, what’s going on?" Katraa asked.

Asmodeus explained what was happening with their daughter and how Astraa wasn’t paying attention to it and just celebrating something petty.

"Yes, I did hear that happening." She whispered softly as she leaned into Asmodeus’ hand lovingly. "But don’t forget, Astraa is not only your daughters but also my progenitor. We share the same blood as we are her personal descendant. She’s also The Goddess of our race. Our daughter needs her as a symbol to worship and help her get through everything, so please, just stop this."

Asmodeus sighed as he leaned down and touched foreheads with his wife and conceded. "Fine, I’ll let her go this time with a warning." He let go of his wife and turned back to face Astraa, the kind and loving side that only belonged to his wife and daughter gone instantly.

"Listen here you little shit, you better start acting like a real fucking god or else. Discard all this childish bullshit that you partake in, and be the god that you are supposed to be, even if only for Traytora, who wouldn’t even exist right now, and your lineage would’ve ceased to exist if not for me! So start acting like a god, or else I’ll make someone else take your place."

And with that, he turned back to his wife and picked her up in his arms, her tail coiling around his waist instinctively as he walked back to the hole he created and dropped back into hell, leaving Astraa alone to think about what he said to her.

(Traytora POV)

I don’t know how long I was in pain for but as soon as it resided, I instantly fainted, my mind finally couldn’t tolerate it anymore.

When I woke up I was bombarded with a series of notifications. The first of which being one that told me I had fully assimilated the blood.

[Ding!]
