Chapter 129: Council Meeting

Chapter 129: Council Meeting

Staying behind with me is Cythistia, Arfos, two female stags, a male lion and two futa stags, all of us now lined up facing Tobreos instead of lining the path up to his throne.

"I’m sure you all are wondering why I asked you to stay behind." He asked.

All of us nodded.

"Various reasons, the first of which being Arfos." He called out to Arfos.

"Yes patriarch?" The man responded.

"I want you to apologise to Traytora for your insubordinate behaviour. You had no reason to treat her like that." Tobreos commanded.

"W-What? Why?" Arfos complained.

"Because you should not have treated her like that. So what if she’s of demonic blood? She has been nothing but helpful, aiding the forgeries in their works, not to mention that she’s also provided me with a great granddaughter." His voice becoming softer and more endearing as he spoke about my child with Cythistia. Seems like family is his weak spot.

The man in question didn’t do as he was told and just stood in place, trembling uncontrollably.

Tobreos sighed, "Why are you so aggressive towards her? Why do you hate her so much?"

He didn’t have an answer as he just continued to stay silent.

"If you can’t do this then you will be temporarily suspended from all of your duties until this is all over and placed under house arrest. Do you understand." Tobreos decreed.

"Yes, grandfather." Arfos said spitefully before rushing out of the hall in anger.

Tobreos sighed tiredly before moving on to the next thing. "Now, for the reason I asked all of you to stay behind, is related to the demons that have plagued this forest for millennia."

He continued, "I asked you to stay because I want all of you to join me in the meeting with the council in a few days to discuss how we should deal with this issue, is everyone okay with coming with me?"

Everyone else nodded in affirmatio while I hesitated slightly, not knowing if I should attend after the events that happened earlier.

"Traytora?" Cythistia called out to me in worry.

"Is everything alright? You don’t have to come to the council meeting if you don’t want to." Said Tobreos.

Explained my worries to them, ’I just don’t want a repeat of today is all.’

"Ah, no need to worry about that, I’ll make sure that everyone knows everything you’ve said so that they don’t have any misconceptions or anything like that."

’Thank you.’

"You’re welcome. Now, are you willing to attend the meeting?"

I’d completely forgotten that I technically have yet to answer his original question.

I took a moment to think before answering, ’I will.’

Tobreos smiled and nodded, saying, "Mm, good. You are a brave girl for saying that."

I frowned and told him, ’I’m not a child.’

He chuckled and retorted, "Maybe, but by your species standards, you are."

I pouted and crossed my arms, which made everyone laugh lightly in amusement.

Tobreos chuckled once more and said, "Alright everyone, you’re dismissed, the meeting will be held in three days, we’ll meet outside the front gate at around eight in the morning then, understood?"

Everyone nodded and then left to return to their rooms.

When I got back with Cythistia she explained that Arfos has been plagued with nightmares relating to me and demons ever since he first saw me. He then exploded when he heard Kyristhus’ recounting of that encounter with those humans when we were making our way back from the middle of the forest.

Knowing that at least helped me relax to some extent, but not as much as enjoying some passionate time with my lover before dinner.

Dinner itself was a little sombre since everyone here attended that earlier gathering. They all offered their condolences and apologies for it, explaining that Arfos had always suffered from such episodes of paranoia.

We finished dinner and all went to unwind in our rooms, which meant that Cythistia and I continued where we left off earlier.

The next morning I was awoken by Ayuri as usual and went to work and filled Harmur in on the situation.

"Hmm... If tha’s the case, then maybe ye can ask em’ te let us make em’ some stuff fer em’." he suggested.

’That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, I’ll keep that in mind then.’

"No worries lass. Also, ye can take sum time of te prepare fer yer meeting if ya like."

I smiled and thanked him for the offer and headed back home to do just that. And to prepare, I went to my typical hang out spot, the library, so that I could read up on the council.

I know that Tobreos said that he would deal with the issue of me being demon spawn, but I wanted to at least have enough knowledge of how to conduct myself so that I wouldn’t make a fool of myself.

And soon, it was time to attend the council meeting.

Ayuri woke me up with a quick blowjob before immediately rushing me into the bathroom where Cythistia was also washing herself. If not for the meeting we were attending, we would probably have had some fun while here.

We quickly got washed and went down to have breakfast with everyone else that was coming with us, which included the patriarch himself, after getting dressed in some formal attire that is.

Originally we were going to eat like we normally did but Tobreos asked us if we could all eat together today as it would make things easier for all of us, we all agreed of course, thought there was tension in the air.

"Nervous?" Tobreos calmly asked.

Nobody responded, our silence answering his question.

He chuckled, saying, "I’m sure you are, after all, this isn’t something I would expect any of you to be calm about. You don’t need to worry, you just need to make sure that you think carefully and provide your input when needed." He reassured us, though I’m pretty sure it didn’t have much effect.

After we finished eating we all headed outside and made our way to the building in the centre of the city, the council’s chambers, where all of the most important decisions are made, and we were all going to participate in this one.

To say I wasn’t scared was a blatant lie, and it showed on everyone else too, except for Tobreos of course.

We soon arrived at the building that belonged to the council and entered though one of four sets of doors. The interior of the building was about what I expected, the walls were lined with what looked like carvings of tree roots, and I think some of them may even be actual roots, since the entire building and the city is still made from the broken trunk of Efyos.

We were soon led up some stair that had murals of the city’s history on the walls, with some of them dating back over hundreds of years.

Eventually we reached an even large set of doors. Tobreos pressed his hands against them and imbued some magic in them, which caused them to open with a loud snapping creak.

All of us walked into the room, which seemed to have twelve walls and what looked to be some sort of geometrically shaped pit in the middle.

Running parallel in front of these walls was what should be the seats for the heads of the council, which was soon proven correct as Tobreos sat down in one.

The design of the seating itself was that of a large stand that allowed them to look down on everyone else.

"Take your seats below and please wait for everyone to gather so we can start this meeting." Tobreos asked.

I looked down in front of him and there was some seating in front of him that sat at the edge of the pit. Everyone obviously went forth and took their place in the stalls and awaited everyone else’s arrival.
