Chapter 1229: Exposed

A short while later, the vortex of white light finally began to wane in power, and it quickly faded away into specks of starlight, following which Immortal Envoy Feng Tian fell out from within.

Han Li cast his gaze toward Immortal Envoy Feng Tian to discover that his suit of water armor was already nowhere to be seen, and that his robes had been severely ravaged, revealing countless deep gashes all over his body.

What was even more concerning for him was the several important acupoints in his body that had been damaged by the explosion, including his dantian. Much of the residual starpower from the explosion had infiltrated those acupoints and were constantly slicing away at them from the inside like countless sharp knives, causing him immense agony.

A low snarl was rattling in his throat, and he was enraged beyond words.

He couldn't even recall how many millennia it had been since he had suffered such severe injuries, and the pain of the humiliation inflicted upon him by Immortal Lord Heavenly Star almost outweighed the physical agony that he was experiencing.

"I'm going to hunt down all of the Sun Moon Alliance cultivators in this entire immortal region!" he spat through gritted teeth.

"Please focus on treating your own injuries first, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian. Mountain Master Huo has already gone to pursue Immortal Lord Heavenly Star, and you can do with him as you please once he's been captured," Lu Chuanfeng said.

The Sun Moon Alliance was a superpower that could almost stand toe to toe with the Golden Origin Immortal Palace, and it had countless cultivators under its banner, certainly far too many for all of them to be realistically hunted down.

"I'm going to make the Sun Moon Alliance pay for this!" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian snarled, and his fury and resentment only seemed to be growing.

He swept his gaze over the cultivators from the twelve sects, and he felt even more enraged to have had so many people bear witness to his humiliation.

"How did things become like this?" Celestial Maiden Ziluo sighed in a forlorn manner.

"Something's clearly not right here. We can't continue to stay here. Otherwise, there's no telling what else could happen," someone else said with tightly furrowed brows.

"The restrictions here are meant to protect us, but if you ask me, all they're doing is keeping us imprisoned in this place! We can't stay here any longer!" a third person chimed in in agreement.

"Let's get out of here!"

Everyone quickly rose to their feet as they proceeded to depart from the palace.

"All of you are to stay here until further notice from our abbot!" Elder Yu said in a stern voice as he stood up to oppose everyone.

"We were only willing to stay here because you told us that this is the safest place in the Nine Origins Temple, yet that's clearly been proven not to be the case, so it would be far too unreasonable for you to expect us to continue to stay here!" Zhou Xianyang protested.

Elder Yu knew that Zhou Xianyang was right, and he didn't know how to respond.

"If you have the time to be opposing us, wouldn't your time be much better spent quelling the unrest in the temple? Right now, all we want is to leave the Nine Origins Temple!" Luo Shanyuan chimed in.

After a brief hesitation, Elder Yu heaved a faint sigh as he finally acquiesced, "In that case, I'll get some elders to guide all of you out of our temple, but if any of you stray away from the group to roam the temple without permission, then you'll be regarded as an enemy and struck down on sight, understood?"

Everyone was eager to agree to leave as soon as possible, so they all readily nodded in response.

With that, Elder Yu called over a few Nine Origins Temple elders and instructed them to guide the cultivators of the twelve sects out of the temple in batches.

Right as Han Li was hatching a plan to slip away, Zhou Xianyang's voice suddenly rang out in his mind.

"We've already completed our mission, so we can leave now, Fellow Daoist Han."

"I still have some unfinished business, so I can't leave the Nine Origins Temple for now," Han Li replied.

"In that case, give me the Bodhi Token, and I'll give you what you want in exchange," Zhou Xianyang said.

Han Li immediately pulled out the token that was hidden up his sleeve and handed it to Zhou Xianyang without any hesitation, who accepted the tablet while also slipping a jade slip into Han Li's grasp.

"I'll be going on ahead then, Fellow Daoist Han. Make sure to look after yourself," Zhou Xianyang communicated through voice transmission, then departed from the Nine Origins Pavilion with the first group of cultivators to leave.

Han Li had finally obtained the information that would help him rescue Jin Tong, but he still couldn't think of a good plan that would allow him to slip away unnoticed.

As one group of cultivators left after another, the number of people in the palace continued to dwindle, and finally, Han Li was among the final dozen or so cultivators who were still yet to leave.

Elder Yu took a glance at Han Li and the others, then turned to the final Nine Origins Temple elder as he instructed, "Take them away."

The elder gave an affirmative response, then led Han Li and the others out of the Nine Origins Pavilion.

Han Li was walking along at the very rear of the group, and he noticed out of his peripheral vision that Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's entire body was enshrouded in a layer of faint, blue light, and that there was a semi-transparent, longan-sized blue bead hovering above his head, giving off bursts of incredibly formidable water law power fluctuations.

Under the nourishment of these water law power fluctuations, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian had already fully recovered from his external injuries, but his aura was still wavering in an unsteady fashion, clearly indicating that the starpower wreaking havoc in his body still hadn't been eradicated.

Right at this moment, an intense sense of foreboding suddenly welled up in Han Li's heart, and he was so alarmed that he immediately abandoned his disguise, channeling his Reversal True Axis ability to instantly rush from the very rear of the group to the forefront.

However, right as he sprang into action, the surrounding air temperature abruptly plummeted drastically as a burst of glacial power swept over the entire Nine Origins Pavilion.

Han Li was in the process of passing by a group of Lake Mountain Sect elders when he saw them freeze solid right before his very eyes, and he was also frozen to the spot in the instant that he was about to make it out of the pavilion.

All of a sudden, he felt as if the entire world had been frozen solid, and what was even more alarming was that a burst of incredibly potent glacial power had infiltrated his body, freezing his immortal spiritual power and rendering him unable to channel his Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra.

It was a very strange feeling that was much like back when his soul had been sealed by the Origin Separation Law Chains, and it was as if his own immortal spiritual power no longer belonged to him.

Thankfully, he still had his physical prowess to resort to, and he hurriedly channeled his Heavenly Baleful Purgatory Arts.

All of the profound acupoints all over his body lit up at once, releasing bursts of formidable starpower to strike at the layer of blue ice crystals that he had been encased in.

However, the blue ice crystals displayed no signs of receding at all, and to compound Han Li's woes even further, they were releasing bursts of glacial power to infiltrate his body, spreading toward his internal organs.

He could even feel his own heart becoming colder and colder, while his heartbeat was also slowing, and he hurriedly called upon the Essence Fire Raven to protect his internal organs.

At the same time, the entire interior of the Nine Origins Pavilion had been sealed in ice, and everyone inside had been reduced to human ice sculptures, presenting a beautiful yet chilling sight to behold.

Immortal Envoy Feng Tian naturally hadn't been encased in ice like everyone else, and he had already opened his eyes to regard Lu Chuanfeng with an inquisitive gaze.

"What are you doing, Palace Master Lu? Why have you released your spirit domain?"

"Don't be alarmed, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian. There's still a little Reincarnation Palace rat in this place, and I'll withdraw my spirit domain once I've captured him," Lu Chuanfeng explained as his gaze fell upon Han Li, and the sense of foreboding in Han Li's heart only deepened upon seeing this.

At the same time, he was feeling very perplexed. He had been wearing his black Reincarnation Palace mask this entire time, and he hadn't done anything to expose himself, so how had Lu Chuanfeng managed to see through his disguise.

At the moment, all he could do was channel his Heavenly Baleful Purgatory Arts with all his might to try and break free from the glacial prison that he had been encased in, while the Essence Fire Raven did everything in its power to ward off the glacial power that was infiltrating his body.

Simultaneously, he was also frantically contacting the vial spirit of the Heaven Controlling Vial with his spiritual sense. If worse came to worst, then transmigration would be his only ticket to safety.

However, if he had to resort to that, then he would definitely have to leave the Nine Origins Temple, and that would make the objective of saving Jin Tong even more impossible to achieve.

"There's a Reincarnation Palace cultivator among these people?" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian asked in a surprised manner.

"Initially, I wasn't certain, but in the instant that I released my spirit domain, he used the True Mantra Sect's Great Five Elemental Illusion Mantra, so my suspicions have been confirmed," Lu Chuanfeng replied with a smile.

"Let me see who it is," Immortal Envoy Feng Tian said in a cold voice as he rose to his feet, dusting off the ice crystals that had taken shape over his robes as he made his way over to Lu Chuanfeng's side.

"If I'm not mistaken, this man is none other than Han Li, a very active fugitive that's only recently appeared on the Immortal Slaying List," Lu Chuanfeng said as he pointed a finger at Han Li.

A flash of recollection appeared in Immortal Envoy Feng Tian's eyes upon hearing this, and upon noticing his reaction, Lu Chuanfeng remarked, "It seems like you've heard of him, Immortal Envoy Feng Tian."

"I have, indeed. He has repeatedly meddled in our Heavenly Court's affairs and even stormed into the lesser Golden Origin Immortal Palace and killed Palace Master Dongfang Bai. Immortal Lord Miao Fa was sent to personally capture him, yet even she failed to detain him, but it seems like his luck has finally run out!" Immortal Envoy Feng Tian said in an ecstatic manner.

"It sounds like he has a rather extensive history of opposing the Heavenly Court," Lu Chuanfeng remarked.
