A Mate For The Last Lycan
Chapter 155: MYSTERIOUS MAN IN THE CHAPEL

Chapter 155: MYSTERIOUS MAN IN THE CHAPEL

Twelve more curses to go for them to complete the beauty blood and from the look of it, they could force it, if only Khaos agreed.

It came as a surprise for them too that Zuri’s endurance was quite high. She was strong enough to be inflicted with multiple curses in such short period of time.

Probably it had something to do with the fact that she was with Khaos right now. The connection and attachment between them were strong, because Khaos didn’t bond with any other woman. He didn’t have a destined mate to share the attachment and affection.

"Yes, but the attachment between them can be a trouble. As we can see right now. The alpha is very reluctant to give her up and push forward with the next ritual even though, as we can see, the Shell is ready."

Elijah was talking to someone in the darkness. He was in the hidden chapel, sitting in one of the pews, while someone was sitting right behind him.

It was hard to tell, who was this man, because he was wearing this black cloak that covered his face and almost his whole body, aside from his hands. If you looked at him closely, you would be able to see the tattoo on his thumb. It was a simple tattoo. A small crescent moon in his inner right thumb, as if it was a birthmark instead of a tattoo.

"The alpha is only confused with his own feeling, because he has never experienced a mate bond before, so this attachment is very profound for him." His voice was calm and reassuring. Even when you couldn’t see his face, you would still be able to feel his strong presence that demanded your undivided respect. "Let him be for the meantime. He is trying to get his hand on the golden stamp. Once he got it, we will make a move on the Shell."

Elijah thought about it for a while and then nodded. It made senses. There was no point to distract the alpha’s concentration on getting the Verity Stamp.

"You are right. The Shell can wait. She is rather sober and coherent enough for a Shell, who has been inflicted by eighty eight curses. The Shell can wait."

Both of them didn’t even call Zuri by her name, because for Elijah and this mysterious man, Zuri was nothing, but a subject for them to achieve their goal.

They rallied behind the last lycan, moving in secret to omit their wrongdoings, but in their twisted mind, this was for the lycan’s benefit. This was the effort to show the alpha how serious they were to revive the old dynasty and avenge their family that died during the massacre three decades ago.

"Assist him and do not make any move against the Shell just yet. The alpha will be defensive."

And after saying that last words, that mysterious man stood up and walked out of the room.

Elijah stayed there for a while and prayed for the death of his magic users. Despite their devotion, alpha Khaos still didn’t believe them and this disappointed him greatly.

However, he still had a faith on the alpha.

On the other hand, the next day after the arrival of the king, they had breakfast together in the dining hall, where the king and the alpha sat next to each other with Zuri and princess Rose beside them.

"We should hold your union right away, both of you seemingly get along really well."

"There is no rush," Khaos said casually. He glanced at Zuri, who was stabbing her meat. Annoyed because Khaos kept putting the food into her plate.

"Luna Zuri, I think it’s alright to be more active. You have been with alpha Khaos for a long time, people will talk if you two still don’t have a union," Princess Rose chimed in. She smiled kindly, as if she was the queen, someone with higher status than Zuri, giving an advice to her subject.

This morning, Zuri was exceptionally snappy. The voices in her head kept talking rubbish about killing the king or Rose. She had been trying to avoid a conversation with her, but here she was, being so sweet with her advice.

Zuri cut her meat with exaggeration and when she tilted her head to look at Rose, her gaze sent shiver down the princess’s spine. Gayle, who watched this from the sideline felt his heart almost jumped out of his chest. The alpha should have secured the knife in Zuri’s hand before she gave in to her impulse and hurl it to the princess’s face, because from the look of it, that was what she wanted to do.

"Thank you, princess. I should give the same advice to you," Zuri smiled, but there was nothing good from it, while Khaos leaned back to his chair and watched everything unfolded. "It’s alright to be more active, because while I am younger than you, I managed to secure almost two unions."

Storm clouded Rose’s eyes when she heard that. It was a sore spot for her and Zuri hit where it hurt the most.

Meanwhile, Dacre mimicked Khaos’s gesture, he was impressed by how bold Zuri was. He didn’t pay close attention to her before when she was still with Xaden, but this woman looked interesting.

Rose was not his mate, thus the king didn’t feel the need to step in in this petty banter.

"Thank you for your advice, luna Zuri. I really appreciate it." Rose was quick to compose herself and she looked as graceful as ever. "It’s hard for a woman with royal blood like me to find someone that could match my status."

Rose glanced at Khaos and Zuri was close to throw the knife in her hand to her eyes if it was not for Khaos, who finally took away the dangerous weapon.

"Royal family should keep their blood pure. It’s a pity that alpha Khaos has been promised to someone else."

Zuri frowned at Khaos for taking her knife away.
