Chapter 84: Chapter 83: Fangs Behind the Gate

"What is that large door?"

"Is the so-called Boss Room? The door is massive!"

"I feel a bit uneasy...it’s almost suffocating..."

"I can’t help but feel a bit intimidated..."

Celina and her party were standing infront of the Boss Room of the F-Rank Dungeon they were in, after crossing through the 2nd floor and killing the last bit of enemies, they were finally lead here.

’I...feel a bit uneasy...’ Celina thought, feeling the strong Mana radiating from the Boss room cascading on her skin, the air colder than ice.

’This is going to be their first ever real Boss battle, I just hope they can push through and nobody gets seriously injured during this. I’d have to step in and finish everything in case it did.’

Zoey thought, observing the group as she looked over at Celina and nodded.

Celina swallowed hard, but was determined than ever to get through this. Zoey had told her all about Bosses, how their strength compares to the enemies beneath it, amd the great treasures that could be gained from defeating one. Assuming they were lucky enough to trigger a Drop.

She walked forward and placed her hands on the large door, which resembled a massive wooden gate that loomed over them heavily. Beside it, two torches stood, flickering ominously with their burning flames, illuminating the place with an eerie light.

The door creaked against the stone beneath, as Celina pushed the door open with her strength, grunting a bit under the pressure as she found it to be a bit difficult.

The door swung open as they were lead to a massive room with a gigantic silver wolf seemingly asleep on the rough ground, it’s beautiful fur shimmering like diamonds, it’s size terrifying, and the Mana radiating from it’s body an even bigger concern to worry about.

"!!!" Celina’s eyes widened in shock as she laid eyes on the beast, the air in her lungs leaving her body as she froze in place, stunned by what she was actually seeing.

Everyone was equally as tensed, as they saw the gargantuan size of the monster, and without even being near it, they could feel that this monster was an extremely strong one, stronger than the monsters they had faced so far.

’Hmmm....it shouldn’t pose much of a threat if they can work together to defeat it, Celina is actually pretty close in terms of power when it will come to facing this beast, as she is an E-Rank Hunter, being level 6.’ Her main boost coming from awakening as an peak F-Ranker, so she got a huge head start in comparison to everyone else present.

Zoey turned to look at everyone, "There’s no turning back now, that’s the Boss, you’re biggest threat, and the biggest treasure for your growth as Hunters.

If any of you have any Stat Points left to distribute, I’d recommend doing that now, as this will not be an easy fight."

34 Strength, Vitality 40, 10 Intelligence, and 27 Defense." She said.

Celina had 15 Stat Points from leveling up five times, so she had quite a bit to do alot with. Since she was a Damage Dealer primarily, she would need to invest those points into physical power, so Intelligence didn’t matter to her.

Celina, after thinking about it a bit, distributed 5 Points across Strength, Defense, and Vitality, leaving nothing for Intelligence. She felt a strange warmth spread through her body as she could immediately feel the effects of the point distribution, and she liked it.

’39 Strength, 45 Vitality, 10 Intelligence, and 32 Defense, this should be good enough.’ Celina thought, looking at her Status Window and nodding approvingly.

The rest of the Hunters also quickly distributed their Stat Points, increasing them in the right areas that depended on their roles. They were all level 3, so they only had 6 Stat Points to distribute, which wasn’t really alot, but anything helped at this point.

"Is everyone ready?" Celina asked, whispering to them as to not wake the Boss as she looks over shoulder.

She receives the nods of the Hunters, who immediately get into position without needing her to tell them to. The Tanks moved forward, the Mages prepared their spells, the Damage Dealers stood beside Celina, their weapons drawn and ready.

Celina looked at the Mages, raising a hand in the air. She signalled a countdown with her fingers, going from 5, and slowly going down to one, before throwing her hand down, starting the battle.

BOOOM!!!

A maddening explosion rang out as a massive fireball collided with the large wolf, flames dancing all around it’s body as it was covered with fire and smoke, a deafening roar leaving it’s jaws as it awoke to intruders attacking it.

"Tanks! Damage Dealers! Get ready!" Celina ordered, her voice raised as a bright blue aura formed around her, [Rabbit’s Gift] being activated as she dashed forward with brilliant speed, running towards the Boss monster.

The silver wolf snarled as it saw her approaching, and immediately charged at her as well, it’s paws pounding on the ground as it ran with incredible agility.

The silver wolf leaped toward her as it opened it’s jaws to bite at her, but with her insane speed she easily avoided the attack, countering with her own.

Her blade flashed as she cut across one of it’s legs, injuring as the beast let out a grunt of pain, swiping at her with it’s large paws.

She dodges by leaping to the side, a powerful gush of air rushing by her as even though the attack missed, she knew that if she got hit, that would’ve hurt really badly.

’I got it’s attention, now I just need to distract it for the Damage Dealers to do attack it more!’ Celina thought, watching as a few pierced the silver wolf in it’s side, causing it to roar out in pain even more.

The silver wolf looked at the Hunters that were rushing toward it, the Tanks were making their toward the monster quickly as they ran beside the other Damage Dealers protect them in case they got attacked.

From the back, a singular archer stood infront of the Mages, a bow in their hand. The silver wolf immediately became irritated as it found the one that hit it just now, it’s eyes glowing red with fury.

Slash! Whoosh!

Celina fought hard against the silver wolf, but the beast proved to be a formidable opponent against her as they were practically on the same level. It could dodge attacks, and counter with it’s own as well.

[Rabbit’s Gift] was proving to be an incredibly useful Talent as she was fast enough to avoid the attacks and counter attack a few times, the Damage Dealers assisting in the battle as they would also deal damage from time to time, wearing the health of the Boss down slowly.

’Oh my! They’re doing way better than I expected!’ Zoey observed amazed, a grin plastered onto her face.

Another massive fireball was cast from the Mages as they hurled it at the silver wolf.

Seeing the attack coming, the beast leaped to the side to avoid it, a massive explosion occuring from it’s original position, disorienting the Hunters as they suffered some damage from the flames.

"Are you all okay!?" Celina asked concerned, looking at the forms of the Hunters which were a injured by the flames. Fortunately, they didn’t suffer any major damage, losing around 10-20% Health.

"Watch out!!" A Tank yelled at her as he rushed towards her, shield in hand, steps rushed as he looked at the silver wolf that looked to be charging a powerful attack.

The silver wolf opened it’s massive jaws, a powerful swirling blue vortex of light swirling around it, becoming increasingly wild and powerful as a powerful wind attack was charged, the air spinning around it’s form violently.

The silver wolf let out a defeaning roar that shook the walls as a strong wind blast was shot out of it’s mouth, rapidly heading towards Celina and the Tank.

Before she could react, the blast was already in her face, mere inches away from slamming into her.

!!!

"Alright, I guess it’s time for me to step in now." Zoey’s voice quickly reached their ears as she appeared infront of them in a blink of an eye, parrying the blast of wind with a [Stone Carved Shield], a powerful explosion ringing out around her as the Hunters were blown away by the force.

Celina landed on the ground, recovering from the effects of the blast. She looked up to see Zoey standing before them, shield in hand.

Dust clouds surrounding her being, but she was completely fine, not a single scratch on her body.

The wolf growled as it looked at Zoey with fear in it’s eyes, recognizing the immense gap of power between them, backing away cautiously.

"Are you both okay?" Zoey asked, looking over her shoulder at the both of them.

"Yeah, thank you." Celina said, nodding. She let out a sigh of relief, her gaze dropped to the ground, a flash of disappointment lingering in her eyes.

She had promised herself that she would lead them all to victory, but she ended being saved by Zoey instead.

"What are you doing? The Boss is still alive, go on and kill it." Zoey said, flashing a grin, a blue light appearing around her as she stored the [Stone Carved Shield] inside her [Inventory], walking to the wall as she leaned on it, crossing her arms.

"Eh? I thought you were going to..." She glanced at the silver wolf, which still didn’t dare approach them now that Zoey was close to them, it could feel the power radiating off her practically suffocating it.

’I’d probably want to take the skill it was using by killing it, but...these guys need it more than I do, plus the Experience from the Boss won’t benefit me much anyways.’ Zoey thought, shrugging as she replied.

"I’m not going to kill it, I’m just here to act as support. This is your first Dungeon Boss, everything won’t go smoothly without solid experience, so for total amateurs, you’re doing increasingly well so far. Now you just need to finish it off."

Celina looked at Zoey for a moment, before a smile formed on her face, slowly rising up from the ground and grabbing her sword, turning to face the Boss with a intimidating glare in it’s eyes.

’My members are injured, so the Damage Dealers and Tanks won’t be of much help due to the damage they took from the fireball.

I’m the only one, apart from the Mages, that can take it on next.’ She thought, looking at the Healers that were quickly treating the injured Hunters, her resolve tightening.

"Mages, stand down. I’ll be taking it alone from here."
