A Hundred Times: Ascending With The Strongest System -
Chapter 43 - 42: King’s Fury
Chapter 43: Chapter 42: King’s Fury
Zoey took one last glance at the Boss Room as the battle came to an end. The fight was way easier than she had anticipated, as she glanced at the [Void Requiem] Sword in her hands.
’I can’t let them know that I can already wield the blade, I’ll just keep using [Knight’s Oath] infront of them to avoid suspicion.’ Zoey thought with a nod as she stored away [Volt Requiem] before the messages of the system flashed infront of her.
[You Have Received Some Drops!]
[+Lizardmen King Core(D+)x1]
[+Lizardmen General’s Eye(D)x1]
[+King’s Fury(C)x1]
[Activating Talent: A Hundredfold Ascension]
[+Lizardmen King Core(D+)x100]
[+Lizardmen General’s Eye(D)x100]
[+King’s Fury(C)x100]
’Nice! I got the one of their Skills!’ Zoey rejoiced inwardly, finding herself to be truly lucky, as most Hunters don’t secure Skill Books easily, but luck was on Zoey’s side today.
Ignoring the other notifications about the Materials she received, Zoey opened her [Inventory] as she checked out the Skill’s Description. An excited smile forming on her face as she read the Skill’s contents:
[King’s Fury(C)]
[Description: Dropped from defeating the Lizardmen King. Once activated, your Defense and Attack will be heightened severely, granting your immense strength and durability for a limited period of time.]
[Effect-1: Arrogant Might: Your Intelligence will be lowered as your strength skyrockets, as your confidence soars, granting you an arrogant and defiant alter ego in this state. -30% Intelligence while active.
(Note: If the skill is pushed beyond it’s limits, the host will enter a Beserk State, where the Host’s power will soar by 150%, at the cost of their sanity for ten minutes. Permanent loss to Intelligence is possible when inflicted with the Beserk State.)]
’....Hmmm....’ Zoey’s eyes narrowed as she read the description of the [King’s Fury] Skill. She was genuinely happy to have obtained a Skill Book from the Boss, and it was even better as this Skill was a C-Rank one.
However, while the Skill was without a doubt powerful, the cons were also gonna be a problem. She would enter an alter ego that thrives on confidence while the Skill is active, that would probably impact her strategic thinking.
The Beserk State also concerned her a bit, as she knew that this would definetly be a problem for her, and it could only be used as a last resort. Along with the permanent possibility of losing her Intelligence, something very important to Mages, she didn’t want something like to happen to her.
’But I’m confident I can overcome the negative effects of this Skill, I’m no longer weak, I’m far stronger than I was a few days ago, and I’ll continue to grow stronger as time moves on.’ Zoey thought with a determined expression as she gazed at the Skill Book in her hands, before flipping it open as a bright dazzling light bloomed from the book’s pages, a huge amount of information entering her mind.
[You Have Gained A New Skill!]
[King’s Fury Lv1 Has Been Added To Your List Of Skills.]
’Good.’ Zoey nodded in satisfaction, before sitting down on the floor of the Boss Room. Since she now had an abundance of Items to use, she decided that she will use them to level up all of her Skills to Level 100.
Zoey immediately took out everything she had, Skill Books, Materials, and Cores. It was time to absorb all the Experience like crazy and become far more powerful.

"It’s been about 20 minutes, and still no sign of Zoey. Man, this could take a while." An agent sighed as he stood by the side of the portal.
Another agent, a woman, nodded in response. "This is a D-Rank Dungeon afterall, plus, Zoey isn’t that strong, so she can’t instantly clear dungeons like the High-Rankers can. We might need to go in an assist her after an hour passes." The other agent said, leaning against the car that brought them here.
"Hopefully she doesn’t die in there, the guild invested a ton in her-" Just then, the sounds of the portal distorting caught their attention, as Zoey walked out of the portal. She was perfectly unharmed, her steps were confident, although....they couldn’t help but notice this strange aura about her....her entire being radiated with power that sent chills down their spine.
Zoey walked towards the car without saying a word and climbed in, her expression full of focus and determination. The agents shot each other a glance, before one of them sighed in dissapointment.
"She must’ve quit, the dungeon was probably too much for her-" The agent was interrupted as the portal shifted, glowing brighter as it shrunked in on itself, dissapearing from the world.
’Wha....’ The agent couldn’t help but stare in shock, his gaze falling on Zoey who was in the car, waiting for them. They had expected her to fail like the others had, as they deemed her too confident in her abilities, since she had stated in the contract to go on hunts by herself.
But that didn’t happen, she had succeeded. While the previous party got overwhelmed, nearly losing their lives, she didn’t have a scratch on her, no wounds, or no signs of damage done to her.
"What kind of monster did the Guild recruit into our midst?" The agent whispered to his partner, his voice carrying shock and a hint of awe.
"Well, she is ranked 15th in the Elite Rankings, so it makes sense for her to be able to beat this dungeon. Her battle prowess must be exceptional, as i heard that she took down a C-Rank Ice Mage, without much of a sweat." The agent whispered back, causing more shock to appear on the guy’s face.
’Sigh...I can hear these fools. So annoying.’ Zoey thought with a sigh, crossing her arms as she heard the door of the car opening, the two agents climbing in.
As the car sped off, Zoey sunk back into her seat as her mind plunged into deep contemplation. She had a Trial to complete tonight, and couldn’t rest until she prepares as much as she can.
’Once I get back to the guild and hand in my share of Items. I’ll start accepting Low-Dungeon Clearing Missions, Restricted To D-Rank, and one more, ending with a C-Rank Dungeon.
The Trial will definetly be much harder than the first one, as it is designed to test my growth, as the rewards scale along with it too. I need to be ready, I need to gain Skills and max them out to their full potential, before I go to sleep tonight.’
Zoey thought with determination as she clenched her fists, a sharp sigh escaping her lips as she exhaled deeply. She glanced out the window as the car continued to drive back towards the City, a few Dungeon Entrances visible as many Hunters went to go clear them, before they had the chance to break.
Zoey closed her eyes as she waited to arrive at the Raging Phoenix Guild.
----------
After a while, the car pulled up to the Raging Phoenix Guild. The agents quickly got out as they went over to open the door for Zoey, allowing her to step out as she glanced around the guild a bit.
’Hm?’ Zoey raised an eyebrow in suprise, her gaze fell on a rather luxurious car that only either extremely wealthy people had access to, or belonging to an important figure. The car was guarded by agents, but she could tell that these agents weren’t from the guild, as on their chest was a special emblem, one that she quickly recognized.
"Golden Hawk Academy..." Zoey muttered to herself, they had come. The Best Hunter Academy in Zolorius City had come to the guild, she looked ahead as she saw more cars parked next to the luxurious car, more agents present by each and every one of them, all having different emblems on their chests that showed the Academy they belonged to.
’Are they here for me?’ Zoey couldn’t help but raise a thought, it was definetly the most logical conclusion her mind had came up with, as news of her A+Rank Talent did shock many people across various cities.
Zoey sighed as she mentally prepared herself, she knew that the heads of the different academies would probably fight hard to secure her into their Academy. However, Zoey was still going to set up conditions for these guilds if they were after her.
She moved into the guild as she walked towards the receptionist, to which she quickly gave a few remains of the Items she managed to secure in the guild, a suprised gasp coming out of the mouth of the receptionist upon seeing the Skill Book: [King’s Fury]
The receptionist quickly handled the transaction and sent a bountiful amount of money into Zoey’s bank account, a grin forming on her face at the amount, and how she was planning on using it.
As she moved to Sarina’s office to report about the completed Task, she couldn’t help but feel a strong glare pierce her back. One that made her skin crawl.
’What the hell?’ Zoey thought as she turned around to see a Hunter with Silver hair and piercing eyes approaching her, radiating an aura of power far greater than hers.
’Isn’t that....’ Zoey’s eyes widened immediately upon recognizing the person approaching her, the strongest B-Rank Hunter in Zolorius City.
