Volume 15 Chapter 15: Why Am I Here?

One day, Keith headed into the garden and stared at the flowers. It was intriguing to him. There weren't many types of flowers here. It was only filled with two types. Either way, it was time for him to make some flower tea.

It was simple enough; just use some petals and other herbs when brewing. Hot water was poured over the top, allowing it to seep into the petals.

While he made the tea, someone latched onto him from behind. A sigh escaped his mouth, "That's dangerous. What if I was cooking? I could've gotten burnt." 

Scarlet pouted as her cheeks bulged, "You would have said something to me before it happened." This man had eyes behind the back of his head. He could hear and sense them a mile away before they even had the chance to do anything.

Worrying about getting burnt was nothing. 

"..." Keith said nothing while Scarlet leaned closer as she looked down, "Are you making tea with the flowers?" The aroma reminded her of the flowers outside.  

“Mmhmm.” 

“Then, could you add milk to it? It’s the best!” 

“Alright, I will bring condensed milk.” Keith chuckled, “Go get Eri.” 

“Okay!” The demon princess left while Keith prepared everything. Eri and the other little ones were eating some pancakes. Scarlet smiled, “Pancakes are so fluffy.” Paired with the milk tea, it was a powerful combination.

Keith sighed. Thank goodness I used less sugar. He replaced the sugar with honey when preparing the batter. Eri was eating so happily that his face loosened up. 

“By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask, why did you call me here again?” 

“Eh?”    

“Don’t "Eh," me. You asked me to come here because there was a problem. So what is it?” Keith was confused about why he was there.  

Lilith blinked as she stared at Scarlet with a profound gaze. 

Scarlet smiled wryly, “Umm, the problem isn’t here yet.” 

“It’s not here?” Keith blinked, “I’m getting more confused by the minute.” 

“Don’t worry about it so much.” Scarlet looked down, “Can you brew more tea, please.” 

“…Sure.” Keith picked up the pitcher and headed inside. While he did, Lilith turned to Scarlet, “Are you really not going to tell him about it? Keith ought to know.” 

“…” 

“Scarlet, I know what you’re trying to do. But not telling him about it is awful.” Lilith couldn’t hide her expression as they talked. It was going to be horrible once Keith found out. She should rip the bandage off rather than leave it there.

“I will tell him about it soon, grandmother.” Scarlet moved her head away, trying her best not to say anything about it. 

“…” This girl. Lilith could only shake her head. What was going to happen next was a concern.

Scarlet then suggested, “How about we go out and explore more of the demon kingdom!” 

“Again?” Keith blinked. But that was when Scarlet held his arm, “Come on! Where is your adventure’s spirit? We should go out and do something about this!” 

“...” Keith frowned, “Why do I get the feeling that something happened?” This was too forced; they would take breaks before going out. But for Scarlet, she was not an outdoor person. Suspicious. Scarlet had an idea on how to change it, “Eri, how about we go out again!”  

“Okay!” Eri nodded! Clearly, she didn’t understand what was going on from this. Keith’s eyes twitched. This fox! To think she would use Eri as her excuse!

“Fine,” There was no choice in this matter. Since she had gotten Eri on board with this. He had no choice but to follow her. Though he continued to give the woman the stink eye. You had to bring Eri into this? 

Scarlet stuck out her tongue, clearly not happy about doing this. However, she was going to do it. The group was about to leave when a maid came over,

“Princess, there’s someone who wishes to speak with you.” 

“...” Scarlet froze. The maids added, “The prince is already there, and the grand duke is there as well.” 

“...” Scarlet froze even further when she heard that. Keith scratched his head, “Then I and Eri will stay inside.” But he then corrected himself, “Actually, Eri, can you play with Fira inside the room?”

“Okay!” Eri was fine with that.

“Let’s go.” Keith held onto her hand calmly. That alone made Scarlet’s mouth curve upwards in happiness. “Thank you.” Attentive as always.

When there was an issue or a situation, Keith would always be there to help out. The two headed over to a room; Tharaziel was in there.

The man had the usual downward gaze on his face. However, the person who made this situation bizarre was the other demon that was in there. He had a cocky look as he was staring at them.
