Chapter 56: Exchanging Gifts
After the ceremony, the students left the hall one by one. Some students took advantage of the early evening to continue training at their favorite training grounds, while others returned to their dormitories. They needed to prepare for tomorrow’s competition.
After saying goodbye to her dad in the hall, Arix went backstage. She quickly changed back into her training clothes. After carefully folding her military uniform, she stored it in her Space Button like treating the most precious treasures.
After making sure everything was done, she walked out of the hall alone.
As soon as she stepped outside, Arix saw her dear brother Drexel. The guy was standing not far away by a small grove, waving at her energetically.
"Arix, come here." Drexel called out with a bright, mischievous smile, as if he had something exciting to share.
Arix raised an eyebrow, curious. Although she didn’t know what her Drexel was up to, she decided to go over and see.
As soon as Arix approached, she discovered that it wasn’t just Drexel; there were five familiar faces in the grove.
"Why are you all here?" asked Arix.
"Arix, aren’t you happy to see us?" Adrian bounded over to Arix like a big golden retriever, playfully asking with a mock sad look.
Arix’s eyes softened, and she smiled as she ruffled Adrian’s hair, "I’m very happy, just a bit surprised."
"Great, here, Arix, this is a gift I got for you, congratulations on your military rank." Adrian pulled out a mecha figurine from his Space Button and handed it to Arix.
"Thank you, I really like it." Arix accepted the mecha figurine, examining it with curiosity and a smile.
"Arix, here’s my gift. Knowing you like mecha, I prepared this Star-Class energy stone for you. I hope you become a mecha master soon!" Cirilla took out a small box, opened it herself, and displayed the Star-Class energy stone inside.
The energy stone, which is placed at the chest of a mecha, not only powers the mecha but also enhances its weaponry.
This simple black stone might look ordinary, but a Star-Class energy stone starts at a million dollars. Moreover, it’s usually not available for purchase as such resources are generally monopolized by officials.
Thus, this gift was truly a heartwarming surprise for Arix.
"Thank you, Cirilla." Arix joyfully accepted the energy stone.
Nearby, Varden took out a slightly larger box from his Space Button and handed it to Arix, saying, "This is my gift for you. Open it and see, I hope you like it."
Curious, Arix opened the box and was surprised to find a mini Space Button inside, along with a set of exquisite alchemy equipment.
"Thank you. I was just wanting a set of alchemy equipment, and now I don’t need to buy one." Arix laughed happily.
"Glad you like it." Varden looked at Arix affectionately.
"Arix, congratulations on being the first to receive a military rank. This is my gift for you, a platinum card for. That gives you a membership of all my family’s business. From now on, anything you buy from my family’s store comes with a 40% discount," Elio said as he handed Arix a black card with a golden Damsey logo on it.
"Wow, Elio, you got any more? Give me one too." Drexel knew that the Lasairs had stores throughout the Alliance and even in the Empire. From everyday needs to mecha battleships, there was nothing the Lasairs didn’t sell. So, even though it was just a card, its value was incredibly high.
Elio rolled his eyes at Drexel and said, "No more. I can only give out one card a year. If you want one, wait until next year."
"Alright, it’s a deal then!" Drexel immediately responded with a happy smile.
Arix blinked, surprised by how important this discount card was, and accepted the black gold card with a sense of gravity, politely saying, "Thank you, Elio."
"Hey, Elio, don’t forget about us. Remember to get us one too," Cirilla chimed in, clearly envious.
"What? You think these cards are wholesale? That everyone gets one?" said Elio as he looked at his eagerly anticipating friends in disbelief.
"You’re the heir to the Lasair family; if you can’t do it, no one can. Be generous... OK, forget about Adrian, he doesn’t need one, but the four of us are counting on you," Cirilla teased, raising an eyebrow and blinking with a smile.
Elio looked at his four companions and finally sighed, "I’ll ask my old man when I get back. If he agrees, I’ll do it. As for Shuai Shuai, I can at least give him a golden card with a 20% discount."
Elio then took out a gold card from his Space Button and handed it over.
"Thank you," Adrian said, delightedly accepting the golden card.
His big sister, Cirilla, is the family heir, and she would eventually receive a platinum card from Lasairfamily. As for Adrian, getting a gold card now was lucky enough, and he was happy to show off to his elders at home.
"Wow, Elio, always so generous," Drexel and the others gave him thumbs up, even Zephyr, usually as cold as ice, followed suit with a thumbs up.
"Alright, alright, let’s see what Zephyr has prepared for a gift," Elio, slightly shy, changed the subject.
Zephyr, his face as expressionless as ever, silently took out a delicate, small energy pistol for ladies from his space.
"Ah, knew it would be a gun," Elio said with a knowing look.
"Yep, Zephyr always likes giving guns. He gave me one for my birthday last time too," Drexel suddenly laughed, remembering something.
"My great-grandfather too! At his age, nearly toothless, he received a gun. You should have seen his face; I almost died laughing," Elio laughed heartily.
"And there’s my little cousin who was just born. Thankfully, it was a model gun. Otherwise, my aunt and uncle would have flipped out right there, haha," Cirilla also recalled, laughing so hard she was shaking like a leaf.
