Chapter 155: Videos Disappearing

Chapter 155: Videos Disappearing

"We’ll delete them all after we deal with him," Drexel assured. He wouldn’t let those videos keep circulating, knowing the harm they could cause. The resolve in his eyes grew even sharper.

"So, what’s your plan?" Arix asked, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

Drexel hesitated, his cold demeanor faltering. "It’s not really something for girls to hear. Just wait for the result if you’re curious."

Arix pouted but had a good idea of his plan. Her curiosity won out. "Tell me, and I’ll increase your share of the potion shop profits by 5%."

Drexel swallowed hard, tempted. "You sure you want to know? It’s kinda gross."

"Spill it," Arix insisted, confident she could handle it.

"Alright, just a moment." Drexel adjusted the opticomputer to mute and pulled out a cloth strip from his Space Button, tying it tightly over his eyes. Arix watched silently.

"Arix, you can see the rest for yourself. I won’t go into detail," Drexel said. He opened the unspeakable files and embedded the scary videos into all the existing ones.

Once done, Drexel exited the opticomputer and removed the blindfold, looking at Arix. "Got it?"

Arix touched her nose, impressed, and gave a thumbs up. "I heard if men got terrified while entertaining themselves... they’d have trouble getting it work ever again."

"Wow... how did you know that? But... yeah, that’s true," Drexel replied with a sinister smile.

Arix asked, "Are you sure it will work?"

"I’ve checked. He usually watches those files around 9 PM every night. I’ll keep a close eye on him, and once it works, I’ll call the police right away. Then I’ll destroy the videos," Drexel said seriously. He wasn’t one to joke about such matters.

"Alright, you keep an eye on him. I’m heading back to the bedroom," Arix said, feeling the weight of an early morning. She could use a nap.

"Sure, go ahead," Drexel replied, waving his hand. He opened his opticomputer again, and after a few quick operations, a live feed from the middle-aged man’s home surveillance system appeared on the virtual screen.

On a distant planet named Haranu, a neatly dressed middle-aged man slowly opened the door of his house. He scanned the room to make sure no one was there, then breathed a sigh of relief and placed his briefcase on the hall cabinet.

Shedding his disguise of a presentable suit and leather shoes, he reverted to his true self—a greasy, repulsive man.

He immediately headed to his secret haven. After a rough day at work, he was ready to blow off some steam in his private sanctuary.

An unpleasant smile crept across his face as he thought about it.

He quickly walked to the sofa. Unable to contain his excitement, he quickly opened his opticomputer. He projected a video from a hidden file onto a massive screen in front of him.

As he watched the young bodies on the screen, his excitement grew, and he began to engage in unspeakable acts.

As the strange and unspeakable noises in the room grew louder, the man descended into madness.

Suddenly, with a terrifying, piercing scream, a zombie with a face full of maggots and blood appeared on the virtual screen.

Her chin was missing, and where her eyes should have been were two horrifying blood holes.

The skin on her face was severely decayed, giving off a thick stench of rot and blood.

Fat, white maggots squirmed on her face, ready to drop off with the slightest movement.

This grotesque and terrifying scene made the man’s pupils shrink and eyes widen in fear.

A heart-wrenching scream echoed through his secret haven but stopped abruptly. He fainted from fright, his partially clothed body looking even more ugly and disgusting.

In the now silent secret haven, only an appliance camera was flashing a red light. Far across billions of light-years, Drexel watched the events unfold with cold indifference.

After the man passed out, Drexel, concerned for his well-being, kindly notified the interstellar police to ensure he didn’t catch a chill due to his lack of clothing.

Not wanting to risk anything happening to him before the police arrived, Drexel watched over him diligently.

Once the police arrived, Drexel turned off the remote surveillance.

With a sense of a job well done, Drexel slipped away quietly, leaving no trace.

When Arix woke up, it was already 10 PM. After freshening up, she eagerly headed to the living room.

"How did it go? Did we succeed?" Arix asked, her voice filled with curiosity and urgency.

Seeing Arix awake, Drexel put down his game controller with a smug expression. He then opened his opticomputer and turned the virtual screen towards her.

On the screen, numerous trending searches about the middle-aged man were displayed, their popularity rivaling even Arix’s previous gossips.

Arix quickly sat beside Drexel, scrolling through the screen with her finger.

Dominating the trending topics were all posts about the pervert with the mini cameras.

- "You’re being watched!"

- "Camera’s in most secret places!"

- "Beware of the electronic peeping Tom!"

- "Cameras found in major starship cabins!"

- "Haranu planet apprehends a criminal! Charged with installing nano cameras in starship cabins!"

- "Man finds cameras in starship cabin. His remark? Thank goodness I don’t have a girlfriend!"

As Arix scrolled down, she felt both repulsed and intrigued. By the time she finished reading, she breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like her eyes needed cleansing.

"So, how do you like the result?" Drexel asked, a proud smirk on his face, like a dog waiting for praise.

Arix nodded emphatically, giving him a thumbs up. "It’s incredibly satisfying. You did great!"

"Huh!!" Drexel laughed, flipping his hair with a self-satisfied grin.

"By the way, did you make sure to erase the victim’s videos?" Arix asked, concerned about any loose ends.

"Once the police finalize the charges, those videos will be automatically destroyed. If anyone tries to repost them, their opticomputer will be toast," Drexel replied, a cold smile playing on his lips.

"That’s a relief!" Arix said, completely at ease now. Hugging Drexel’s arm, she cheerfully said, "Come on, you worked hard today. Let me treat you to a late-night snack."

"Wow, you treating me snacks? That’s rare. Let’s go, I’m starving," Drexel replied happily, letting Arix cling to his arm.

The siblings, now in high spirits, walked to the dining hall, laughing and chatting along the way.

Haranu, the star where the middle-aged man lived, became the focus for the interstellar police handling the case.

After everything was settled, the police wanted to identify the victims in the videos to offer some compensation. However, as soon as they opened the files, all the videos vanished as if haunted.

At first, the police thought it was just a malfunction with their office opticomputer. They figured the archives should still have copies, so they asked a colleague in the archives to send the files over.

But as soon as the files were transferred, the opticomputer got hit by an incurable virus and completely crashed.

Before the officer could lament the loss of his brand-new opticomputer, his colleague from the archives rushed over in a panic. "Kaith, do you still have those videos? The ones in the archives just disappeared all of a sudden."

Kaith said nothing, simply handing over his broken opticomputer. The realization dawned on both of them as they exchanged glances.

Finally, the colleague sighed, "Looks like some top-notch hacker doesn’t want those videos to remain in this world."

Kaith rubbed his temples and said helplessly, "Well, it’s not necessarily a bad thing."

Maybe those victims didn’t need any compensation. Perhaps it was better for them not to know the truth and endure the pain it would bring.

Sometimes, the truth can be more devastating than a lie, cutting deeper than any knife.
