Chapter 136: Battlefield

Kares sneered but then noticed something odd. He glanced at Cassian and saw the prince remaining calm.

Only then did Kares let out a breath of relief. Turning back to Drexel, he continued his taunts. "Really? You think you can challenge the Dragon clan? If you’re so eager to get yourself embarrassed, I’ll oblige. See you at the training ground."

"Alright, it’s a deal," Drexel replied, satisfied with the outcome. He turned to Rennes and said, "Sir, that’s all for my introduction."

Rennes was speechless. A student arranging a fight during self-introductions? It had been years since he’d seen such a troublemaker.

Thankfully, Drexel would be here for just a week. Rennes decided it was best to ignore it.

Rubbing his temples in frustration, he pointed to the farthest corner of the classroom, "You’ll sit there for this week."

"Okay, sir," Drexel nodded, looking innocent and harmless.

Shaking his head, Rennes addressed the rest of the students, "Since we have a duel scheduled, today’s lesson will be practical training. Get up and follow me to the training ground."

Hearing this, Arix glanced worriedly at Drexel.

The Dragon clan’s pureblood, Kares, his psychic power was Supergiant-Class, but he could achieve Supergiant+ in physical power when in his beast form. This put him a rank above Drexel.

Sensing Arix’s worry, Drexel gave her an ’OK’ hand gesture with a smile. Then he turned back to continue his snarky exchange with Kares as they left the classroom.

"Arix, are you worried about your brother?" Cassian looked down at the little tiger in his arms and noticed her tightly folded wings, a sign of her nervousness and fear.

"Yes, I’m afraid Drexel will lose and get hurt," Arix replied, her tone somber.

"Arix, you should have more faith in him. Sometimes, even I can’t beat him," Cassian said sincerely. Arix knew he was just trying to comfort her, since it was clear who was stronger: Cassian having both psychic and physical power at Supergiant+, versus Drexel with both at just Supergiant-Class.

Even though she believed it was a kind lie, it still warmed Arix’s heart. She smiled and said, "Alright, no need to comfort me. Let’s go, we need to cheer for Drexel!"

"Okay." Cassian didn’t explain further, just smiled indulgently and carried Arix towards the training ground.

As soon as Arix and Cassian stepped into the training ground, they saw Drexel and Kares already in the dimensional battlefield, ready to duel.

The dimensional battlefield, as its name suggests, was a huge arena created using spatial technology. From the outside, it seemed small, but inside, it expanded to an enormous size.

Because of this, the dimensional battlefield was the go-to spot for students to settle scores or train. It allowed them to fight without worrying about damaging public property or being constrained by space.

Outside the battlefield, students from Class S and curious onlookers had gathered to watch. Even other classes on the training ground paused to see the action.

Soon, all the teachers and students in the area focused on the battlefield.

The excitement grew when they realized one of the fighters was an exchange student from the Alliance and the other a pureblood from the Dragon clan. Many recorded the event with their opticomputers and posted it on IRMA’s campus network with eye-catching titles:

"Shocking! A Revenge Duel by an Exchange Student from the Alliance’s Hecaris Military Academy!"

"A Grumpy Exchange Student! Dares to Challenge the Strongest Newcomer from the Dragon Clan?’"

"Alliance Military Student Drexel vs. IRMA’s Kares – Who Will Win? Stay Tuned!"

These posts quickly soared to the top of IRMA’s trending list, with comments flooding in at lightning speed:

ThornBush: "Wow, did I read that right? This year’s exchange student from the Alliance has some guts!"

QuirkyQuokka: "Didn’t the Dragon clan exchange students insulted the Hecaris before? They switched to the Alliance’s Koros Military Academy. I think anyone whose school was insulted like that would seek revenge against the Dragon clan. Still, I doubt the Alliance student will win.")

(Sparrow258: "Right! There’s nothing much to see. I bet the Alliance student will definitely lose.")

(MeowingKitty: "I’ll bet a lizard on it, LMAO.")

(GalacticGuppy: "Hey, what’s the deal with the lizard joke? Can someone explain it to me?")

(Raccoooon: "It’s because the Dragon clan’s bloodline has mixed so much that many of them look like lizards. Calling them lizards is like a stronger insult, implying they’re mongrels.")

(ZenZebra: "LOL! No wonder the Dragon clan members go crazy when they hear ’lizard’! Haha!")

(NeonNarwhal: "Hey, did you notice this year’s exchange student from the Alliance is pretty good-looking? I wonder if he’s open to interracial dating, ’cause I’m thinking of pursuing him.")

(LittleGoldfish: "Uh, pretty sure he wouldn’t care much about the interracial thing, but... are you sure he’d be open to dating a guy?")

...

The comments continued to roll in.

The campus network buzzed with activity, and the training ground was alive with gossip.

Arix listened to the crowd, which mostly cheered for Kares from the Dragon clan. Frustrated, she took a deep breath and shouted, "Drexel! Go for it! HMA will win! The lizard will lose!!!"

At first, her cheer blended into the background noise, just another voice supporting the Alliance military student. But when the last part hit their ears, every student in the training ground, even the mentors, gasped.

Calling out the Dragon clan so openly was beyond bold—it was almost a declaration of war. The entire training ground fell silent for a moment, everyone processing Arix’s words.

Cassian looked at Arix with wide eyes, a mix of admiration and worry. "Arix, that was... intense."

Arix puffed out her chest. "Someone had to say it."

Meanwhile, Drexel glanced over at Arix, a smirk forming on his lips. He gave her a quick thumbs-up before turning his full attention back to Kares, who was now seething with rage.

Kares’ eyes blazed. "You dare insult the Dragon clan? You’ll pay for that."

Drexel just shrugged, a calm smile on his face. "Guess we’ll see about that."

The tension in the training ground was palpable as the duel was about to begin, with everyone holding their breath in anticipation.
