Chapter 135: Pureblood of the Dragon Clan

When they got to Targon, Drexel suddenly put an arm around Targon’s neck and whispered, "Cousin Targon, do you know any way we can provoke the Dragon Clan? The more embarrassing, the better!"

"Why do you want to know that? You’re not planning on doing something bad, are you?" Targon looked at them suspiciously instead of answering right away.

Drexel and Arix exchanged a guilty look, then both started shaking their heads frantically.

"No, no, we would never do anything bad," Drexel said, scratching the back of his head and smiling nervously.

"Exactly, we only do good things," Arix added, her eyes darting around nervously, unable to meet Targon’s gaze.

"Heh." Targon gave a cold laugh, clearly not believing them, but he didn’t push further. Instead, he pretended to talk to himself. "I heard the Dragon Clan hates being called ’lizards.’ Not sure if that’s true, but you two definitely shouldn’t try it out."

"Got it," Drexel and Arix both said, their eyes lighting up at the same time. They exchanged excited glances and nodded enthusiastically. As for what Targon said afterward, they didn’t hear a word because they were too busy imagining the chaos they could cause.

After that, the siblings followed Targon to the office to complete their exchange student procedures.

When it was Drexel’s turn, the staff kept a cold, emotionless face throughout the process. But when it was Arix’s turn, the guy’s expression changed instantly to one of warmth and kindness.

"You’re Arix, right?" the guy asked gently.

Arix blinked in confusion and nodded. "Yes, sir."

"Since you’re also a therian, why not transfer to our Department of Chemistry here at the IRMA? It’s more suitable for you," the teacher said, looking at Arix like she was a precious herb being wasted in the wrong soil.

Arix caught on quickly and smiled apologetically. "Sorry, sir, but I’m from the Alliance, so I won’t be transferring."

"Alright then. Your paperwork is complete. If you ever change your mind, you’re always welcome here," the teacher said, waving tiredly.

Seeing this, the three of them wisely took their leave. Once outside the office, Targon finally let out the shock he had been holding in.

"Wow, Arix, do you know who that was?" Targon asked, his mouth agape.

"Who?" Arix glanced at Targon, not really interested.

Seeing her nonchalant attitude, Targon decided to scare her a bit. He leaned in and whispered, "That was Professor Fret, head of the Department of Chemistry and a Master Chemist."

"Oh, got it," Arix replied dismissively.

To Arix, the best Master Chemist would always be her granduncle. No other Master Chemist, no matter how skilled, could compare to him in her eyes.

Thinking of this, Arix suddenly missed Sims and wondered if he missed her too.

Seeing Arix’s indifferent attitude, Targon decided to drop the subject.

He felt that continuing to boast would only embarrass himself. Especially with the ten psychic power healing potions in his Space Button—potions that even Master Fret couldn’t make—he figured it was best to stay quiet.

Silently, Targon led Arix and Drexel towards the Grade 1, Class S at IRMA. As they walked, Drexel’s Hecaris Military Academy uniform drew a lot of attention from the Empire’s military students.

Most of the looks they received were a mix of curiosity, disdain, and scorn, as if they were looking at some country bumpkins.

Arix noticed that nearly every student at IRMA carried an air of superiority, a kind of "I’m noble, and you’re all beneath me" attitude.

This haughty demeanor reminded Arix of the cadets at the Snorri Military Academy back at the training base, who were just as snobbish and had the same nose-in-the-air arrogance.

In the Empire, freshmen are split into five classes, with Class S being the cream of the crop and Class D scraping the bottom.

It was no wonder that exchange students landed in Class S. IRMA wants to show off their power and give those Alliance military students a not-so-subtle warning.

After dropping the siblings at Class S, Targon headed back to his own sophomore Class S.

When Drexel and Arix walked into Class S, they got mostly unfriendly stares, especially from the Dragon clan students who looked ready to pounce like hungry wolves.

Arix instantly put on a pitiful act, whining to Drexel in a cutesy voice, "Drexel, look at that person! He’s not just mean but also... Okay, let’s be honest, he’s scaringly ugly."

Her complaint echoed, making the classroom fall silent. The Dragon clan student she pointed at slammed his desk and stood up, glaring at Arix like he wanted to send her flying right then.

Drexel raised an eyebrow, playing along with Arix’s act, and said to the Dragon clan student, "Sorry, bro. My sister is still young and doesn’t know any better. You wouldn’t hold a grudge against a child, right?"

"You—!" Kares, the Dragon clan student, was about to lose it when the mentor at the front of the class coughed, stopping him.

"Alright, are we having a class or not? The two from the Alliance, come up and introduce yourselves," said Mentor Rennes, sounding pretty cold.

Rennes wasn’t exactly kind-hearted. If the president hadn’t told him to make sure the Tiger clan’s Alliance exchange students didn’t get a bad impression, he wouldn’t have stepped in even if Arix was about to get beaten up.

Arix and Drexel noticed this. They didn’t know why the mentor was a b it unfriendly to them, but as long as it didn’t mess with their plans, they were cool with it.

The siblings exchanged a look before Arix enthusiastically jumped onto the podium to introduce herself.

"Hi everyone, I’m Arix from the Hecaris Military Academy of the Alliance. I love mechas, and I want to pilot one of my own mecha some day in the future. Also, I’m an animal lover. My favorite animal? Lizards, of course!" Arix said, sounding all naive.

As soon as she mentioned "lizards", the class’s attention shifted to the Dragon clan students. Sure enough, Siqi, the leader of the Dragon clan, couldn’t hold it in. He lashed out with a Supergiant-Class psychic power whip aimed right at Arix.

The students in Class S frowned but stayed indifferent, coldly watching it all unfold.

Arix’s lips curved into a triumphant smile as she thought to herself, "Vita, Cupid, Sophia, counterattack! Make sure he’ll be in bed for the next six months."

"Got it!" the trio responded excitedly.

But plans never go as expected. Suddenly, a psychic power barrier with a terrifying energy intercepted Arix’s attack.

Arix and Drexel both cursed inwardly, wondering who had ruined their plan. Their perfect opportunity slipped away like a bird taking flight.

Arix stared in disbelief at the barrier protecting her. Without it, Drexel would be the one lying on the ground.

She scanned Class S to identify who had sabotaged their plan and soon spotted Cassian, sitting in the back row, grinning at her like he wanted a pat on the back.

Arix sighed and facepalmed internally. It was obvious who the culprit was. She glanced at Cassian but kept quiet.

Kares, however, was less patient. He turned to Cassian, trying to keep his anger in check. "Prince Cassian, isn’t this a bit too much?"

"Too much?" Cassian replied, feigning confusion. He stood up leisurely and walked towards the podium.

As he passed Kares, a powerful psychic pressure enveloped him.

Kares, veins bulging in pain from the psychic assault, was immobilized.

Cassian’s golden eyes bore into Kares as he said, "I can do even more. If I catch you targeting Arix again, I swear by my title as the Crown Prince of the Empire, the Dragon clan’s purebloods will have a new leader by tomorrow."

Kares’s pupils contracted, and his body trembled. Ultimately, he sat down silently.

Cassian withdrew his psychic energy without giving Drexel another glance and continued to the podium.

Standing in front of Arix, his golden eyes softened, and he called her name with gentle affection, "Arix."

"Cassian, you really didn’t need to intervene. He couldn’t hurt me," Arix said with a hint of exasperation.

"Sorry, Arix, it was an instinctive reaction. I couldn’t help it," Cassian replied, spreading his hands innocently.

Seeing Cassian’s expression of faux contrition, as if saying, "I know it wasn’t right, but I’ll do it again," Arix could only indulge him.

Noticing Arix’s silence, Cassian smirked and turned to Rennes. "Sir, I’d like this new student to sit with me."

"Of course, Your Highness," Mentor Rennes agreed immediately, bowing respectfully in the Empire’s fashion.

After returning the gesture, Cassian led Arix to the back row. The two of them walked off together, completely forgetting about Drexel.

Drexel rolled his eyes, accustomed to the routine. As long as his sister was around, he always seemed to turn invisible.

Rennes hadn’t forgotten about Drexel. With a wary look, he addressed him, "Please introduce yourself, properly."

Drexel felt wronged; he hadn’t even done anything yet.

Pouting slightly, he stepped to the front. Then he glanced around at the students, and began his introduction, "Hello, everyone. I’m Drexel, the top freshman from the Department of Combat at the Alliance’s Hecaris Military Academy. Today, I’m going to challenge the pureblood cub of the Empire’s Dragon clan. If I lose, you can do whatever you want with me. But if I win, the Dragon clan must apologize."

His declaration sparked an immediate uproar. The students recalled the recent scandal where the Dragon clan had forcefully transferred a student from another military school.

Realizing this, the students grew even more excited. All eyes turned to the Dragon clan’s pureblood, eagerly awaiting his response.
