Chapter 109: Cassian In Danger

Meanwhile, Samurai, having just dispatched three leading insectoids, was returning to the starship carrier. As he landed on the deck, two Star-Class mechas appeared nearby.

Scion emerged from the cockpit, holding Arix. He glanced disinterestedly at the two mechas before turning away.

After landing, he put Samurai back into his Space Button and headed toward the carrier’s interior.

"Those two getting into their mechas just now, were they Sunak and Captain Chris? Are they also going to hunt insectoids?" Arix asked, looking up adorably.

Scion ruffled Arix’s hair, his tone carrying a hint of something deeper. "Something like that."

"Will it be dangerous?" Arix asked, worried about Sunak.

"No," Scion replied calmly, reassuring her.

"Then it’s fine," Arix said, feeling relieved. Suddenly, she felt incredibly sleepy. Ever since she had turned into a youngling, she had been getting sleepy very easily. Sometimes, she even felt drowsy halfway through a meal.

A wave of sleepiness hit her hard, and her brain started to shut down. She yawned, adjusted herself into a comfortable position, and nestled into Scion’s arms, falling into a deep sleep almost instantly.

As Scion continued walking, he suddenly heard the soft sounds of her snores. He glanced down to see the little one sleeping adorably and vulnerably in his arms.

This sight brought a gentle smile to his lips, and his heart softened. His steps became lighter, as if trying not to disturb her slumber.

Chapter 124 Imagination

The sound of laughter from outside disturbed Arix’s sleep, waking her up.

Still feeling groggy, she sat up halfway, using her furry paws to rub her eyes.

As she became more alert, she noticed she was back in the lounge. Remembering the face she saw before falling asleep, she guessed it was Scion who had brought her back.

Just as she thought of him, Scion pushed the door open and walked in.

"Scion, what are you doing here? Is everything okay?" Arix tilted her head, letting out a puzzled whimper.

Usually, Scion was busy, and it was Arix who sought him out when she was bored. This was the first time he came to see her on his own.

"Sunak had something to take care of and asked me to look after you for a few days," Scion said. He silently told a little white lie, as he remembered the two people with bruised faces still soaking in the treatment pods.

"Oh," Arix thought Sunak had gone on a mission and didn’t think much of it.

Seeing that she had just woken up, Scion came over and picked her up. Then, he brought her to the bathroom, helping her brush her teeth and wash her face.

Arix wanted to do it herself but, seeing Scion’s stern face, she kept quiet. She decided to just let it be—after all, she was just a cub now.

After freshening up, Arix returned to her bed, only to find two items placed in front of her. One was a Star-Class energy stone, and the other was a Subgiant-Class healing potion.

"What are these for?" Arix asked, confused about why Scion had brought these things and placed them before her like gifts.

"The energy stone is a gift from Captain Chris, and the potion is from Sunak," Scion explained, seeing the little cub’s confusion.

Hearing that Captain Chris had sent it, Arix didn’t understand why they would give her gifts for no reason, but she didn’t question it and accepted them.

She thought she could make some psychic power healing potions later and give them as return gifts.

She put the presents into her Space Button and then heard the laughter from outside the room again. "Is there something good happening today? Everyone seems really happy," Arix asked curiously.

"Yes, there is. Tonight, there’s a celebration. Arix, do you want to go and see?" Scion gently patted Arix’s fluffy little head, his eyes soft.

"Sure, but before we go, I want to stop by the lab," Arix remembered a promise she had made and thought it would be nice to add to the celebration with her contribution.

"Alright," Scion said without asking why. He then simply picked Arix up and headed straight to the lab.

Arix worked quickly this time, managing to make 50 psychic power healing potions within about an hour. She put the potions into her Space Button, pushed open the door, and walked out.

But as soon as she stepped out, she froze. Besides Scion waiting for her, there was a handsome man dressed in an expensive suit, arguing with Scion.

"I don’t feel comfortable letting her go alone. We’ll be at the Imperial Nexus in a few days; she can go then," Scion said coldly, rejecting the man without room for debate.

"But this is His Highness! How can we make His Highness wait?" Duke Glendale was furious, looking like he wanted to punch someone, though he knew he wouldn’t want to beat Scion.

"That doesn’t mean we can let our tiger cub take risks," Scion replied, still indifferent.

"How could you..." Duke Glendale pointed at Scion, looking like he wanted to curse but didn’t dare. It was a pitiful sight.

However, when Duke Glendale saw Arix, his anger subsided, and a knowing smile appeared on his face. "What if Arix wants to come with me willingly?"

"That’s impossible. Arix wouldn’t listen to you," Scion said, his eyes showing rare mockery.

"Don’t be so sure," Duke Glendale said with a confident smile. Then he pretended to shout loudly, "Prince Cassian is in danger!"

Arix, who had been walking leisurely, immediately changed her expression. She flapped her little wings anxiously and flew over.

"Who did you say is in danger?!" Arix’s psychic power started to stir from her anxiety, and a terrifying mental pressure filled the corridor.

Duke Glendale’s eyes widened in fear, his legs trembling. This overwhelming power, he was familiar with it and he knew it was Supergiant+. He had heard rumors of someone in the Alliance possessing this power, but he never imagined it was Arix.

He thought Cassian was foolish but now it turned out he himself was the stupid one. If a bit of trick could win them the Alliance’s top genius, it was a major victory.

Duke Glendale thought about Cassian, who was in a coma now, and then he came up with an idea.

Noticing Arix’s worried expression, Duke Glendale couldn’t afford to delay. He feigned uncertainty and asked, "Are you Miss Arix Kering?"

"Yes, I am. What happened to Cassian? What’s going on?" Arix asked, her voice tense.

She had seen Cassian before falling into the black hole and thought it was just a hallucination. But later, when she couldn’t contact him, she began to feel uneasy.

She knew Cassian must be in trouble; otherwise, he wouldn’t be unreachable.

Seeing Arix’s concern, Duke Glendale decided to continue with his act. Sighing dramatically, he said, "Prince Cassian has been injured from falling into the wormhole, and he hasn’t fully healed. And twice, my lady, twice did he force himself to use psychic power for your sake, Miss Arix..."

"...Especially after witnessing you fall into the wormhole, His Highness fought fiercely with those two insectoids for your revenge. His leg was broken, his arm was fractured, and his psychic world is on the verge of collapse. Ah, my poor Prince Cassian! His life is truly full of hardships!" Duke Glendale said emotionally, even pulling out a small handkerchief to dab at imaginary tears in the corners of his eyes.

The more Arix listened, the guiltier she felt. Her ears drooped, her heart heavy. She had no idea that Cassian had suffered so much because of her. ’Quispe! Hardy! I swear, I will get back at you and avenge Cassian!’

A cold glint flashed in Arix’s eyes as she silently vowed revenge in her heart.
