Yeah, I don't know how much of your "former researcher" self is even left, you sure don't act like a researcher at any point. Their personality really doesn't fit with their previous profession at all. I'm not sure if regressing to child-like behaviour is just normal when you become an object, Reaper is just a special case, or if Reaper did get artificially implanted the memories of being a researcher to be friendly towards humans, but internally they are really a child. Honestly blue girl seems more like a researcher, so maybe she did get reincarnated as blue girl, stuff happens, she prepares to create reaper and uses herself as a template for personality, something like that?
I thought that maybe the reward of a wish was a trap, but considering the 'eye', it doesn't seem impossible. Though if the 'eyes' fulfill the wishes, wouldn't that make dead mom the divine one? Well, it could be something else.
Also, how does the old man know the languages of our world? He made the sign.
A nightmare! Mom is watching our dream where she's nice to us!
Considering that Reaper in her "halo form" radiates sadness and regret as emotion, it's not strange for her to be hurt by it, as it's not in-line with her positive golden firewood. Her flame turning red should be indication enough. However, I'm not certain the 'eyes' always worked like this. Sadness and regret seem to be fitting for the dead mom, the previous owner of the 'eyes'. I can see her falling into despair after the divine one was struck down by the humans, tainting the 'eyes' with sadness, just like black reaper got tainted by the white flame, leaving him with one white eye.
Perhaps "fantasy creation" is more accurate as the 'eye' authority, nothing in the labyrinth is real, just the illusion, or fantasy of one.
Humunculus, huh.
It's confirmed, there are 9 'eyes', or crowns as he calls them. Rat W.
Also him being a king with it called crowns is slightly more likely. + he knows blue girl, so old world.
That dream is so as*😂 Like, seriously, all Tyrannosaurus? Should've at least had one Dragon, Kraken and Beeholder. With a T-Rex Head of course.
Also it's so like reaper to want an adventure without the, you now, parts that make an adventure actually an adventure, like danger and overcoming hardship.
So the labyrinth itself is created by the 'eye'. I was actually considering of naming the authority to be something like "shaping" or "creation", but that felt too vague and only "observation" was confirmed. But no proof, so I'll take my L there. Also, the spatial/teleporting interference should be because of the 'eye', so my last comment was also wrong. My reasoning seems solid enough, but apparently reaper can just beat an authority with just their own power. Feels a bit OP, but considering Reaper is a natural when it comes to spacial abilities, one exeption is fine. Still another L for me.
I'm just gonna ignore the spider-man being on white fire, I've learned my lesson.
Black reaper lore: "unique" ability seems to be the ability to suck emotions from objects to use as fuel, the other is of course it's shapeshifting ability. I'd say partial physical immunity, they do get hurt by the oil unlike golden reapers and reaper. Or perhaps their immunity isn't due to physical immunity, but rather another trait.
The beserk state caused by white flames could get cured by injecting yellow firewood, however some remained as shown by the single white eye. We'll see if it goes away at some point or if this is a more permanent side effect (or perhaps even a useful positive one).
I have not commented on it yet, but the interference of the labyrinth with reapers teleporting abilities is peculiar. Not many objects are strong enough to hinder reaper. Since they can still use the ability somewhat, it shouldn't be an 'eyes' authority but just an inherent attribute of the labyrinth.
That last scene is straight out of a murder mystery thriller.
Imagine you're just doing your regular 9 to 5 as a boss monster, fighting challengers, killing those to weak while letting those worthy "defeat" you (not like you'd really die), and one day something that could only be desdibed as the final boss steps into your chamber, you're scared as sh*t, hope he goes away, but no, he has to defeat you, you breath a sigh of relief when he's gone, just for that same mf to enter your door again and again and again, no matter what you do, just silently pleading to be relieved of your duty, which he does by actually killing you.
White firewood lore time. As expected there's a side effect, black reaper did go berserk, not recognizing their mom. Imagine reaper with white fire, yikes. It was said to smell bad by reaper, I theorized it to be the oil, but it's just like rotten food. Tastes bad, smells bad. Also explains why they saw each others flames as twisted, the emotions used as fuel are the polar opposite. I'm at peace, finally.
