kind of weird technology progress... the author slowly eased us in the "cosmic" $hit, while keeping the technology on the level of Earth's 80's - the not yet cellphone refferences. That's why myths work every time, but a proper scy-fi setting with no advanced tech is weird, at least in my view. Honestly I'm reading it now just because I would like where the romance is going, I enjoyed other successful similar plot novels.
