Simple explanation for the last parts:
Basically what Roselle is saying is that some specific pathways can be interchanged at high sequences. Remember, not all but some specific ones.
For example, the Sleepless pathway from the Evernight church can be interchanged with Corpse collector. Meaning if captain Dunn was to advance to sequence 5 and successfully digest it, he then has the option to change pathways and drink the sequence 4 of the Corpse collector pathway. It's the same for Savant and Mystery pryer pathways.
I think Leonard was just asking Klein about his suicide. the other two killed themselves immediately but Klein waited till he got home. Then if he (Klein) was killing himself to get rid of the knowledge he gained then Leonard asked why didn't he destroy the book beforehand to avoid others learning of it. G3 give details related to their personna and their abilities, but CF gives character details about their appearance and their vibe
