I have an odd feeling that someone in the group could potentially die in this small war.I mean that's a pretty basic assumption, a character dying during a war.
But I still remember what happened to that girl Rui tried to protect in the earlier chapters, it oddly made me a little emotional with how vividly the author described it. Even though we knew the character for only a few chapters.
I wonder when the other empires genius's will be introduced, hopefully they will be genuinely interesting people. Instead of the usual one dimensional genius character that every series/novel seems to have.
Lets say a person takes an enhancement potion to gain the physical abilities of a grade-ten martial apprentice, they don't have ANY martial techniques, they don't have martial path either.
Even if the person that takes the potion has a martial background, the original grade-ten martial apprentice will always win, or at least win 99999/100000.
The only exception to this rule is if a person could take a potion that gives them mid-range martial squire prowess, then they can win against a high grade martial apprentice.
There is quite a bit of nuance in regards to this. But it isn't logical to imagine an artificial augmentation will magically make the downsides disappear.
Should he win? Yes, statistically speaking he meets every requirement to be a martial squire. He's basically a pseudo martial squire in of itself.
Fiona also lacks the individuality, which is a large part of advancing a martial path.
Individuality seems like it would the lease important thing in advancing a martial path, but Rui quite literally is proof that it is a core element of martial strength.
It's pretty much a given that he would hold a grudge. How else would you expect a young master character to act?
As always I don't really care how they behave since anybody has the capacity to change for the better, he's still young and stupid afterall.
But if he tries anything like attempted murder against Rui, then he pretty much waivers his rights as being "redeemable". And I will then pray on his downfall.
Kinda like Caster in shadow slave, he was redeemable until we figured out his intentions.
I hope the author leads more into the fantasy realm when it comes to the beasts/monsters.I mean as I hope some of the powerful beasts have some extraordinary intelligence and/or powers/abilities. It would also be interesting to see some intelligent human-like beasts.
I remember at the start of this novel, a lot of people were complaining that Rui was "to weak" compared to his peers. Yet they failed to realise he was just 14-15 at the time and he barely had 6-10 techniques.
Now he might be considered "overpowered". Which is objectively true, but he was ALWAYS meant to be this powerful, he is now officially an all-rounder and can actually use the VOID algorithm effectively in battle.

Cold
It wasn't exactly lethal enough to be attempted murder. But I'm guessing it will escalate and Rui will have to put him in his place.
Even if it escalates I doubt Rui will go as far to kill Ian, it will be much welcomed if he did.
Verdict? Ian will eventually fade into nothingness once he reaches a bottleneck, a third rate character.
That...doesn't really make sense.

Love interest?
Nah, probably have to wait till Rui is 30 lmao.

He was always meant to get this strong.
