This is what I don't like about the novel, the MC acts according to an idiotic moral compass too often, you can't go into a a battle for your life by trying to only capture your enemy alive, and avoiding killing them. It's called war for a reason, and the stupid usually don't survive.

The writing is not bad actually, and the MC seems to have some morals, even if he needs to get more ruthless to become the one who rules them all.

OK, how come this woman is still in the palace? But I reckon she will be MCs romantic interest. Bit disappointed that it's one of old royal family, even if she wasn't an evil one, she's still got too much privilege for no reason. Ah..
