Author doesn't seem to understand the rules of his/her own world? MC is forced to tell the truth, but Author thinks "mc" should be compelled to speak just because someone asks a question? Take about a massive, gaping wound of a bleeding plot hole right from the start of the story. At no point does the system suggest he should be forced to answer questions he doesn't want to just because he is forced to answer truthfully. Author just doesn't realize the plot hole that is now woven into the fabric of the story from the beginning and infects major facets of character behavior and plot mechanics. The story mentions he can't even lie to him self... and then immediacy throws him into situations where he lies to him self due to the effects of other powers that are supposed to be weaker than the divine level power forcing him to be truthful. The inconsistently of logic is kinda a bummer at times. Despite all that, it's a really good read.
Honestly, this is an interesting and refreshing take on cultivation novels. If you've read as many of them as I have and seen how many of them are unoriginal, then I think you'd be able to recognize that this story is a slight parody of other novels that use lots of the same gimmicks over and over again. All the antagonists are essentially all "Protagonists" of other books and the Author does a great job of show casing just how often authors and readers gloss over all the terrible shit done by the maincharacter from other books. I'm not saying its the best novel or anything, but its definitely an interesting read if you have a refined taste for cultivation novels.
A well written story with a clever and scheming protagonist. No systems or gimmicks, just a guy exploiting some starwars universe meta knowledge
The story is pretty good but the author makes the main character super cringe after like 75 chapters or so out of what feels like almost no where. If you're fine with the MC being kind of chunni at times then its not bad. Something I could binge read when I have nothing else to read, but not something I would follow and check regularly for updates.
Main character is mostly a coward who frequently murders entire groups of innocent people to protect his life of extravagant leisure. This story generally falls into the category of "The MC does lots of shitty things but the author likes to phrase the story in a way that justifies the shitty actions of the MC so that they don't seem so bad or maybe they are unintentionally a hero."
The writing isn't too bad overall but the rather harsh nationalist views make the overall reading experience a little less enjoyable at certain parts.
exact copy of a book that's already on the website. https://novelfire.docsachhay.net/book/steadily-becoming-a-saint-the-immortal-officials-hired-me-to-tend-the-horses
The translator seems to be a bit inexperienced so the story will have some parts where the dialog and narration don't really make a whole lot of sense.
I'm not saying its the best story or anything, but its pretty funny at times. Some minor mistranslations but overall not too bad. It is semi-original stuff
Every chapter from 117ish on has it's sentences rearranged randomly, making it almost impossible to make sense of what's happening. I've checked most other free web novel sites found though google and it's the same, so its not just this site.
