Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 831 - 828: Second Miss, You Tricked Me!

Chapter 831: Chapter 828: Second Miss, You Tricked Me!

Arranging for Kikuchi Mika to stay with Zi Yan, Lin Tian felt it was the best arrangement. With Zi Yan, she could live a normal life. She spent over a decade at the Sun Shadow Association, constantly anxious, unsure if she’d be assaulted by her lustful boss or be killed any day. To her, a normal life was the best destination.

After saying goodbye to Dean Miao, Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan drove back to the Xiao Mansion. Tonight, Miss didn’t return, presumably needing time to digest the resources Lin Tian just received.

Resources left unused would be a loss of money. Figuring out how to maximize and expediently utilize them was truly a headache for the group’s leadership.

With Miss absent, there was no need for sparring. Lin Tian could peacefully read, practice cultivation, and continue refining the three Crescent Blades.

Honestly, Lin Tian really anticipated the realm of Sword Control. Since becoming a zombie, he hadn’t had a suitable weapon. The Crescent Blades were a piece of his equipment.

Using the Crescent Blades as a weapon was quite convenient, at least he didn’t need to carry a sword conspicuously on his back. If he had acquired the Demon Blade Muramasa, Lin Tian wouldn’t even know how to carry it.

Roaming the streets, never mind being checked by the police, just carrying a sword would make people think you’re crazy. What era is this; who still runs around carrying a sword? If you carry something, carry a gun instead.

Moreover, Lin Tian conducted an experiment. Even airport security didn’t detect the Crescent Blades when carried, meaning the security scanners couldn’t spot them.

After refining was complete, the Crescent Blades remained unchanged. Lin Tian understood that impatience wouldn’t work; Sword Control wasn’t an ordinary realm.

The next day was still the weekend, the campus had a free clinic activity. Only he went today, as Xiao Manxuan stayed home to study. Though the little girl was already very capable, she remained diligent as always.

Success doesn’t result from being a genius; it stems from diligence, as was true for the Xiao sisters.

Today’s free clinic went smoothly; Lai Xiucheng and his group didn’t show up to cause trouble, likely feeling too ashamed. Lin Tian guessed that Sun Decai probably abandoned Lai Xiucheng.

For Sun Decai, Lai Xiucheng was merely a pawn. A pawn loses its value, naturally abandoned and left to fend for itself.

Though lively, the free clinic event eventually ended. However, at the end, Dean Miao arranged for two doctors to stay at the school. The doctors were initially unwilling to stay at the school, but after witnessing Lin Tian’s skills, they felt surprisingly reassured.

With an acupuncture expert studying here, conducting research on campus wasn’t burdensome. With this arrangement finalized, Principal Yan also felt relieved.

This time, in front of Lin Tian, he wrote and issued a dismissal notice, and naturally, the recipient was Lai Xiucheng. Lin Tian could only mourn for him. Previously, Lai Xiucheng’s reputation at the school had hit rock bottom, and after Dean Miao spoke, even working as a doctor would be challenging for him.

After the weekend, the notorious Monday returned; a tranquil campus once again plunged into the bustling preparation phase for college entrance exams. Yesterday’s free clinic seemed but a ripple in the water.

Early that morning, Lin Tian was woken by Xiao Manxuan. As he’d been up late practicing, he was still sleepy. It’s said zombies can sleep for hundreds, even thousands of years, yet he’s getting less than eight hours of sleep daily, making Lin Tian wonder if he’s becoming an underdeveloped zombie.

"Lin Tian, don’t you know what day today is?" Xiao Manxuan asked curiously on the way to school.

Lin Tian was startled, sensing it must be an important occasion as girls often ask this. But he genuinely couldn’t recall any special event today.

"Is it your birthday, Second Miss?" Lin Tian tentatively asked.

"No, my birthday has passed, I’m already eighteen, an adult, mind you." Xiao Manxuan protested.

Being an adult isn’t particularly worth celebrating, nor is she rushing to get married. Lin Tian felt quite puzzled.

"You really don’t know?" Xiao Manxuan asked again.

Lin Tian thought it over and shook his head. Based on TV plotlines, this would be the point for a girl to get upset. But unexpectedly, Xiao Manxuan cheerfully exclaimed "Yay" and then grinned, saying, "Hmm, you don’t know, that’s very good."

Lin Tian reached out to touch the little girl’s smooth forehead, puzzled, "No fever, why are you talking nonsense?"

Xiao Manxuan promptly brushed away his hand, playfully scolding, "You’re the one talking nonsense."

Lin Tian shook his head, baffled. The entire way to school, the little girl was smiling silently, continuing even upon reaching the classroom. It wasn’t till Fang Ming entered with a pile of test papers that Lin Tian had a revelation.

"Darn, Second Miss, you tricked me. Today is the mock exam, the competitive agreement between me and you, and Zhang Lingyu." Lin Tian exclaimed dramatically; he’d been so busy these days, he’d forgotten such an important exam.

It wasn’t that he was overly concerned about the exam results, nor that they’d impact his college admission. But he had agreements with the two girls: if he won, he could kiss them. Such a great opportunity is hard to come by.

No wonder Xiao Manxuan had been so diligent these past days; it turns out she was gearing up to win this challenge.

"Lin Tian, do you have any comments on the exam?" Fang Ming glared at him critically.

Xiao Manxuan feigned seriousness, staring straight ahead, but the corner of her mouth hinted at a mischievous smile. Lin Tian felt so irritated he could grind his teeth.

"Hey, little girl, don’t get cocky, wait till you lose and let me kiss you," Lin Tian whispered. Calling her a little girl made Xiao Manxuan blush. She anxiously looked around, fearing anyone heard the slightly flirty yet intimate nickname.

"Student Lin Tian, I asked if you have any issues, where are you looking? Staring at pretty girls?" Fang Ming raised her voice again, prompting laughter from other classmates.

"Reporting to Teacher Fang, I have no complaints." Lin Tian glared at Fatty Huang, who laughed the loudest, shouting confidently.

"If there are no issues, take out your scratch paper and pen. How can you take the test without a pen?" Fang Ming said, somewhat helplessly, with a hint of nagging.

One unfamiliar might think she’s displeased with Lin Tian, but he could hear that Aunt Fang cared deeply, hence her tireless reminders. With anyone else, who’d have such patience?

Some students often feel their parents nag too much, but don’t realize it’s only those who care most that do so. Outsiders wouldn’t bother with your survival.

"This mock exam will be entirely conducted according to college entrance exam standards, spanning two days. This morning we’ll test Chinese, this afternoon Math, tomorrow morning Science, and afternoon Foreign Languages. I hope students refrain from cheating and achieve genuine results." As a language teacher and class head, Fang Ming naturally delivered this pre-test address.

After finishing remarks, Fang Ming checked the time before distributing the test papers.

Upon receiving their test papers, Xiao Manxuan and Zhang Lingyu glanced challengingly at Lin Tian, clearly signaling, don’t lose too badly!
