Chapter 82: Chapter 81: Can’t Survive
"Teacher Fang Ming, is this my test paper?" Lin Tian absolutely didn’t believe this was his test paper; he was very clear about his own scores.
If not, then why were the characters "Lin Tian" written on it, and the handwriting was exactly the same? There was only one explanation: Wu Li had tampered with it in front of him. Lin Tian had never imagined Wu Li would stoop so low.
But what was the point of tampering with it to score zero points? It wasn’t even the real college entrance examination; even if he had made it negative points, it would have been useless.
"Lin Tian, you can’t even recognize your own test paper?" Wu Li said with a serious expression, feigning it so convincingly.
Lin Tian glanced at him, too lazy to bother with him, and said to Teacher Fang, "Teacher Fang Ming, this is not my test paper. You know, with my abilities, it’s impossible for me to score zero."
Before Fang Ming could speak, Wu Li again said, "You scored zero, and it’s understandable that you can’t accept it. It’s all my fault for not teaching you strictly; I bear a great responsibility too."
As he said this, Wu Li’s face wore a look of pity and pain, feigned to perfection. Lin Tian watched him coldly and said word by word, "I said, this test paper isn’t mine."
"You won’t admit it? Let me ask you, did you turn in your paper an hour early?" Wu Li challenged.
"Yes!" Lin Tian already knew what he was trying to say, but couldn’t deny it; he indeed had handed in his paper an hour early.
"Teacher Fang, you heard it too. Handing in a paper just one hour into the exam, do you think that’s possible?" Wu Li then turned to the other teachers in the office, "Everyone, have you ever seen a student submit their paper in just one hour?"
All the teachers shook their heads. Perhaps there were such cases, but those likely occurred because they didn’t know how to answer and turned in their papers early.
"Lin Tian, you usually dislike studying, have poor discipline in class, and scored zero on the test. I think you don’t deserve to be in the advanced class," Wu Li finally revealed his true intentions.
He wanted to say it in front of all the teachers, giving Lin Tian no chance to rebound. The last time he reported Lin Tian to Teacher Fang, it ended up unresolved, so this time he spoke openly.
Fang Ming frowned as she watched Wu Li; initially she thought it was a simple report, but now something seemed off.
"Teacher Wu, is there some misunderstanding here?" Fang Ming asked.
Lin Tian looked at Fang Ming, knowing she wanted to help him, but this time was different; Wu Li intended to make a big fuss.
"Hehe, Teacher Fang Ming, I already called Principal Yan before coming; he said he will be here soon," Wu Li chuckled mockingly, his eyes glinting with triumph.
Damn, this Wu Li really harbored resentment, biding his time until now, just to kick me out of senior year’s class one, Lin Tian reviewed the test paper in his hand with his x-ray vision and found the handwriting was only very similar. But others wouldn’t notice, he had to find his own actual test paper.
Using his x-ray vision, he scanned the office and finally spotted something unusual in the corner’s paper shredder. This shredder should have been cleared at noon, but currently, it contained only one piece of paper shredded into strips, which, under Lin Tian’s x-ray vision, was unmistakably his test paper.
Just then, three people walked in through the door; Lin Tian recognized Principal Yan and Director Gao, but surprisingly, accompanying Principal Yan in the front was Miss.
Miss’s arrival seemed to brighten the entire office; all the male teachers peeked out from behind their desks.
"Principal Yan, you’ve arrived. This is Lin Tian, who scored zero. I hope to transfer him out of the advanced class!" Wu Li pointed at Lin Tian, his eyes, however, kept darting toward Xiao Manxue.
Hearing that Lin Tian scored zero, Miss barely managed to suppress her laughter. Usually so arrogant and bullying, it was rare to see him lose face.
"Principal Yan, I know student Lin Tian, and we should clarify things," Fang Ming countered.
Principal Yan walked up to Lin Tian, patted him friendlily on the shoulder, and said with a laugh, "Xiao Tian obviously looks honest. We should give him a chance to explain; we can’t just wrong a good student so casually."
This friendly demeanor dumbfounded Wu Li. Lin Tian knew it was due to Xiao Manxue’s influence. He said nothing, went to the shredder, opened the lid, and took out the shredded strips of paper.
"Principal Yan, this is my actual test paper." Lin Tian said, smirked at Wu Li, making him go pale.
"How can you say it’s your test paper when it’s just a bunch of shredded paper?" Wu Li argued desperately.
"Hehe, really? Teacher Fang, could you give me a roll of clear tape?" Lin Tian asked Fang Ming for some clear tape, then neatly arranged the strips of paper on the table.
In front of everyone’s astonished eyes, Lin Tian actually assembled a complete test paper. He then used the clear tape to glue the paper together into one piece and handed it to Wu Li.
"Teacher Wu, take a look, is this my test paper? You can also correct it in front of everyone and see how many points I scored," Lin Tian said with a cold laugh.
But Wu Li didn’t dare to take it, knowing very well what was going on. He couldn’t understand how the shredded test paper could have been discovered; it was too bizarre.
"I’m telling you to correct it!" Lin Tian stared at him, his voice low and repeating.
Wu Li shivered and instinctively took the test paper, pulling out his pen to start correcting it. Everyone waited quietly, wanting to see how many points this wronged student actually scored.
Soon, the test paper was corrected, and Wu Li stuttered, "Full...full marks."
Full marks! Tge result was beyond all teachers’ expectations, and Wu Li was already sweating profusely, shying away from looking at the principal as he struggled to speak.
"President Xiao, sorry for the embarrassment. I will definitely provide a satisfactory response," Principal Yan felt his face had been lost because of Wu Li. He glared fiercely at Wu Li and said sternly, "Come with me. Why are you still standing here losing face?"
With the principal and director gone, Lin Tian and Miss left the office under the astonished gazes of the teachers. As they exited, Teacher Fang Ming still comforted Lin Tian to not feel burdened and to study well.
"I know you want to ask why I showed up at the school." Once they were outside, Xiao Manxue spoke before Lin Tian could ask, "School was over, and I came to pick you up. I just happened to meet the principal and learned about your situation, so I followed."
"Miss seemed quite happy earlier. Is it really something to rejoice about, me scoring zero?" Lin Tian looked at her with implied meaning.
To his surprise, the woman answered straightforwardly, her charming smile blossoming, "Of course it’s worth rejoicing. Seeing you thwarted lifts my spirits, which weren’t great to begin with."
"Too bad it didn’t go as you wished, I still ended up with full marks," Lin Tian retorted not to be outdone.
"Hehe, if your teacher will end up unable to mix in any schools across Xikou City, are you satisfied with this outcome?" Xiao Manxue turned back, her smile mysterious as she looked at Lin Tian.
