Chapter 737: Chapter 734: Meddling?
Everyone on the rooftop viewed Lin Tian as a thorn in their side, each of them thinking about suppressing him quickly.
Sun Decai sneered and said, "They say the enemy knows you best. I shared a dorm with him for a year, and because of a girl, things have escalated to this point. I understand him well, Lin Tian is arrogant and likes to meddle in other people’s business; he will definitely get involved in this matter."
"That’s good, whether it’s you or the Bai Family, we’ve all been under tremendous pressure from Lin Tian lately. We should also give him some trouble, otherwise his arrogance will reach the heavens." Bai Yufeng gritted his teeth and said.
"Exactly, you didn’t see how arrogant he was this morning, daring to treat the school doctor like that. If we let it slide, we should just beat him up, see if he stays so arrogant!" Lai Xiucheng angrily said, still dwelling on this morning’s incident.
"Beat him up?" Bai Yufeng and Sun Decai said in unison, looking at Lai Xiucheng as if he were an idiot.
Lai Xiucheng frowned and said, "What? He’s just a student, even if he’s skilled in medicine, what of it? No one can fight against numbers; I even fought him to a draw."
"You fought him to a draw?" Sun Decai exclaimed in surprise, then laughed, as if laughing at a fool.
Sun Decai sneered, "You can’t even beat me, and you think you can match Lin Tian? Ridiculous, utterly oblivious to the heights of the heavens and the depths of the earth!"
"You’re a taekwondo black belt master, of course I can’t beat you, but can Lin Tian beat you?" Lai Xiucheng asked, puzzled.
"It’s not about whether he can beat me or not, but that Lin Tian disdains to fight; there are things you don’t know, but just remember, in terms of force, he is invincible, no matter how many people there are. To deal with Lin Tian, only brains can win." Sun Decai said somewhat sentimentally and helplessly.
Lai Xiucheng fell silent, but his expression clearly showed he was unconvinced.
"This time, we don’t need to confront him head-on, just subtly influence the developments from behind and make him the target of public criticism, let him deal with the trouble himself," Sun Decai said with a cold laugh.
In the classroom of senior year class one, Lin Tian suddenly sneezed, rubbed his nose quizzically, and thought, ’Who is thinking of me so much out of the blue?’
"Lin Tian, you haven’t answered me yet, will you or won’t you agree? Those frogs are too innocent," Xiao Manxuan cooed.
Lin Tian scratched his head, feeling somewhat helpless, and finally agreed. He also felt this issue was concerning. Whether it’s ethical or not to poison frogs, the school should decide, surely the parents wouldn’t stoop so low as to cause major disruptions at the school.
"Lin Tian, you’re really nice," Xiao Manxuan said cheerily, sneaking Lin Tian a flying kiss.
Looking at the little girl’s enticing red lips, Lin Tian remembered the last time she initiated a kiss, a taste that lingered, regretting that there hadn’t been another opportunity since then.
Alas, I really am a big pervert, just kissed the Miss not long ago, and now thinking about kissing the Second Miss, Lin Tian thought, criticizing himself.
He felt two malicious gazes from the side, and without guessing, Lin Tian knew it was Zhang Lingyu.
"Zhang Lingyu, I agreed to Xiao Manxuan’s request, do you have any objections?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled.
"No objections, very good, just wanted to remind you, you’re in for some trouble," Zhang Lingyu said indifferently.
"What I fear least is others giving me trouble. Life in senior year is so dull, it’s good to have someone to play with," Lin Tian said nonchalantly.
"Not everything can be resolved with force," Zhang Lingyu said, then lowered his head to read his book and ignored Lin Tian.
Lin Tian didn’t disturb her and pulled out his cellphone to step outside the classroom and made a call.
"Principal Yan, hello, this is Lin Tian." Lin Tian introduced himself.
Principal Yan hadn’t expected Lin Tian to take the initiative to call him, so he asked somewhat surprised, "Lin Tian, what can I do for you?"
"Here’s the thing, I heard the school is planning to poison the pond within the school to kill the frogs, is there any truth to this?" Lin Tian asked directly without any niceties.
Principal Yan, not sure what Lin Tian meant by this, responded cautiously, "Recently, several parents have complained, stating that the noise from the frogs is disturbing the school’s resting environment. What are your thoughts on this matter, Lin Tian?"
"Principal Yan, I don’t know what those parents are thinking and it’s none of my business, but if the media caught wind of the frog poisoning, do you think the school could become the center of a media storm?" Lin Tian countered.
Lin Tian didn’t delve into morality with Principal Yan, no talk of "a decade for trees, a century for people," as the principal knew these principles better than anyone. He went straight to the consequences, which Principal Yan naturally understood.
"I’ve considered your worries too, and that’s why I’ve been holding back on sending out any notifications despite the parents’ complaints. So, you’re opposed to it too, Lin Tian?" Principal Yan probed again.
Lin Tian didn’t want to play guessing games, saying bluntly, "I don’t care how bad this could be for the students’ values, but I promised someone and I hope you’ll consider the consequences seriously, Principal Yan."
"Alright, since you’ve brought it up, Lin Tian, I will consider it carefully. ’A decade for trees, a century for people,’ I wouldn’t want to be criticized for corrupting students years down the line." Principal Yan stated earnestly.
With that, Lin Tian understood that the school wouldn’t be poisoning the frogs anymore.
After hanging up, Lin Tian went back to the classroom where Xiao Manxuan was hoping, "Was that a call to Principal Yan? What did he say?"
"Your Frog Prince is safe, no one’s gonna poison them anymore," Lin Tian joked.
"It’s not the Frog Prince," Xiao Manxuan glanced at him and said, then added, "Lin Tian, thank you. Don’t you think I’m a bit childish?"
"Not at all, you’re a kind girl," Lin Tian said sincerely, from the heart.
"Won’t it cause you trouble?" Xiao Manxuan asked somewhat sheepishly.
"Trouble is good, keeps me from being bored. Quit asking and start studying. Don’t forget, we have a bet. If you lose, you owe me a kiss," Lin Tian said nonchalantly.
"Hmph, that won’t happen, you big pervert," the little girl huffed, but turned back to her book anyway.
The afternoon classes passed quickly, and no notice concerning the frog poisoning was issued by the school. Lin Tian knew that Principal Yan had suppressed the matter.
As he was leaving through the school gates, Lin Tian felt a gaze on him. Following the direction, he saw someone run away in panic.
He didn’t recognize the person and didn’t give it much thought, heading straight with Xiao Manxuan to the parking lot to get the car.
As soon as he stepped into the parking lot, Lin Tian sensed something was wrong because it was too quiet for the dismissal time when the parking lot should have been bustling.
Looking over at a corner inside, Lin Tian said, "Miss, you get in the car and lock the doors. It seems someone is not too pleased. I’ll go say hello."
