He was reminded of the Half Zombies cultivated by the Gu Cultivators which required Zombie Gu, and feeding a Zombie Gu necessitated zombie blood. From this, he deduced that zombies must exist in Japan. Once the matter involved zombies, it would not be simple at all.

Xiao Manxue frowned slightly and asked, "Do you know something, or have you thought of something?"

"Haha, no, maybe I’m just overthinking it," Lin Tian chuckled, choosing not to share his thoughts with Miss. To discuss such mystical matters, especially when they were mere conjectures, would only add unnecessary worry to her.

Then he added, "Since Miss has no objections, let’s finalize this plan. You handle the company’s side, coordinating with Ning Luoxi’s strategy. As for the rest, just wait securely at the auction venue. You’ll be in charge of looking enchanting and beautiful, while I’ll handle the arrangements. Even if we can’t uproot them entirely, we’ll at least cut off a few of their branches."

"Hmph, all you have are sweet words to appease me, talking about being enchanting and beautiful. You never used to talk like this," Xiao Manxue huffed.

Have I really appeased her? She isn’t even my woman; why would I need to appease her? Lin Tian wondered why this cool and aloof CEO had suddenly become so sentimental.

Unable to figure it out, he simply said, "Um, well, I won’t disturb Miss any longer for her rest. I’ll be heading out now."

As he walked to the entrance of the banquet hall, Xiao Manxue suddenly spoke out, "Lin Tian, be careful. It doesn’t matter whether it’s about the jade or the enemies, I don’t want you to get hurt."

Lin Tian stopped in his tracks, his back to her, his lips curling into a mysterious smile as he replied, "Miss, this morning I drove away all your suitors, leaving you without choices. I should take responsibility for that. So be assured, as long as I don’t wish to die, King Yama wouldn’t dare to come for me."

"Who asked you to take responsibility..." Xiao Manxue blushed, but before she could finish, Lin Tian had already vanished from the doorway.

Lin Tian stepped out of the banquet hall and only then did he remember he and Miss were supposed to go the same way back to the smaller villa. However, since he was already out, he didn’t wait for Miss and was heading back to the villa behind the restaurant when someone emerged from around the corner on his right-hand side.

Lin Tian looked over and saw it was Rossi, the man who had been on the phone earlier, in a black suit. Europeans, with their large builds, always seemed to carry a gentlemanly air when dressed in suits, and Rossi was no exception; Lin Tian even thought he might be of noble heritage.

"Rossi, what’s the matter?" Lin Tian asked in surprise.

Rossi, much like a shadow, was rarely seen by others unlike Ghost and Stone, always hiding in the darkness. Even members of the Xiao Family had rarely seen him.

However, a vampire being able to walk under the sunlight was something that ordinary people would never imagine.

"Brother Tian, this is from Ghost. He said you might need them," Rossi spoke as he handed over two items.

"What are these?" Lin Tian asked, accepting the items with curiosity.

"A wristband and a miniature earpiece. They work as walkie-talkies at close range and can connect to a smartphone for calls from afar. Ghost was concerned you might have difficulty using your phone at the auction, so he had me bring these," Rossi explained.

"Not bad, much better than a Bluetooth headset, and more discreet too," Lin Tian praised. The wristband was simple, with a little screen and a few buttons; he figured it out after a few presses.

Rossi saw that Lin Tian had no further questions, nodded, and withdrew.

As Lin Tian entered, he happened to see Mrs. Xiao in the hall, surely having noticed Rossi’s appearance.

"Lin Tian, is that foreign young man your friend?" Mrs. Xiao inquired.

"Sort of. Mrs. Xiao saw him last time at the Night Rose Bar," Lin Tian replied briefly.

He understood what Mrs. Xiao was implying; a student, living mostly on campus and at home, meeting such a foreigner did indeed seem unusual.

Mrs. Xiao, seeing that he had no intention of explaining further, didn’t press the issue and instead said, "I’ve had food brought over. Have something to eat before going up."

With nothing better to do, Lin Tian waited in the hall. Soon after, Miss came back from outside and Xiao Manxuan came downstairs, along with the serving staff that came in with Miss.

In Lin Tian’s memory, the Xiao mother and daughters dining together was a rare event, countable on one hand’s fingers. Unexpectedly, it was in a foreign land that they could gather for a meal.

It must be said, dining with three great beauties was an exceptional pleasure, especially since all three were disastrously beautiful.

This was a rare moment of tranquility amidst the hustle. Mrs. Xiao and Xiao Manxuan were oblivious to the impending events at the auction, and Lin Tian admired Miss’s composure; faced with a situation that could determine the fate of the Xiao Family, she could still appear so calm in front of her family.

A regular girl would probably be scared witless just thinking about it, let alone handling it as coolly as Miss did.

After the meal, they each returned to their rooms. The auction was at three o’clock in the afternoon, and it was already past twelve.

Time flew, and at two oh five in the afternoon, Lin Tian felt a slight vibration from the wristband. He inserted the miniature earpiece into his ear; there was no need to take out his phone. With a press of the wristband button, the call connected.

"Brother Tian, it’s Ghost. Our car has left the airport and we’re just waiting for the fish to bite," Ghost’s voice came through the earpiece, clear as day.

"Good, stay safe," Lin Tian said, a slight smile on his face.

Just after hanging up, Xiao Manxuan’s voice came from outside, "Lin Tian, hurry up and come out, we’re heading to the auction venue."

Lin Tian opened the door, and there stood not only Xiao Manxuan but also Mrs. Xiao and Miss, all just coming down the stairs. What stunned him was that all three women had changed into a new set of dresses.

They were not as solemn as in the morning, but rather revealed an understated elegance. Standing together, the mother and daughters looked like a gathering of sisters. Lin Tian swallowed hard at the stunning sight.

"Lin Tian, what are you staring at? Let’s go," Miss suddenly said, snapping Lin Tian out of his amazement.

As they walked, the mother and daughters suddenly stopped, causing Lin Tian to nearly bump into Miss. Fortunately, he reacted in time to avoid toppling her, but it was a close call with the little girl, who would certainly have exploded in rage.

"Is this the auction venue?" Lin Tian asked curiously.
