Chapter 29: Chapter 29 The Second Young Master of the Bai Family

In the team of fifteen, there were exactly five basketball players including Lin Tian, with the remaining ten all being cheerleaders, all of whom were girls.

Yao Yun also felt quite helpless about this situation, as only a few people were familiar with basketball rules and had handled a basketball. Lin Tian, on the other hand, didn’t mind. Winning the game wouldn’t be difficult, but his ambitions lay elsewhere.

Five guys and ten beauties walking together through the campus created an impressive spectacle. Especially since walking in the center were the top school beauties, both at once, dazzling everyone’s eyes. The boys walked with heads held high and chests out, not looking sideways, basking in the envious and resentful gazes of other male students.

West Garden Restaurant wasn’t far from the school; just two hundred meters from the gate. When Lin Tian and his group arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, another group of five people approached from a different direction.

The young man leading the group was about the same height as Lin Tian, with fair and clean features, meticulously groomed hair, and a handsome face. He was wearing a school uniform, but not from Xikou City High School.

As soon as he saw Lin Tian’s group, he directed his attention to Xiao Manxuan, a faint smile appearing on his face, as if he saw Zhang Lingyu, who was equally beautiful, but chose to ignore her.

Damn, this pretty boy really knows how to act, Lin Tian cursed silently. Pretty boy had already scrutinized Zhang Lingyu, with a flash of amazement and desire that was more concealed, invisible to others. However, Lin Tian noticed Zhang Lingyu slightly frowning, seemingly aware of the opposite pretty boy’s deceitful look. This surprised him; Zhang Lingyu seemed to be more than just an ordinary person.

The pretty boy seemed to know Xiao Manxuan and walked straight towards them.

"Why is it him?" Xiao Manxuan frowned and said, her tone carrying a hint of disgust.

"Oh, Xuanxuan, you know him?" Lin Tian asked curiously.

His suddenly intimate address made her cheeks blush slightly, yet she didn’t object but rolled her eyes at him before saying, "That’s Bai Yufeng, the Second Young Master Bai from the Bai Family in Xikou City, a very hypocritical person."

"The Bai Family? Bai’s Jewelry Store?" Lin Tian remembered the most famous jewelry company in Xikou City but wasn’t sure if Bai’s Jewelry Store was owned by the Bai Family.

"Yes, Bai’s Jewelry is indeed a Bai Family enterprise. The Bai Family’s main business is jewelry, along with other industries. They are quite prominent in Xikou City. I saw him once when I went to a party with my mom," Xiao Manxuan explained softly.

Zhang Lingyu glanced at her and teased, "Manxuan, aren’t you omitting something? That pretty boy seems to have a crush on you. He must have been struck by your beauty the last time he saw you, right?"

"Don’t talk nonsense." Xiao Manxuan sneakily glanced at Lin Tian and, seeing that he wasn’t upset, she breathed a sigh of relief.

While they were talking, Bai Yufeng and his entourage had already approached them. He flashed what he thought was a suave smile and said, "It turns out to be Miss Xiao Manxuan. Fate brings people together; to encounter you here."

"Hmph, who has fate with you? We’re busy, don’t block our way," Xiao Manxuan said expressionlessly, her hand naturally lifting to grasp Lin Tian’s arm.

Huh? Bai Yufeng’s gaze instantly sharpened, and he let out a low hum, his smiling face disappeared, turning icy cold.

Even blind people could understand the implication in Bai Yufeng’s words a moment ago, which were an obvious expression of affection for Xiao Manxuan. Yet now, Xiao Manxuan was arm in arm with Lin Tian, a clear slap in the face, and in the public no less.

But Bai Yufeng’s dark mood disappeared in the blink of an eye, and he resumed his faint smile. Seeing this made Lin Tian shake his head; the pretty boy was too amusing—better not suppress it into an internal injury.

Bai Yufeng looked at Lin Tian with a smile and said, "I don’t know how to address this brother?"

"Lin Tian, double wood as in the forest, hehe, may I ask how my classmate wishes to be addressed?" Lin Tian asked deliberately.

"Bai Yufeng." He replied with a chuckle, introducing himself with nothing more than his name, as if the name "Bai Yufeng" was very impressive.

"Ah, Bai Yufeng, such a girly name." Lin Tian said with utmost seriousness.

Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought he really misheard, his expression as genuine as they come. His classmates who came with him knew he had just heard the name but now teased in this manner; they all desperately tried to hold back their laughter.

"How dare you! Insulting the young master is a death wish!" A middle-aged man behind Bai Yufeng bellowed, bypassing him to launch an attack towards Lin Tian.

Bai Yufeng stood still without attempting to stop him, letting the middle-aged man charge forward. He hated most when people called him girly; last time, a classmate accidentally said it once and got his leg broken by Bai Yufeng.

Then he threw money at the classmate, telling him to get treated at the hospital. When their principal learned of this, he had a talk with Bai Yufeng. Bai Yufeng simply stated that if the money he threw wasn’t enough to cover the treatment, the classmate could come to him anytime, and he wouldn’t be shortchanged a penny.

Rich people are just that willful, that arrogant; even the principal felt powerless. These rich kids have complex backgrounds, and so the principal couldn’t do much about them.

Lin Tian narrowed his eyes as he watched the incoming fist, pushing Xiao Manxuan to the side. He sensed that the middle-aged man’s attacking power had surpassed the bounds of ordinary martial arts; he might well be an Ancient Martial Artist. If the excess force from the attack injured this delicate little girl, it would pain Lin Tian deeply.

"Bang!"

The middle-aged man’s fist was forcefully stopped by Lin Tian, whipping up a gust of wind around them and sweeping the ground clean of dust. Lin Tian appeared relaxed, just standing there casually, while the middle-aged man’s face flashed a shade of abnormal redness.

"Uncle Zhao, come back," Bai Yufeng said quickly, seeing that the situation seemed abnormal, "Brother Lin Tian was simply joking with me, why take it seriously? Such a cultivated person as himself would never truly be so impolite as to make up someone’s name."

Damn it, this pretty boy resorts to mocking others when he’s losing the fight, yet he speaks as if he’s so honorable. Lin Tian glanced at the retreating middle-aged man and chuckled, "Of course, it was all just a joke, no need for such physicalness. What if someone overestimates themselves and gets hurt by me? Wouldn’t that make Second Young Master Bai lose face entirely?"

Lin Tian deliberately elongated the word "second" in his speech. Bai Yufeng’s facial expression kept changing, a mix of smiles and barely concealed anger.

I hope you get so frustrated, pretty boy, that it causes you an internal injury, Lin Tian malignantly thought.

"Miss Xiao Manxuan, I have a friend waiting for me inside, so I’ll take my leave first," Bai Yufeng said, knowing that if he stayed any longer, he really might end up with an internal injury provoked by Lin Tian, and hurriedly took his leave.

Once Bai Yufeng and his companions had walked far away, the group finally burst out laughing.

"Lin Tian, be careful of that Uncle Zhao; he is an Ancient Martial Artist," Zhang Lingyu warned him in a soft voice as she moved closer.

"Is that so? And how did you come to realize that, classmate Zhang Lingyu? Ordinary people haven’t even heard the term ’Ancient Martial Artist’," Lin Tian asked, his eyes flashing.
