Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Kidnapping?
It wasn’t the sales clerk’s fault for being timid and fearful, as the robbery that had occurred previously was still vivid in his mind. The moment he saw someone smashing the glass, he thought there was another robbery happening.
Originally, Lin Tian had wanted to lure Sun Decai and his companion to the jewelry counter and provoke him with words, making him lose face severely. Given this young man’s temperament, he would definitely lose his temper. Lin Tian would then secretly shake the glass till it broke, and Xiao Manxuan would pretend to shout "robbery," pinning the disaster on Sun Decai.
Perhaps Sun Decai was unlucky for not consulting the almanac before going out. Without Lin Tian having to speak, Master Zhou showed up, an expert in jade appraisal, who recognized at a glance that the bracelet was fake. Together with a naturally dramatic sales clerk, Sun Decai’s loss was set in stone.
The shouts of the sales clerk caused chaos throughout the first floor. The security room quickly dispatched seven guards, with Lin Tian’s acquaintance, Hu Zi, running the fastest. He came up and forcefully held down Sun Decai, but Sun Decai, being bold and tough, wouldn’t stand for such humiliation.
He had also trained in taekwondo and was quite skilled. Sun Decai flipped over and tried to counterattack. Lin Tian, standing behind, quickly stretched out a foot and tapped his knee, causing Sun Decai to lose his balance and fall flat on his face. He gave Hu Zi a subtle glance, and Hu Zi nodded in understanding.
Hu Zi yelled and pounced, pinning Sun Decai down, while the guards who followed saw Sun Decai still struggling fiercely and kicked his ribs a few times. These guards, because of scolding from their bosses and salary deductions after the previous robbery, were filled with pent-up anger.
Now, they took out their frustration on Sun Decai. Qi Jing, standing by, was shocked beyond words, having never seen such a scene before. Sun Decai, beaten to within an inch of his life, finally realized what was happening and started yelling, "You’ve got the wrong person, you’ve got the wrong person."
The police arrived even faster than before, but by the time they got there Sun Decai was already completely subdued. After questioning by the police, it was clear that there had been a misunderstanding, but Sun Decai was still sternly warned by the police not to disturb public order. After this incident, Sun Decai could only leave shamefully, with no face to stay any longer.
"Young man, please wait," Lin Tian was called back just as he was about to leave, by Master Zhou, who smiled at him and said, "Young man, you truly have a good eye. How did you see that the jade bracelet was fake? That bracelet was very skillfully faked; even I had to observe it for a long time before I noticed."
Master Zhou’s words left Lin Tian utterly embarrassed. He knew nothing about appraising jade and had entirely relied on his X-ray vision, which was no match for Master Zhou’s real skill.
Lin Tian awkwardly waved his hand and replied, "Master Zhou, you flatter me. I don’t really have good eyesight. It was just that the bracelet was caught in the light, and I noticed that the patterns inside looked stagnant rather than lively, so I took the liberty of saying it was fake."
Lin Tian couldn’t mention his X-ray vision, so he made up an excuse. Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, Master Zhou believed his explanation.
"Young man, just call me Elder Zhou. The title of master is just a casual nickname my friends use; it shouldn’t be taken seriously. If you truly haven’t studied the art of jade appraisal, it seems you naturally have a sensitivity to jade, which is quite rare. If not for my worldly concerns, I would love to sit down and discuss it with you."
Master Zhou’s words startled Lin Tian. The old man’s insight was too keen; his so-called ’sensitivity’ was actually his X-ray vision! Watching Elder Zhou walk away, Lin Tian thought he’d have to be more discreet about using his X-ray vision in the future, as some astute individuals might discover his supernatural ability.
Before leaving, Lin Tian gave Hu Zi three thousand yuan to treat his fellow guards to a meal, knowing that one must provide benefits if one wants help; otherwise, no one would assist him in the future.
With Sun Decai no longer bothering them, Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan’s shopping experience was much more relaxed. He also observed the almost tireless nature of women when shopping.
They played until dusk fell, and only then did Xiao Manxuan remember that it was time to head home. As they walked to the underground parking lot, Lin Tian was covered in bags, grateful for his zombie-like stamina, which stood up to the little girl’s exhausting shopping spree.
Just as they got into the car, the parking lot lights suddenly went out, and, oddly, the emergency lights didn’t turn on. Xiao Manxuan, sitting in the passenger seat, nervously grabbed Lin Tian’s arm; not screaming was already a sign of good composure.
For Lin Tian, who had night vision, darkness was no issue. He patted Xiao Manxuan’s shoulder to calm her down.
"Stay in the car, don’t get out. It seems a few small fries have come in." Lin Tian got out of the car and locked the door; his vehicle was bulletproof and modified, impervious to regular firearms.
Ten people had entered the parking lot, each wielding a dagger, and the leader also had a handgun tucked at his waist.
They didn’t seem like mere thugs, Lin Tian frowned. Initially, he thought Sun Decai had sought revenge, but the precise movements and cold expressions of the ten men indicated they weren’t ordinary thugs. Since they weren’t ordinary thugs, they must have been after Xiao Manxuan.
"Damn, it’s a kidnapping! Who could the Xiao Family have offended that even their innocent family members are affected? Since that’s the case, all ten of you must die, not shocking your employer will only make them more arrogant." Lin Tian smirked coldly to himself, expressionless as he walked towards them.
"Who? Stop right there!" The leader had good eyesight and spotted Lin Tian first. Seeing that Lin Tian continued to advance, he quickly drew his gun and fired a shot at Lin Tian, the gunshot very quiet, clearly equipped with a silencer.
"How ruthless, killing at the slightest disagreement, heh, but I like it, such blood must taste delicious." Lin Tian licked his lips, he did not want to suppress his bloodlust for too long, as it would be disastrous if it burst out one day.
Just perfect, ten preys delivered themselves to his doorstep. Lin Tian spoke and then vanished, reappearing behind the leader. He opened his mouth, his zombie teeth exposed, and bit into the leader’s neck.
A stream of fresh blood sprayed out, all of it sucked into Lin Tian’s mouth. In the blink of an eye, the leader was drained of blood, collapsing limp to the ground without even a chance to scream.
"Big Brother!"
"Big Brother!"
"You killed our Big Brother, go to hell!" Everything had happened too fast, the remaining nine didn’t see how their leader died or they would have been terrified. They gripped their daggers and charged at Lin Tian, aiming for his vitals.
"Pfft pfft pfft..."
Lin Tian let them attack, his body was stabbed over a dozen times. He scoffed disdainfully, quickly materializing shadows, appearing behind one of the criminals, took a bite, and in a blink, he drained another’s blood. Before the criminal fell, Lin Tian quickly appeared behind another criminal and similarly drained his blood.
In just a few seconds, only the last criminal was left at the scene, looking in terror at the horrific sight before him, nearly on the verge of breakdown.
"Who sent you, speak!" The criminal was startled by Lin Tian’s sinister voice, collapsing to the ground.
"No, I don’t know, the higher-ups contact us one-to-one, they never reveal their information." The criminal, terrified out of his wits, spilled everything as soon as Lin Tian asked.
"I see." Lin Tian thought for a moment, seeing that he didn’t seem to be lying and knew he wouldn’t get any useful information, then leisurely said, "Look, your boss is dead too, I’ll be kind and send you to meet him."
"No..." The criminal didn’t finish his sentence before Lin Tian drained his blood, and in less than five minutes, all ten attackers were dead!
After straightening his clothes and returning to normal, Lin Tian finally went back to the car, and as soon as he got in, he was hugged by Xiao Manxuan. The little girl was still trembling slightly, clearly quite frightened.
In the dark, deserted parking lot, cramped inside the car, Lin Tian felt the atmosphere might be heading in a certain direction, while Xiao Manxuan, having just flung herself at him, had her right hand conveniently resting on Lin Tian’s thigh.
"What have you hidden in your pocket?" Xiao Manxuan said curiously, grabbing and squeezing hard, which made Lin Tian inhale sharply.
"Ah!" Xiao Manxuan suddenly realized something, let out a low cry, and quickly moved away like she was shocked, straightening her body. Her pretty face flushed red, turning red even to the tips of her ears.
"It was an accident, completely an accident." Lin Tian said awkwardly twice, then started the car and left the parking lot.
Not long after he left, a purple-clothed girl appeared in the parking lot. She looked at the corpses on the ground, stamped her foot, and said angrily, "I finally detected a zombie scent, and he managed to escape again."
