After they left, one of the Colonels turned to Wei Ying and said, "Captain Wei, your team will come with us to the Capital. You will be responsible for protecting us."

Wei Ying stood up and replied, "Colonel, my team is in charge of escorting the survivors and managing the evacuation. We can't follow you."

The moment he finished speaking, Wei Ying gave them a military salute and left the room with his team.

When the news spread that the Phantom Team was going to clear out the zombie horde, everyone in the camp was stunned. Many lamented that they were taking a suicide mission.

If the government could treat the families of active-duty soldiers like that, what reason did they have to believe they would honor their sacrifices and treat their families well after their death?

Sensing the low mood, Wei Ying said, "Everyone, find out your families' situations. After this crisis, we will head to the Capital and bring them back."

The soldiers straightened and responded in unison, "Understood."
