So … how large is Number 9: Dyson Sphere? Just wondering. I mean, it is a space station built around a star, right? So it is larger than a planet at least, even if we assume the star it holds is a small one. 

Can I even summon something that large without causing mass panic? People will think the aliens are invading or something if I summon the Dyson Sphere. 

Well, I guess I’ll find out when I summon the thing in the Factory. Because you better believe I’m summoning it in the Factory first. … goes Dyson Sphere even fit into the Factory? Isn’t it larger than the entire Factory?

Okay. In the last pack I at least got something new. Giant Soldier of Steel is a decent defensive wall, but not much else. Well, I guess the effect damage protection is also nice.

But still. What a terrible opening. And because of it, I think I’ll change my plans. I was going to open some Cosmo Blazer packs, but Abyss Rising is showing clear signs that it is ready to be fully completed. And that is just what I’ll do.

So Abyss Rising, you better be ready because you have 200 pack tokens coming at you.

See! I got so many new cards! This set just didn’t want to give them to me from the regular packs. 

Madolche Messengelato can add a "Madolche" Spell or Trap from deck to hand, so that is okay. Sure there is the condition, but I can meet it.

Mermail Abysspike searches level 3 Waters.

Mermail Abyssgunde specials a Mermail from the GY when it is discarded.

Mermail Abyssmander banishes itself to increase the levels of your Mermail monsters by 1 or 2.

Advanced Heraldry Art is just a free Xyz monster as long as you have the correct monsters in your GY.

Mind Pollutant is a mind control card, but I have better and easier to use cards for that.

Gagagigo the Risen I already had. A Duelist League Promo version. But it is new from the set.

Retort is actually quite good for mirror matches. Not only does it negate the card, but you can add that card back to your hand so you can reuse it next turn. I might need to print it for some of my tournaments, as they have quite the limited card pool, so people will be using the same Spells and Traps.

Thunder Sea Horse is great. Until you get to the ‘You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this effect.’ part. That makes it basically unusable. 

The Grand Spellbook Tower is nice. It recycles Spellbooks and let’s you special a Spellcaster when it is destroyed.

Spellbook Library of the Heliosphere is situational, but it can technically be a Pot of Greed. 

Attack the Moon! is an anime reference, but as a card, it is okay at best.

Red Dragon Ninja is okay. Removing a set card is fine enough, especially since that card can’t be activated in response.

Abyss-squall is a Xyz setup. You get 3 Mermails without their effects. What else are you going to do with them?

Madolchepalooza just summons any number of "Madolche" monsters from your hand. Cool, but I can just summon them without this proto pendulum summoning card. 

Memory of an Adversary is kind of interesting. You get to banish an attacking monster, Dimensional Prison style, but after a turn, it is special summoned to your field. That is quite good.

Forbidden Dress is another great addition to the Forbidden series. A small attack drop but the immunity to targeting and destruction is nice.

Heroic Champion - Kusanagi just negates traps and gains attack.

Gagaga Cowboy can shoot you in the face.

Abyss-sphere specials Mermails from the deck, but I have other cards for that.

Empress of Prophecy is interesting. First of all, how is it worded? ‘This card gains 300 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to a monster you control.’ Which one? Can I pick? Can I change which one? Should it be for the materials attached to all monsters? That would at least make sense. The shuffle, reveal and pop effect is at least worded correctly.

And Heroic Champion - Gandiva can just negate special summons of lever 4 and lower monsters.

Now, let’s see how many cards I didn’t get.


And there are just six of them.

Mermail Abyssmegalo searches “Abyss-" Spells or Traps and can attack twice.

Moulinglacia the Elemental Lord has an easy special summoning condition and rips two cards from your opponent’s hand.

Spellbook of Fate is pretty meh. The banishing effect is nice, but you need to banish 3 Spellbooks for that.

One-Eyed Skill Gainer would be much better if it didn’t have to detach a material to gain the name and effect of the monster it is trying to copy. But honestly speaking, a copycat like this could be useful.

Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage is literally just a better form of the One-Eyed Skill Gainer. It also copies the name and effect of the targeted monster, but Genom-Heritage does it without having to detach a material. Also, Genom-Heritage gets the attack of the copied monster and reduces that monster's attack to 0. It is just so much better.

And last, Bahamut Shark. You know what it does. It summons Rank 3 or lower Water Xyz monsters. From the deck. So it can make new ones. So it is busted.

But yeah. That is Abyss Rising completed. Got some good cards. And I got new Number monsters, so let me quickly check how many of them I now have.


And indeed, I got up to 40 unique Number monsters. Which means that I can now use the Numeron Code Invisibility. I wonder how invisible it will make me? It says ‘become unseen by anything and everything’ so it might be extremely potent. I need to test if any skills or cards I can use can see through it.
