CH.560 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #13

CH.560 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #13

Today is just a Pack Opening day. I’ll be doing 20 packs of , and then either 10 or 20 packs of .

So let’s get to it.

Spoiler

EXVC 1

Localized Tornado; TG1-EM1; Scrap Kong; The Resolute Meklord Army; Mental Seeker; TGX300; T.G. Warwolf; W Nebula Meteorite; Hushed Psychic Cleric

[collapse]

Well, nothing new in the first pack, so straight to the second one.

Spoiler

EXVC 2

Axe Dragonute; Morphtronic Staplen; W Nebula Meteorite; Sealing Ceremony of Mokuton; TGX1-HL; Meklord Army of Wisel; Aurora Paragon; Lancer Lindwurm; T.G. Recipro Dragonfly

[collapse]

Nothing new, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 3

Reboot; Runaway Karakuri; TG-SX1; Meklord Army of Skiel; Lancer Lindwurm; Red Carpet; TGX300; Tradetoad; Blackwing - Kogarashi the Wanderer

[collapse]

Okay. Third pack making up for it. Two new cards.

Tradetoad might not be crazy, but it isn’t bad either. … and frog legs still taste good.

Blackwing - Kogarashi the Wanderer is good enough of a Blackwing. The best part is the ‘opponent cannot respond’, as it inflicts a temporary stun effect on people. Sure you can resist it, but most don’t have the skills to resist it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 4

Tyrant's Tantrum; Contact with the Aquamirror; Gladiator Beast Tygerius; Boon of the Meklord Emperor; Axe Dragonute; Meklord Army of Skiel; The Resolute Meklord Army; Scrap Kong; Tradetoad

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 5

TGX300; ESP Amplifier; TG-SX1; W Nebula Meteorite; Six Style - Dual Wield; T.G. Catapult Dragon; Mektimed Blast; Out of the Blue; Psi-Beast

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 6

TGX300; W Nebula Meteorite; T.G. Catapult Dragon; Scrap Kong; Morphtronic Staplen; Power-Up Adapter; Contact with the Aquamirror; Meklord Army of Skiel; Hushed Psychic Cleric

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 7

Force Resonator; Psychic Reactor; T.G. Warwolf; Elder of the Six Samurai; Resonant Destruction; Contact with the Aquamirror; Morphtronic Lantron; Mystic Piper; Junk Servant

[collapse]

Mystic Piper is interesting. The tribute for a draw effect is nothing special. Some might call it okay, but with Cardcar D being a thing, I don’t think many people would consider Mystic Piper. Sure you don’t have to give up the rest of your turn for Piper, but draw two is better than draw 1. But that is only if we ignore the second part of Piper. If you draw a Level 1 Monster, you get to draw again. So you turn a level 1 monster into potentially 2 draws if your deck is built for it, and if you are lucky.

So yeah. Piper is actually pretty okay, sometimes. I think he might do good in a Lyrilusc deck. Maybe.

Next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 8

TGX300; T.G. Jet Falcon; Elder of the Six Samurai; Serene Psychic Witch; W Nebula Meteorite; Meklord Army of Skiel; The Resolute Meklord Army; Scrap Kong; Tradetoad

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 9

Resonant Destruction; Six Style - Dual Wield; Karakuri Ninja mdl 7749 "Nanashick"; T.G. Warwolf; Meklord Army of Wisel; Psychic Reactor; Gladiator Beast Tygerius; Meklord Army of Skiel; Resonator Call

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 10

Six Style - Dual Wield; Gladiator Beast Tygerius; Mental Seeker; Tyrant's Tantrum; Morphtronic Lantron; Clock Resonator; Meklord Army of Skiel; TGX1-HL; Salvage Warrior

[collapse]

Still nothing new. Kind of a disappointing first 10 packs. Only three new cards. But I guess one being a secret rare and the other being an ultimate rare somewhat makes up for it.

But now to the second 10.

Spoiler

EXVC 11

Karakuri Komachi mdl 224 "Ninishi"; Contact with the Aquamirror; Morphtronic Lantron; Tyrant's Tantrum; Force Resonator; Sealing Ceremony of Mokuton; Six Style - Dual Wield; T.G. Striker; T.G. Blade Blaster

[collapse]

T.G. Blade Blaster is pretty cool. Sadly it is just a worse Shooting Star Dragon, but it is still a good monster.

Next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 12

T.G. Warwolf; Force Resonator; ESP Amplifier; Lancer Lindwurm; Meklord Factory; Meklord Army of Wisel; Power-Up Adapter; Six Style - Dual Wield; Necro Defender

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 13

Karakuri Ninja mdl 7749 "Nanashick"; Force Resonator; Sealing Ceremony of Mokuton; Morphtronic Staplen; Contact with the Aquamirror; T.G. Catapult Dragon; Out of the Blue; Self-Mummification; Chaos Infinity

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 14

Localized Tornado; Karakuri Ninja mdl 7749 "Nanashick"; Mektimed Blast; Unknown Synchron; Contact with the Aquamirror; TG-SX1; Tyrant's Tantrum; Out of the Blue; Meklord Fortress

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 15

Serene Psychic Witch; Contact with the Aquamirror; Morphtronic Lantron; TGX300; Scrap Kong; W Nebula Meteorite; Morphtronic Staplen; T.G. Jet Falcon; Salvage Warrior

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 16

Power-Up Adapter; Contact with the Aquamirror; Scrap Kong; Scarlet Security; Gladiator Beast Tygerius; Psychic Reactor; Axe Dragonute; Red Dragon Vase; Full House

[collapse]

Scarlet Security is pretty nice. Sure it is just a conditional Harpie’s Feather Duster, but Feather Duster is OP, so a conditional variant of it is still good.

Full House is kind of the same. Super specific, but also very powerful. Destroying 5 spell/traps is a crazy effect. But yeah, too situational for actual use.

Next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 17

Clock Resonator; Resonant Destruction; Axe Dragonute; Out of the Blue; The Resolute Meklord Army; Localized Tornado; Scrap Kong; Dodger Dragon; Soundproofed

[collapse]

Dodger Dragon is okay-ish. It really should prevent all trap use, but that might be too much. Still, 1900 is good stats, the ‘This card's Normal Summon cannot be negated’ effect is nice, and sure counter traps are rare, but they are a thing, so yeah. Dodger Dragon is good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

EXVC 18

Elder of the Six Samurai; Aurora Paragon; Force Resonator; TGX1-HL; Scarlet Security; Fortissimo the Mobile Fortress; Meklord Factory; Red Carpet; Meklord Army of Granel

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

EXVC 19

Power-Up Adapter; Scrap Kong; Red Dragon Vase; Out of the Blue; Reboot; Localized Tornado; Gladiator Beast Tygerius; Sealing Ceremony of Mokuton; Meklord Fortress

[collapse]

Nothing new here, last pack. Of this set.

Spoiler

EXVC 20

Mektimed Blast; Scarlet Security; Serene Psychic Witch; W Nebula Meteorite; Lancer Lindwurm; Boon of the Meklord Emperor; The Resolute Meklord Army; Meklord Factory; Junk Servant

[collapse]

Nothing new here, sadly. So I guess the second ten weren’t much better than the first ten.

But getting a second Scarlet Security does get me to think. Should I install one into myself?

A skill that let’s me break all spells, and traps, would be quite good. And I do have both Dragon Hearted and Dragon King races, so I think I might be able to take the install, even if I’m not Red Dragon Archfiend.

I’ll test it out later and consider it as my next install.

But now, time for a set change. Generation Force will definitely have some new cards, since I’ve only opened 10 packs thus far.

Spoiler

GENF 1

Skull Kraken; Damage Vaccine Omega MAX; Poseidon Wave; Crashbug Y; Underworld Egg Clutch; Phantom Magician; Tyrant's Tummyache; Wind-Up Dog; Masked HERO Goka

[collapse]

Phantom Magician is pretty good. Summoning stuff from the deck is great, even if it is only after being destroyed by battle.

Masked HERO Goka on the other hand is just attack points, gaining more for each HERO in the GY. So I think I’ll just use Shining Flare Wingman instead of him. But Goka isn’t bad.

Also Wind-Up Dog reminds me of something. I did look into wind-up toys, and they are both simple and difficult, depending on what you want them to do. I can definitely produce some if I want to, but I think magic toys are better. They teach better skills, Mana Control, to children, so I'd rather produce them.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 2

Explosive Urchin; Milla the Temporal Magician; Wind-Up Dog; Elemental HERO Flash; Thunder Short; Gem-Elephant; Spearfish Soldier; Peeking Goblin; Big Jaws

[collapse]

Big Jaws is kind of bad. Like sure, 1800 attack is good for a level 3, but banishing itself at the end of the battle phase if it attacked. That is just way too much for 1800 attack.

Also, like with Wind-Up Dog, I can confirm that Milla the Temporal Magician is a good Time Magic teacher. She is really good when it comes to foresight and stuff like that. As well as seeing things that cannot be seen. Like traps. Kind of on brand for her.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 3

Crashbug X; Flyfang; Laval Magma Cannoneer; Crashbug Y; Phantom Magician; Past Image; Master of the Flaming Dragonswords; Cracking; Resonance Device

[collapse]

Cracking isn’t awful, but … okay, maybe it is. Sure 800 burn is nice, but too situational. I’ll just use a dedicated burn card instead of this.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 4

Poseidon Wave; Mask Change; Perditious Puppeteer; Gogogo Golem; Phantom Magician; Crashbug X; Future Glow; Overwind; United Front

[collapse]

Mask Change is nice. Need it to summon Masked HEROes.

Perditious Puppeteer, I tested him, isn’t as overpowered as I at first assumed. He can only control up to 10 people at the same time. Still powerful, but not to the level where he can control an entire city. But I suppose I can summon 10 of him at the same time, so that is 100 people under my control.

And United Front is a decent enough Counter Trap. The condition is easy to achieve, and negating traps is good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 5

Tyrant's Tummyache; Asleep at the Switch; Thunder Short; Underworld Egg Clutch; Burgeoning Whirlflame; Geargiano; Crashbug X; Utopian Aura; Big Jaws

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

GENF 6

Gravelstorm; Saambell the Summoner; The Great Emperor Penguin; Crashbug Z; Double or Nothing!; Utopian Aura; Poseidon Wave; Spearfish Soldier; Star Changer

[collapse]

Star Changer might work as a Level Up!. I think it should at least. Sure it will likely only be 1 level, instead of 2 like Level Up!, but when it comes to skills, that doesn’t really matter.

You can also level down stuff with it, probably including skills. So yeah. Star Changer is great.[Note: Brian later realizes that Star Changer only works on overall level, not skill levels, so Level Up! and Level Down?! are still the better cards for the job.]

Spoiler

GENF 7

Past Image; Spearfish Soldier; Elemental HERO Flash; Aqua Jet; Future Glow; Oni-Gami Combo; Gogogo Golem; Masked HERO Goka; A Hero Lives

[collapse]

A Hero Lives is amazing. Maybe not for me, but for TCG use, yes. I think had a certain competitor, hint, hint, Damian, had access to it for the last tournament, he might have won.

But yeah. For me, I can just freely add a card from the Collection to my hand, and then I can just summon it. No need to pay half my life points. Or HP.

… Unless A Hero Lives makes a new card. In which case, it should be able to make Heroes I don’t yet have access to. I’ll need to run a few experiments to see if I can get new Heroes.

But now to the next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 8

Burgeoning Whirlflame; Underworld Egg Clutch; Elemental HERO Flash; Flyfang; Explosive Urchin; Poki Draco; Phantom Magician; Crashbug Y; Oh F!sh!

[collapse]

Oh F!sh! is pretty good. Negating effects is always good, and shuffling a banished Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua-Type monster into the deck isn’t a cost, it is an advantage. … well, depending on the deck.

But that name… whose idea was it to replace an i with an exclamation mark.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 9

Mask Change; Phantom Magician; Gogogo Golem; Achacha Archer; Double or Nothing!; Milla the Temporal Magician; Elemental HERO Flash; Crashbug Y; Masked HERO Goka

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

GENF 10

The Great Emperor Penguin; Crashbug Road; Crashbug Y; Vylon Filament; Achacha Archer; Master of the Flaming Dragonswords; Crashbug Z; Perditious Puppeteer; Wind-Up Snail

[collapse]

Wind-Up Snail is actually kind of cool. Because it can return set monsters to the hand. Yeah, I know. How often does that come up? Like never, but it is cool for TCG use. Especially if the Snail had come out earlier. Sadly it didn’t, but there were still some monsters set during the Xyz era.

… And I think I can do 10 more packs, so let’s continue. And it will, hopefully, make up for the fact that I only got 1 higher rarity card from the last 10.

Spoiler

GENF 11

Double or Nothing!; Flyfang; Perditious Puppeteer; Gem-Elephant; Treaty on Uniform Nomenclature; Tyrant's Tummyache; Drill Barnacle; Gusto Codor; Skystarray

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

GENF 12

Tyrant's Tummyache; Saambell the Summoner; Flyfang; Double or Nothing!; Crashbug X; Asleep at the Switch; Crashbug Road; Drill Barnacle; Gishki Diviner

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

GENF 13

Future Glow; Geargiano; Skull Kraken; Perditious Puppeteer; Crashbug Z; Master of the Flaming Dragonswords; Gem-Elephant; Vylon Filament; Jawsman

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

GENF 14

Treaty on Uniform Nomenclature; Goblindbergh; Drill Barnacle; Gravelstorm; Achacha Archer; Laval Magma Cannoneer; Poki Draco; The Great Emperor Penguin; Gishki Diviner

[collapse]

Goblindbergh is great. More goblins for my goblin army. Though I do wonder. Does a bank's security team need a goblin flying a plane? Probably not, but my goblins will say yes.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 15

Saambell the Summoner; The Great Emperor Penguin; Peeking Goblin; Cracking; Treaty on Uniform Nomenclature; Poki Draco; Drill Barnacle; Leviair the Sea Dragon; Bright Future

[collapse]

Leviair isn’t new, but I didn’t have the ultimate rare variant yet, only the ultra rare.

And Bright Future is new. And it is fine. Return banished stuff to the GY and draw a card. Nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 16

Spearfish Soldier; Milla the Temporal Magician; Cracking; Crashbug Road; Wind-Up Soldier; Tyrant's Tummyache; Drill Barnacle; Utopian Aura; Wind-Up Magician

[collapse]

Wind-Up Magician is new. And he is decent enough. As I say, special summoning from the deck is great. Even for me, as it just makes new cards.

Next pack.

Spoiler

GENF 17

Elemental HERO Flash; Future Glow; Asleep at the Switch; Treaty on Uniform Nomenclature; Milla the Temporal Magician; Skull Kraken; Drill Barnacle; Goblindbergh; Jawsman

[collapse]

More planes for the Goblin army, but still nothing new here.

Next.

Spoiler

GENF 18

Vylon Filament; Gravelstorm; Milla the Temporal Magician; Underworld Egg Clutch; Perditious Puppeteer; Utopian Aura; Damage Vaccine Omega MAX; Asleep at the Switch; Star Changer

[collapse]

Nothing new, next.

Spoiler

GENF 19

Laval Magma Cannoneer; Damage Vaccine Omega MAX; Poki Draco; Underworld Egg Clutch; Peeking Goblin; Vylon Filament; Saambell the Summoner; Submersible Carrier Aero Shark; Resonance Device

[collapse]

Submersible Carrier Aero Shark is good enough for a rank 3. It has okay stats and with the correct setup, the burn effect can be really powerful. … okay, honestly speaking, you’ll basically never get more than 500 burn damage with it, but that is still okay for a rank 3.

Next, and final, pack.

Spoiler

GENF 20

Explosive Urchin; Geargiano; Flyfang; Crashbug Road; Future Glow; Crashbug Z; Underworld Egg Clutch; Oni-Gami Combo; Jawsman

[collapse]

Sadly nothing new here. Not a great way to end, but what can you do? No, opening more packs isn’t the answer. I already opened 40. That is enough for one day. Don’t want to get addicted.

… what do you mean I already am? No I’m not. I’m spending 0 dollars on these packs. Can’t be addicted to something that is free. … right? Right?!
