Young Noble Be Monster Slaying
Chapter 956: Evil Little Shit

In the dead of night, a cascade of divine fire suddenly lit up Mount Shu, and a violet-gold mushroom cloud rose above Silver Sword Peak.

Chujiu, the Jiuli celestial beast, clutched its little bamboo stalks as it trembled all over, unsure where the intense fire was. It curled into a tight ball, burying its face inside as if doing so would hide it from the world.

Meanwhile, the Golden-Furred Hou was lying on the ground. Its large eyes flitted around wildly, trying to decide whether it should perform its duties as the family Hou[1]. It treasured its life, but it treasured its home too. However, even if it laid down its life to protect its home, could it really protect it? The limited wisdom inside its big head quickly gave it an answer: Obviously not.

The blast shook the Koi sisters off their bed. They looked outside and saw that divine fire filled half the sky. Terribly frightened by the sight, they clutched each other's hands and huddled against their bed. They didn't dare go outside. With so much divine fire out there, the slightest touch would turn them into grilled fish, and that was the best-case scenario. The next-best was that they would turn into ash.

The Fierce Draconic Colt, on the other hand, was rather excited. As a fire demonic beast, it loved this kind of atmosphere. However, the moment it tried to rush outside and revel in the heat, it was blasted back by a surge of scorching air. Even among fire types, there was a hierarchy, and this level of divine fire was not something a demonic beast at its level could touch.

The late night shone as bright as day. Mount Shu was shaken awake, filling its residents with panic.

Di Nufeng was the only one who showed no reaction. She sat blankly on her bed without saying a word, seemingly deep in thought.

She was also the only one who could clearly sense what was happening. The divine fire that now filled the air was the Samadhi True Fire, exclusive to the Divine Fire Spirit. It had descended from the heavens and landed on Mount Shu for one reason… to acknowledge its master.

Di Nufeng had reached the pinnacle of the seventh realm a long time ago. Standing at the threshold of the Great Dao of Incinerating Heaven, she was qualified to challenge the Dao Master of Incinerating Heaven. Nevertheless, now that these endless waves of divine fire had descended to her location, it meant she no longer needed to fight to become the Dao Master of Incinerating Heaven. That position had already been given to her.

Yet, she looked rather gloomy.

The good news was that she had broken through to the eighth realm.

The eighth realm that she had long dreamed of attaining… she no longer had to plot or fight for it. As the Dao essence that filled the sky descended upon her, she felt like the yellow robes of the emperor had draped over her head. She now had the support of the Dao essence of Incinerating Heaven. Di Nufeng had searched far and wide to no avail for some of that Dao essence, only for it to fall into her lap without any effort.

The bad news was that her father was dead.

There could only be one reason that she was now the Dao Master of Incinerating Heaven. The previous Dao Master of Incinerating Heaven, Imperial Guardian Mingde, had perished, and the other candidates for the next Dao Master of Incinerating Heaven were no match for Di Nufeng. She had been standing at the threshold of attaining the Great Dao for a long time, making it easy for the Great Dao to acknowledge her as its new master.

Di Nufeng had gained control of the Great Dao at the cost of her father's life. It's likely her younger self would have happily made the trade without any hesitation. Afterward, she might have even regretted that everyone only had one father and that she would've wanted to make the trade again and again.

Nonetheless, Di Nufeng was different now. After spending so many years immersed in Mount Shu's environment, she had become a bit more humane. She had always claimed she would challenge Mingde for the Great Dao of Incinerating Heaven, but she had never taken any real action.

There had been times when she felt weaker than Jiang Tiankuo, weaker than Yan Zi, and weaker than even her own disciple. It had made her anxious, but she had remained unwilling to take action against her father, regardless of what the result might have been.

Yet, the Great Dao of Incinerating Heaven had come to her on its own today.

Di Nufeng gazed in the direction of the capital of Yu, wondering what had happened. What kind of calamity could have claimed the life of even an Imperial Guardian on the verge of reaching the pinnacle of the eighth realm?

She picked up her Circle of Immortal Friends Token. It was utter chaos inside the Circle of Immortal Friends.

The screen was flooded with the same explosive piece of news.

Evil Ksitigarbha has awakened. The capital of Yu has been destroyed.

With a thunderous blast, the pavilion of Silver Sword Peak's master was reduced to nothing once more.

On Treasured Pagoda Peak, Tuntun had just finished her lessons for the day and was now asleep. As she lay on her little bed, she hugged a finely made rag doll that resembled a pink rabbit.

Liu Xiaoyu'er had told her that the people on Mount Shu loved rabbits, especially rabbit heads... They were a must-have at every meal. Then she gave Tuntun this rabbit doll. Tuntun adored it and hugged it every night as she slept.

Suddenly, Tuntun opened her eyes.

She sensed a stream of qi locking onto her from afar. It was the presence of a tremendous threat that alarmed even her life essence. She had no concept of the levels of cultivation in the mortal realm, but this was the first time she had ever felt something was dangerous.

That threat left her feeling uneasy.

However, the fox demon Caiyi was no longer accompanying her on Mount Shu, and Chu Liang wasn't around either. Tuntun didn't know who to turn to. After thinking for a moment, she decided to go find her best friend, Liu Xiaoyu'er.

Yet, just as she stepped out of her pavilion, that intense stream of qi arrived at her location. A beam of black light plunged down like a falling meteor, shooting straight at her!

Booooom!

As the black meteor landed, Treasured Pagoda Peak shattered on impact.

Tuntun dodged instinctively, jumping to a neighboring peak. Her swift landing stirred up a strong wind that whipped her black hair around.

Tuntun's eyes were filled with confusion. She couldn't understand why someone would suddenly attack her.

At Mount Shu, she had always been taught to be kind to others, so she believed the world was filled with goodness. This sudden malice toward her left her at a total loss as to what she should do.

Amid the shattered remains of Treasured Pagoda Peak, a terrifying figure, seemingly forged from black metal, stood tall and straight. It was, of course, Evil Ksitigarbha.

His cold gaze was locked on the young lady before him.

She was the mortal realm's current Hallowed One. All he needed to do was kill her, then there would be no demon or human who could be a match for him. He could strip this world of all its spiritual qi, and no one and nothing would be able to stand in his way anymore.

Tens of thousands of years ago, Evil Ksitigarbha had almost succeeded, but the Ancient Nameless Buddha suddenly appeared. The Ancient Nameless Buddha severed his link to his devil embryo to become a Hallowed One. With his ninth-realm cultivation power, he suppressed Evil Ksitigarbha.

The Ancient Nameless Buddha had been one of the most powerful Hallowed Ones ever. On the other hand, the young lady before Evil Ksitigarbha had the title of Demon God, but she did not have the full power of a Hallowed One. Her expression made it very clear that she didn't know how to fight.

The mortal realm was already within Evil Ksitigarbha's grasp.

When he destroyed the capital of Yu earlier, Evil Ksitigarbha felt nothing. Be it ordinary folks or eighth-realm cultivators, they were all like chickens and dogs to him. Very few of them even managed to withstand one blow.

He had only attacked the capital first because the Noble Dharma had said it would draw the attention of the immortal sects away. If Evil Ksitigarbha had gone after the Demon God straight away, it might have led to a stalemate. Then the interference of multiple eighth-and-a-half realm Eminent Ones might become the deciding factor leading to Evil Ksitigarbha's loss.

Now that the legendary artifacts of the immortal sects were all tied up in the chaos at the capital, Evil Ksitigarbha's sudden assault on Mount Shu gave him a fair one-on-one fight with the Demon God.

"Divine Demon God!" the Great High Priest called out as he landed behind Tuntun.

He was accompanied by Venerable Wen Yuan, the Guardian Elders, and other senior members of the Mount Shu Sect.

"Evil Ksitigarbha suddenly returned to life and destroyed the capital of Yu. Now, the nine provinces stand on the brink of collapse," said Venerable Wen Yuan solemnly. "He's come here to eliminate this world's only ninth-realm existence. After that, he would have free rein to indulge in unbridled actions. Esteemed Demon God, we ask that you fight."

The Mount Shu Sect had received the distress message from the capital of Yu earlier. However, the Whale-Riding Immortal had taken the sect's legendary artifact, Vessel of God, to the Divine Ruins Monastery, so Venerable Wen Yuan hadn't gone to aid the capital. Nevertheless, he gathered the higher-ups of the Mount Shu Sect to discuss how they should respond to the crisis.

They had merely exchanged a few words when Evil Ksitigarbha suddenly arrived at their doorstep.

In a way, his arrival saved them some effort. With Chu Liang absent, they had been unsure how to persuade the Demon God to fight. Nevertheless, now that Evil Ksitigarbha had come to them, the Demon God would have to fight regardless of whether she wanted to.

That said, there was still a big problem...

Tuntun's brows knitted together as she stared at the ugly and malevolent man before her. She really did feel angry at Evil Ksitigarbha.

Yet, after hearing Venerable Wen Yuan's words, she blinked and asked blankly, "Fight... how do I fight?"

That question left everyone speechless. In their efforts to defang the Demon God, the humans had only ever taught her love and peace—how to be civil, polite, and kind to others. No one had ever taught her how to fight. Now, they were suddenly pushing her onto the battlefield, so it was no wonder she was at a loss as to what she should do.

If she were fighting anyone else, she could probably crush them purely with the dominance of her cultivation level. However, she was up against someone of pretty much equal strength. How was this child supposed to know what she should do?

The higher-ups of the Mount Shu Sect felt a pang of regret. They had always seen the Demon God as humanity's greatest threat and tried every possible method to weaken her… never expecting that she would become their only hope.

Before anyone could speak, a streak of fire appeared in the distant skies, shooting toward Evil Ksitigarbha.

Simultaneously, the resonant cry of a phoenix rang out.

"YOU EVIL LITTLE SHIT! YOUR LIFE ENDS NOOOOOOW!!!"
