Young Noble Be Monster Slaying
Chapter 904: Want A Sip? (Teaser)

"A way to find the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda?"

The words made Chu Liang's heart skip a beat.

He had just returned from the battlefield at Devil Illusion Mountain. Daoist Yan, who had also taken part in the battle, was injured in the final explosion caused by the Ghost King and had come back early.

Chu Liang, however, had stayed behind to handle the aftermath before he could leave.

It was hard to kill off those disciples of the Dark King Sect. After their leader died, the True Form of Ksitigarbha spun out of control. No matter their cultivation level, the remaining disciples stood no chance against the legendary artifacts. Those who dropped to their knees and begged for mercy had a faint hope of survival. But those who tried to flee met a swift end. A single sweep from the Divine Mirror of the Eight Trigrams or a slash from the Chunyang Ancient Sword erased them completely. Not even ashes remained.

In the face of legendary artifacts, sheer numbers meant nothing when cultivation levels were low.

The disciples of the West Sea Diabolical Forces were stunned. Judging by the Great Devil's behavior, these people seemed like allies. But instead of feeling relieved, a question lingered in their minds. Why didn't they feel any joy at having such powerful allies?

Fortunately, the righteous sects treated them with relative leniency. Most of them were politely invited to the Imperial Supervisory Bureau for questioning. However, if they were found guilty of any crimes, they would face no mercy.

As for Immortal Yuan Lu, he had indeed rendered great service this time. But his past was rife with atrocities, and this one contribution couldn't wipe it all clean. How he would be handled would depend on the court's verdict.

None of that was the main concern. The most pressing issue now was how to handle the True Form of Ksitigarbha.

It was, after all, a legendary artifact. The Dark King Sect had flourished for years solely because of this treasure. Whoever possessed it could shift the balance of power in the world of immortality cultivation.

Before the battle began, Chu Liang had already coordinated with the various participating sects. If they succeeded in seizing the True Form of Ksitigarbha, all immortal sects would work together to seal and suppress it. If it ever needed to be used again, it would require the joint approval of all sects.

Everyone agreed to this arrangement.

Still, the sealing process remained troublesome. Fortunately, although the True Form of Ksitigarbha was a legendary artifact, it was nothing more than a lifeless object without someone to control it. The seal was primarily meant to prevent others from accessing it.

As soon as Chu Liang returned to Mount Shu, Venerable Wen Yuan summoned him to discuss official matters. By this point, Chu Liang's authority was nearly equal to that of Mount Shu's second-in-command. Even the Four Guardian Elders did not hold as much influence. When important issues arose, he had become indispensable.

The moment Chu Liang stepped into the Boundless Palace and saw Venerable Wen Yuan, Daoist Yan, Caiyi, and Baize were all present, he knew the matter had to be serious. It was serious enough that even the Guardian Elders were not qualified to attend.

Sure enough, the first thing Venerable Wen Yuan asked was, "The Demon King of the Verdant Foxhills claims she has a way to find the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda. What's your opinion?"

Chu Liang paused to think. What do I think? I think she's spouting nonsense.

When Caiyi tried to trade a method for locating the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda in exchange for the Heaven-Devouring Bug, she had mentioned this. However, at the time, Chu Liang had refused without hesitation.

Now, he was becoming increasingly convinced that the White Pagoda inside him might actually be the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda. After all, how many legendary artifacts in the world possessed such strange and overwhelming powers? Moreover, the Heaven-Devouring Bug was the only one known to exist after the Demon God had been trapped. It must have been sealed inside the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda and later released by him in the form of Tuntun.

However, the White Pagoda's powers did not fully match the records on the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda. Something must have changed, and it was no longer a tangible structure. Even so, Chu Liang felt a flicker of hope. If he could find the original tower, could he restore the full power of the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda?

Besides, with the Demon God now residing on Mount Shu, Chu Liang no longer feared any further schemes from Caiyi.

He turned to her, pretending to be surprised, and asked, "Is this true?"

"Absolutely," Caiyi replied with conviction.

After hearing the conditions required to locate the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda, Chu Liang finally understood why she had approached the Mount Shu Sect in the first place. It was not just because the Mount Shu Sect wanted the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda back, but because they were essential for the search to succeed.

"When Yan Renjie and I were married," Caiyi said, "I left a fox tail hair on him. With that, I could have found him no matter where he went in the world. But after the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda vanished, my connection to the hair became faint and unclear. I could no longer pinpoint its location. Even so, I can still sense that it exists.

"With greater support, I might be able to construct an illusion that reveals the scene where the hair is now. If we can find Yan Renjie, there's a good chance we'll also discover the location of the Demon-Suppressing Pagoda."

"What do you need?" Venerable Wen Yuan asked.

"Places where Yan Renjie used to live, or objects he frequently used. Anything that still holds his aura," Caiyi said. "I'll also need the Divine Mirror of the Eight Trigrams to help construct the illusion. And since I might run out of spiritual energy midway, I'll need a substantial amount of replenishment."

"No problem," Chu Liang replied without hesitation. "I can take care of all that."

While important matters were being discussed atop Heaven-Reaching Peak, something strange was unfolding at Silver Sword Peak.

Di Nufeng had just returned from an outing and was on her way back to her pavilion. As she flew over the berry garden, a flicker of confusion crossed her face. She slowed, turned around, and flew back the way she came.

"Hmm?" She scratched her head in confusion. "Wasn't there a berry garden here?"

The once-lush garden now lay in ruin. Only bare stems remained. Not a single flower was in sight, let alone any fruit. From a distance, it looked as if a natural disaster had swept through and left nothing behind.

Liu Xiaoyu'er stood frozen in the middle of the ruined garden and stared at Di Nufeng with wide eyes filled with despair.

"Xiaoyu'er?" Di Nufeng called out. "Did someone rob our garden?"

"N-no…" Liu Xiaoyu'er shook her head. "I just brought a classmate here. I wanted her to try the berries."

Di Nufeng asked, "Is your classmate population in the thousands or something?"

"I only brought one…" Liu Xiaoyu'er replied, still in disbelief. "She took the first bite and said it tasted great. Then she took a second bite... and now the garden looks like this."

"Good lord!" Di Nufeng raised her brows and exclaimed, "We've worked so hard growing these berries for years. You know how much they're worth? This is daylight robbery! I've only ever freeloaded off others. Never thought someone would actually rob me! What's your classmate's name? I'm going after her!"

"Big Sis Feng, it's not like that," Liu Xiaoyu'er said quickly. "Tuntun didn't mean any harm… She just had a bit too much appetite. She's really not a bad person."

"Whether she's a good person or not, she's still gotta pay!" Di Nufeng snapped. "Gobbling up everything and running off? That's not happening!"

She turned around and muttered as she walked away, "Tuntun, huh? I'm going to collect that debt."

"Waaaaaaait!" Xiaoyu'er called out. She tried to stop her, but it was too late.

With that, a blaze of red light blazed across the sky, heading straight for Treasured Pagoda Peak.

As luck would have it, both Daoist Yan and Caiyi were away, and no one had thought to keep watch. Di Nufeng seized the moment and easily tracked down her target.

Tuntun, the little girl in question, had just finished eating all the berries in one sitting. She was still savoring the taste, smacking her lips as if it reminded her of her childhood. She sat in the classroom at Treasured Pagoda Peak, smacking her lips in quiet contentment.

Suddenly, a tall and imposing woman in scarlet robes burst through the door and shouted, "Who here is Tuntun? How can anyone have a name that sounds like a pet's? Just hearing it, I can tell her parents had no sense. And she has the nerve to eat my berries without paying—"

Before Di Nufeng could finish, her eyes landed on a teenage girl in a black dress. She had delicate features, skin as fair as porcelain, and long hair draped over her shoulders.

The girl looked up at her with wide, watery eyes and asked timidly, "Big Sis, were you looking for me?"

"You're Tuntun?" Di Nufeng asked.

"Mm…" Tuntun nodded meekly and said, "I really did eat your berries… but… I don't have any money."

"Aiya!" Di Nufeng exclaimed, slapping her forehead the moment she saw the adorable girl. "I'm the worst!"

"Big Sis doesn't want your money. Big Sis wants a hug. Come here…" she said, stepping forward and pulling Tuntun into a hug.

Di Nufeng patted herself down. She hadn't brought any snacks, but she did find a wine gourd. Holding it out, she asked, "Want a sip?"

Tuntun tilted her head and asked curiously, "What is it?"

"It's delicious," Di Nufeng replied with a chuckle. "A delicacy of the mortal world."

"Then I'll try it…" Tuntun said.

Though she didn't know who this woman was and still felt a little afraid, the mention of something tasty stirred her appetite. She picked up the wine gourd and took a small sip.

"Hmm…" She blinked and said, "It tastes kinda funny…"

"Is it good?" Di Nufeng asked with a grin.

"I'll try it again," Tuntun said. This time, she raised the wine gourd and began to gulp.

Glug glug glug glug…

The gourd looked small, but it held a pocket world and could store an entire pool of wine. Once Tuntun started chugging, the wine flowed in an endless stream.

Di Nufeng stared in shock. This little thing looks so skinny. How can her stomach be this big?

"Don't drink so fast," Di Nufeng said, quickly snatching the wine gourd away.

Tuntun was already swaying. Her cheeks were flushed, and a silly smile lit up her face. Her dazed eyes looked up at Di Nufeng as she opened her mouth, but no words came out.

Di Nufeng rubbed her head and said, "Didn't expect you to be a little drunkard. You okay?"

Tuntun swayed slightly and stayed silent. After a brief pause, she suddenly let out a loud burp.

"Buuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrpp!"
