Chapter 249: 154: Awakening of the World-Ending Demon Emperor! (Important, Must Subscribe)_2
Suo Lun was suddenly stunned; he knew none of this, and the humans had never mentioned it either.
In the records of human books, the Barbarians were described as ugly and beast-like, with no mention of special abilities. Of course, almost all books branded the Barbarians as heretics, enemies not under the same sky as humans, who must be exterminated.
Meng Tuoluo patted Suo Lun’s face and said, "You silly fool, you’ve been brainwashed by the Dragon Temple, thinking that humans are the chosen race? That they are the most noble and powerful species in the world? Compared to the Barbarian Tribes, humans are overwhelmingly weak in martial strength. It’s only thanks to the Dragon Emperor unifying humanity and establishing civilization thousands of years ago that humans haven’t already become extinct."
Then, Meng Tuoluo pursed her lips and said, "Moreover, if it weren’t for the Barbarian Tribes being at odds with each other for thousands of years, which allowed the Human Kingdoms to defeat them one by one, how could humans possibly stand as equals to the Barbarians? They would have been annihilated hundreds of times by now, and without coming to the Barbaric Wilderness Continent, they wouldn’t realize how vast the world is and how insignificant humans are."
Suo Lun glanced at her and said, "Little Meng, you seem very anti-human."
Meng Tuoluo said, "I’ve always been anti-human, and you know it. Besides, if I weren’t, you would have died long ago."
Suo Lun said, "So the Barbarians identify each other by sniffing out energy auras, no wonder you made me drunk and unconscious throughout the journey, for a full seven days and nights."
Meng Tuoluo acknowledged, "That’s right. Because you were unconscious, my fellow Barbarians would simply think you’re a human captive I caught for a live skinning ritual. If you were awake and carefree, we would have encountered countless Barbarians along the way, and they would have skinned and eaten you not just once, but a hundred times over."
Instantly, Suo Lun shuddered with fear. He was fortunate to have found Meng Tuoluo; had he entered the Barbarian Domain alone, he wouldn’t have even crossed the Great Mountains before dying a hundred times over, becoming nothing more than Barbarian excrement.
"Wait, aren’t you also human, with Dragon Bloodline? Why would the Barbarians accept you?" Suo Lun asked.
"Because I consumed the Serpent Spirit Pearl, my energy aura has become identical to that of the Barbarians," Meng Tuoluo said provocatively: "Now, I am proudly one of the Barbarians."
This tone was just like some people who flaunt their United States green cards.
"Betrayer," Suo Lun spat out two words.
"Whatever you say," Meng Tuoluo responded before kissing Suo Lun and saying, "I’m returning to my tribe now. Ten days from now, at this time, I’ll come here to fetch you. I’ll only wait one day for you, oh, and if you don’t show up, I’ll assume you’re dead."
Suo Lun hurriedly made a mental note of this location, where he would wait for Meng Tuoluo to pick him up in ten days.
The spot was quite conspicuous: a huge tree with red leaves growing on a massive cliff, right in front of the gate to Blood Case Lost City.
It meant he had to return here within ten days, regardless of whether he found the Dragon Mark relics or not. Without Meng Tuoluo to lead him, he certainly wouldn’t be able to leave the Barbarian Domain alive.
"Alright, goodbye then. I wish you luck in finding the treasures," Meng Tuoluo waved her hand and then swiftly left on a giant beast, heading back to her Serpent Tribe, leaving Suo Lun deep in the Barbarian Domain.
Suo Lun roughly estimated that he was over four thousand miles from the Great Mountains and over seven thousand miles from Tianye City.
Before, Suo Lun worried that Meng Tuoluo would insist on searching for the Dragon Mark relics with him, and that she might get greedy and kill him to steal the treasures.
Unexpectedly, she just dusted off her hands and left, abandoning him in this dangerous territory thousands of miles away.
...
Suo Lun didn’t rush into the ruins of the Lost City; instead, he first determined the direction and committed the general outline of the Lost City to memory.
"Yao Xing, if we define the areas by beliefs, the Human Kingdom is the land of the dragon. Does that mean the Barbarian Domain is the land of the savage beasts?" Suo Lun asked.
"Not savage beasts, but the Demon Bloodline," Yao Xing replied. "Demons are the common totem for all Barbarians. Humans are descendants of dragons, and all Barbarians are the offspring of demons. However, there are no more dragons or demons left in this world."
Suo Lun asked, "So, is the Demon Bloodline the highest bloodline among the Barbarians?"
"Yes," Yao Xing confirmed. "However, the Demon Bloodline has been extinct for many years now. The Yaksha Tribe is considered to be a race that is somewhat closer to the Demon Bloodline."
Suo Lun asked, "Why can’t I find any of this in the royal archives of the Human Kingdom?"
Yao Xing answered, "Because the Holy Temple has destroyed most records about the Barbarians; they don’t want humans to know how powerful the Barbarians really are."
Suo Lun questioned, "This place is clearly within the Barbarian Domain, so why are there Dragon Mark relics here? This place is clearly demon territory."
Yao Xing explained, "This city once belonged to human civilization. However, it was destroyed by demons. Did you see that the lake in the center of the city is blood-red?"
"Yes!" Suo Lun confirmed.
Yao Xing continued, "That’s actual blood. When the descendants of demons conquered this city, they slaughtered every single person in the city at that lake. Millions of people’s blood turned the entire lake red, and throughout the countless years, the blood in this lake has always been there, never drying up, never vanishing."
Suo Lun’s voice trembled as he said, "So... you’re saying, the Human Kingdom was once destroyed? The Barbarians once annihilated humanity?"
