Chapter 1154: 518: Break through level 8 in one month!
Ominous person?
Nini’an’s heart skipped a beat when she heard this!
Constantine said, "When he lunged toward you back then, why didn’t you resist? You clearly knew that giving yourself to him was a huge mistake—a tremendous loss."
Nini’an fell into silence.
Constantine continued, "Did he drug you?"
Nini’an replied, "No, at that moment, I was completely unable to resist the impulses within me."
Constantine let out a sigh and said, "You still love him."
Nini’an nodded and said, "I really do love him. There’s a madness in him that captivates me. But after that madness burns out, I return to calmness once again and kill him with my own hands."
Constantine asked, "He didn’t resist?"
"No, neither time did he resist," Nini’an replied. "He said he was tired of living. His wife killed him before, and now I’ve killed him again. It’s all the same."
Constantine said, "He said he’d rather die with Dina and Suo Mo together than betray them?"
Nini’an nodded.
Constantine sighed and said, "There truly are people like this in the world, throwing everything away for the sake of love. What a fool."
Nini’an said nothing.
"You did the right thing. Better safe than sorry; you must not offend the Demon God." Constantine continued, "Give Lanling one month to duel with Du Yan. Let Du Yan kill him—that won’t count as offending the Demon God. Besides, that way, Suo Mo won’t blame us; they won’t risk everything to fight us."
Nini’an asked, "You still want to kill him?"
Constantine replied, "Do you think Lanling, after losing the duel to Du Yan, will compromise? Will he choose to break away from Suo Mo?"
Nini’an thought for a moment, then shook her head and said, "Impossible—he won’t compromise, and he won’t betray Suo Mo."
Constantine stated, "Exactly. So let Du Yan kill him. Meanwhile, I’ll immediately send someone to Rakshasa City to bribe the officials, and secure a marriage to make you a concubine to the young Barbarian King. Then find a female Shaman to restore your body to a virginal state."
Nini’an asked, "You truly won’t consider accepting Lanling?"
Constantine answered, "He is an ominous person. And should we compromise for him? Even if he loses to Du Yan, he still won’t betray Suo Mo. Then am I supposed to compromise with him? Willingly offer him my daughter in marriage and let him serve Suo Mo?"
Nini’an lowered her eyes and said, "Understood!"
Constantine walked out, entered the castle hall, and waved his hand toward Suo Mo and Dina, saying, "You may leave."
At once, Suo Mo exhaled deeply.
This ordeal was finally over.
Dina, however, showed little reaction and simply said to the little girl, "Yaya, it’s time for us to go home."
"Oh... Auntie, goodbye." The little girl waved her hand to Sisi, the second wife.
"Good girl..." Sisi kissed her rosy cheek and reluctantly let go.
The little girl ran toward Dina’s embrace with her little gryphon in tow.
Dina held her soft body tightly, greedily inhaling the scent that lingered on her.
This wasn’t even flesh of her flesh, yet after just over ten days together, she loved her so dearly. If she were to have a child of her own someday, Dina couldn’t even fathom the depth of love and care she would have.
Then, Dina thought about her own childhood.
The three of them—Dina and her parents—had fallen into molten lava. Her parents, protecting her, held her aloft above the lava until their deaths.
Suo Mo led Dina and little Yaya out of the Chieftain’s castle and back to the Foreign Tribe Army Camp.
Constantine lifted the curtain and saw Sisi’s reddened eyes.
He felt an overwhelming tenderness in his heart and said gently, "Darling, one day, we will have children of our own."
Sisi shook her head mournfully and said, "No, I was never meant to exist in this world. I am an aberration of the Snake Tribe; it’s impossible for me to bear children."
Then, she broke into heart-wrenching sobs!
...
Following Constantine’s command, the Chimera Tribe lifted the lockdown.
Tribal soldiers released their grip on the Foreign Tribe Army Camp, and most of the soldiers stationed at the tribal city walls retreated.
Seeing Suo Mo and Dina return safely to the camp, Du Yan’s face briefly twitched, and he let out a breath of relief. Yet his gaze instantly grew complex.
Du Yan’s thoughts were undeniably intricate.
He knew Chief Constantine intended to make a move against Suo Mo and Dina, which filled his heart with both unease and inexplicable excitement.
Because once Suo Mo was dead, Du Yan would become the chief leader of the Foreign Tribe Army. And if Lanling also died, then Nini’an’s husband would essentially be him, Du Yan. (Indeed, this was exactly what he thought.)
Of course, he wasn’t so cruel as to wish for Suo Mo’s death.
Regarding Suo Mo and Dina, he still had feelings for them.
Suo Mo had personally raised him, and he had grown up alongside Dina as childhood sweethearts. There was no way he could be devoid of affection.
That’s why he pleaded with Constantine on their behalf.
However, he only pleaded briefly—more like he was seeking inner peace rather than truly interceding.
He was painfully aware of what might unfold but chose to stick his head in the sand, pretending he knew nothing.
Now, seeing Suo Mo and Dina return safe and sound meant that Lanling wasn’t dead, which also meant Du Yan’s dreams of becoming the leader of the foreign tribe army were temporarily dashed.
In an instant, Du Yan was consumed by a deep sense of disappointment.
He felt as though he were no more than a clown, which in turn filled him with resentment.
"Godfather..." Du Yan called out.
Suo Mo had initially intended to ignore him but hesitated for a moment. Then, he patted Du Yan’s shoulder and said with a smile, "It’s late. Go back and rest."
