Chapter 1072: 487: Evil Genius!_3
A single meal could devour most families’ savings accumulated over several years.
It wasn’t that he intentionally indulged in luxury; he simply didn’t care, so he ate whatever was served.
But now, he had to eat such coarse food, and he wasn’t even full.
However, he merely furrowed his brows slightly and drank it all in one go.
Suo Mo immediately cast him an apologetic glance.
After breakfast, Suo Mo said, "Let’s go to the Chieftain’s castle on the mountain peak."
Lanling asked, "Aren’t we going straight to find that little freak, the Shaman?"
"He’s a freak; reasoning won’t work," Dina said. "His life was saved by my adoptive father, and he even served with the Foreign Tribe Army once. Yet, he’s the most ungrateful of all, constantly at odds with us."
This information left Lanling stunned. He hadn’t expected that the little freak Shaman was actually saved by Suo Mo and had been part of the Foreign Tribe Army.
Suo Mo waved his hand and said, "Enough, don’t talk about it. Let’s move."
The three left the military camp and headed toward the mountains.
Along the way, anyone who saw Suo Mo stopped whatever they were doing and stood stiffly to one side.
"Great Chieftain!"
"Big Brother!"
"Boss!"
Everyone looked at Suo Mo with not just admiration anymore; their expressions were utterly fanatical.
Contrary to what Lanling imagined, Suo Mo didn’t wave or nod back. Instead, he maintained a stone-cold expression.
Only when encountering injured soldiers would he nod slightly.
Anyone who received his nod instantly became so excited that their faces flushed, their movements stiff and trembling.
Like his father Suo Long, he was a commander who rarely joked or showed warmth.
Yet, he was someone every soldier trusted, admired, and relied on.
Their philosophy in life seemed identical: actions spoke louder than performances.
Suddenly, Lanling couldn’t help but say, "Father led troops this way too."
Suo Mo’s face trembled slightly upon hearing this.
As they wound their way up the mountain road, the houses on either side grew larger and taller, and the garments of the passersby became finer and richer.
In the Chimera Tribe, people of higher status lived higher up the mountain.
However, the disdainful glances aimed at Lanling and his companions also grew sharper.
"Hah! Lowly Foreign Tribe scum!"
"Filthy outsiders, why aren’t you staying in your pigpens? What are you doing up here?"
Some women exaggeratedly covered their noses and mouths, as if the presence of Suo Mo’s group polluted their air.
"Ever since these Foreign Tribe people arrived, the tribe’s feng shui has worsened. Even the spring water up the mountain has grown foul."
"I heard that Ah San’s son next door was born with three legs! Surely it’s these filthy outsiders bringing us calamities."
"My family’s pot went missing yesterday—must’ve been stolen by those mongrels."
"The Chieftain should burn all these Foreign Tribe mongrels alive; he should never have shown them mercy by allowing them to stay."
Suo Mo listened to these remarks without changing his expression.
But Dina was livid; her chest heaved with anger, and her eyes reddened.
All these people’s food and clothing were bought at the cost of the Foreign Tribe Army’s lives.
Every hunting expedition cost the Foreign Tribe Army several lives, and yet over ninety percent of the food they brought back was handed over.
They fought tooth and nail to let the Chimera Tribe live a life of fine clothes and meat, while they themselves lived in caves, eating half-rotten scraps.
And yet, rather than gratitude, all they received were scorn and hostility.
The feeling of living under someone else’s roof was truly unbearable.
Lanling couldn’t understand their words, but by the tone of their voices and their looks, he could easily guess what was being said.
Moreover, as they ascended, people continued to spit exaggeratedly near them.
"Hah!"
The humiliation was unparalleled. Lanling couldn’t fathom how Suo Mo managed to endure all these years.
They arrived at the grand castle gates.
Suddenly, a lavishly dressed middle-aged man rushed forward. Judging by his attire, his status in the Chimera Tribe was high.
"Hah..." He spat directly at Suo Mo’s face and snarled in a human tongue, "Lowly Near-Human scum, get out of our tribe."
Then, he swaggered away.
Suo Mo expressionlessly wiped the spit off his face.
The man returned to his wife and daughter after spitting, boasting to them while two graceful Demon Race women giggled charmingly.
Even his coquettish daughter cast a flirtatious glance at Lanling.
Beside him, Dina could barely restrain herself; she had almost struck out earlier but Suo Mo tightly gripped her wrist. Her nails had dug into her palm, drawing blood.
"Godfather," Dina croaked hoarsely, "sometimes I truly wish I could die, just to escape this humiliation."
Suo Mo said, "We’re not just enduring for ourselves; we’re doing it for the thousand lives behind us. We must bear it for them."
The three arrived at the massive castle’s entrance, and Suo Mo said, "Wait here—I’ll go request an audience with the Chieftain."
After Suo Mo left, Dina’s eyes turned red, almost brimming with tears.
"Lanling," Dina said through gritted teeth. "This is why I truly hate coming to the castle. I wish I didn’t have to set foot within the Chimera Tribe’s territory."
Then, she glared at Lanling with displeasure and barked, "When that man spat at Uncle, why didn’t you respond at all?"
"What kind of response?" Lanling asked. "Charge at him and beat him up?"
Dina said, "We came to the castle to meet the Chieftain and demand your daughter’s return. Godfather endured humiliation for your sake."
Lanling replied, "Yes, and what response would you like me to have?"
Dina said in disappointment, "You really have no conscience. At the very least, you should be angry."
"What good is anger? What we need is revenge," Lanling answered.
"Revenge?" Dina asked. "How will you get revenge?"
Lanling said, "Seduce his wife and daughter, sleep with them, and make him a cuckold. Tell me his wife and daughter’s movements, and I’ll act within the next two days."
Dina froze in shock and stammered, "You—you’re serious?"
"Of course," Lanling replied. "The moment he spat, I decided. I’ll ruin his wife and daughter, then use poison to destroy his manhood so he’ll never touch a woman again. His wife can cuckold him for the rest of his life."
Dina was speechless, staring at Lanling in a daze.
At that moment, Suo Mo returned and said, "Let’s go inside the castle and meet the Chieftain to reclaim your daughter."
