Chapter 196: 010: You’re dead.

Caesar Heim. Unlike William Heim, who defected from the White Wizard faction, Caesar Heim chose the Black Wizard faction from the very beginning.

In Caesar’s eyes, the orderly White Witch Domain was childish and laughable. Power was meant to be used, not shackled by some nonsensical chains of rules.

The unrestrained freedom to wield strength as one wished—the pure law of the jungle in the Black Witch Domain—was what he yearned for.

He came to the Blood Moon Battlefield with only one goal: to rewrite this rigid and stifling world and restore it to its original form!

Caesar sneered coldly, "Kid, I didn’t expect to run into you so soon! What terrible luck you have."

He barely knew William Heim; their relationship was merely one of shared bloodlines. But that didn’t stop him from venting his rage on Lynch—

"A member of the Haim Family, taken down by a peasant Muggle!"

The news had already spread among the Wizard Families, and Caesar had become the target of ridicule among other apprentices because of it.

A Muggle! A lowly Muggle!

How dare he!

"Crack, crack, crack!" A crisp series of cracking sounds echoed.

Caesar Heim’s body swelled rapidly, his bones expanding and his muscles bulging, tearing his cloak apart as he grew into a massive figure more than five meters tall.

On his enormous left shoulder, a fissure opened, revealing a grotesque red tongue with a long maw.

The previously somber apprentice had transformed in an instant into a twisted abomination.

Caesar Heim’s voice grew even deeper, rumbling audibly with each word: "When you claimed the reward, didn’t you think it strange? A reward of a hundred thousand Magic Stones, yet no apprentice dared to covet it. And you—a lowly peasant!"

"Die now!"

With those words, Caesar Heim launched the first strike against Lynch.

His mouth opened wide, and the long red tongue darted like a serpent, extending straight toward Lynch. The slimy surface of the tongue was littered with remnants of corrosive matter, and the pungent stench of decay was nauseating.

’Is this the organ of some high-level carrion-eating creature? A bloodline fusion too?’

The tongue piqued Lynch’s curiosity, so instead of killing Caesar immediately, he tapped the ground with his foot and retreated lightly to maintain a measured distance.

"Think you can escape?"

To Caesar Heim, this appeared as an act of cowardice, and he leaped forward with all his might, pouncing toward Lynch.

’Tsk tsk, that explosive speed—it’s almost at the level of a Great Knight.’

’But the muscle response feels off. The joints seem stiff during movement. The bloodline fusion work here is pretty crude. What a waste...’

While analyzing every detail, Lynch calmly evaded Caesar Heim’s strikes. At present, his attributes had reached the pinnacle of a High-level Knight.

Strength: 38.2, Agility: 38.6, Constitution: 38.1.

Even without using buffing magic, Caesar Heim couldn’t even dream of touching him with just his raw speed.

Of course, Lynch didn’t retreat too far either, maintaining a tantalizingly close distance to closely observe this monster.

"Damn brat, is running all you can do!?"

"Slick like an eel!"

"Let’s see where you run to now!"

After multiple failed attacks, Caesar Heim was visibly furious.

Lynch paid him no attention and calmly conjured a Fireball at his fingertips, hurling it toward Caesar Heim to test his defensive power.

"Boom!"

The Fireball exploded on Caesar Heim’s body, but the searing heat barely scorched his skin, leaving only a faint black mark.

’Impressive defense—easily around twenty or thirty degrees...’

Caesar Heim sneered, "That doesn’t even tickle!"

The massive mouth on his shoulder opened wide, spewing out a jet of black, blood-like liquid into the sky, which then cascaded down like raindrops.

The black rain appeared intensely corrosive. The moment it touched the surrounding trees, grass, and flowers, a continuous "sizzle" echoed out, as if the entire forest was melting.

"Let’s see where you hide now!" Caesar Heim sneered.

Lynch observed the rain falling from above. Dodging it entirely or shielding himself was effortless, but his curiosity about the liquid’s potency got the better of him. He merely shielded his vital areas while allowing the rain to fall on him.

The sound of sizzling intensified as the black rain corroded and burned through unprotected spots on his body. His skin and muscles rotted away, and even the bones beneath began to dissolve.

’Hiss~’

Despite casting a Paralysis spell to block his pain receptors, Lynch couldn’t help but feel a twinge of discomfort seeing the horrifying state of his injuries. The attack had clearly exceeded 30 degrees.

’No wonder he ranks on the Black Tower Alliance’s lists!’

Within the Black Tower, there was a leaderboard tracking the strength of apprentices in the Black Tower Alliance. According to Griss, Caesar Heim ranked high at the thirteenth spot.

While the list didn’t represent the entirety of the Black Tower Alliance, it was enough to establish Caesar Heim as one of the formidable forces within the Black Wizard faction.

"Run?"

Caesar Heim sneered, "Can you even escape?"

At this point, Lynch’s body was in tatters. His flesh had corroded to the point where parts of his skin and bones were barely holding on. To any observer, he was unmistakably on the verge of death—more dead than alive.

Feeling victorious, Caesar wasn’t in a hurry to kill Lynch. The thrill of tormenting prey on the brink of death was a twisted pleasure he deeply cherished.

Facing Caesar Heim’s grandstanding, Lynch remained silent as he raised one hand calmly.

"Retrospect!"

A warped clock-symbol floated behind him as a radiance enveloped his body.

In an instant, the tattered and corroded state of his body vanished. His mutilated flesh and bones regenerated, and he returned to his original state.

Over time, Lynch had honed the high-level apprentice spells he learned from Wizard Somda, mastering each to their max level.

At max level, the Retrospection Spell could rewind up to 80 degrees of damage and revert injuries within a 20-second timeframe. As long as the accumulated damage on his body didn’t exceed 80 degrees, he could undo any harm incurred in the past 20 seconds.

Caesar Heim’s smug smile froze.

"What the hell... is this?"

Even healing magic had its limits; apprentice-level healing spells always required a recovery period. What he had just witnessed—near-instantaneous regeneration—was beyond his comprehension.

Was this even an apprentice?

Before Caesar could snap out of his reverie, Lynch disappeared from where he stood and reappeared directly in front of Caesar, reaching out with startling speed.

Before Caesar could react, Lynch grabbed the grotesque red tongue and violently yanked it. A sickening tear echoed as the tongue was ripped clean off Caesar Heim’s body.

"Ahhh!!!"

Blood gushed uncontrollably from the giant mouth, and Caesar’s massive frame convulsed as if struck by lightning.

"Bastard! Bastard!"

Caesar roared wildly, his face twisted with rage and pain, swinging his enormous fists frenziedly at Lynch, desperate to crush him into pulp.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The Multi-element Shield surrounding Lynch flickered under the heavy blows, appearing close to collapse.

Yet Lynch remained unfazed, calmly storing the severed tongue into a container before snapping his fingers nonchalantly.

A crimson Magic Array suddenly flared to life beneath Caesar Heim’s feet. A black cross slowly emerged from it.

Caesar’s pupils constricted sharply. "No way..."

"Death Declaration!"

"Why do you have the Shadow Swamp’s Death Declaration?!"

His previous arrogance vanished completely, replaced by sheer terror.

Diego, another figure on the Black Tower Alliance’s leaderboard—ranked fifth—had reportedly mastered this technique.

The only thought left in Caesar Heim’s mind was to escape. Survival became his sole focus.

He turned and ran, as swift as a sprinting cheetah.

But by then, the black cross was fully formed.

"Clang, clang, clang!"

Black chains erupted from the cross and shot toward Caesar Heim, piercing through his scapula and thigh bones, dragging him back and binding him onto the cross.

Despite his immense strength, Caesar Heim couldn’t break free, as the chains anchored him firmly to the deathly structure.

A shadowy gray mist formed behind him, shaping into a hooded figure holding a scythe—a grim specter resembling the fabled Reaper.

"No... no..."

Fear overwhelmed Caesar’s voice. "You can’t... You can’t kill me! I’m from the Haim Family!"

"We..."

"We can negotiate—please, let’s talk this through!"

He begged pitifully.

But Lynch’s expression remained cold and indifferent. He calmly whispered the final spell:

"You are dead."
