Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 215: Show down

Chapter 215: Show down

Since the start of the tournament, the crowd had heavily cheered for Kane, but now, they cheered for Henry the most. Nevertheless, almost all the contestants were eliminated already, and now it was only remaining three including Henry and Kane, then another skilled man named, Ivory.

The host spread his arms wide and addressed the audience, "Our next competitors are, Lord Ivory and Lord Kane!"

Henry allowed himself to relax somewhat. The competition would be easier if Ivory or Kane were taken out, but he hoped to have the chance to take down Kane himself.

Kane brushed past Henry and then looked back to him, "little cat, watch how I deal with Ivory before you...After am done with you, I will take your whore of a sister to my bed as a reward."

Henry’s face hardened beneath his helmet. But he didn’t say anything and only watched the bull continued to speak with a malicious smile, "You hold false courage little cat_"

"And how about you shut that hole on your big face and let us settle the score in the arena instead of barking." Henry cut him off with his ice-cold voice, but Kane moved closer to him and whispered through clenched teeth, "Little cat, you are now one of my written enemies crafted in my bones. And after am done with you, I’ll go for the crown Prince and your sister. Only after I kill you first will I be at ease."

After saying that, Kane stepped back and headed back to the arena. Henry clenched his fist tightly, he wouldn’t have really cared if he lost, but with this, he couldn’t let Kane be. This was the main reason he didn’t want his sister getting married to any royal back then, one would make enemies even without ones knowledge.

Up in the royal stands, Ara watched as Kane and Ivory fought each other, they were both excellent warriors. Kane fought like a beast, just like his father. She hadn’t been able to kill Cornell in her past life even after years of training to avenge her family. He was skilled in every aspect of fighting, and it seemed like he’d passed that to his son as well.

Ara’s gaze traveled to the seats where Cornell sat, she saw Frederick whose face looked noticeably pale and gaunt in the daytime, and Merona who wore a strange expression as she watched the tournament. Her gaze then finally fell on Cornell, who looked down at the arena with a blank expression. Even though Kane had the upper hand, he didn’t seemed to show any signs of rejoicing.

Kane’s spear soon punched through Ivory’s armour, and blood spurted from his lips. Kane slightly tilted his head towards his father, and Ara noticed how Cornell shook his head as if in disapproval. She watched them secretly exchange glances, but had no idea what that was about.

One thing was sure here, Cornell coming to Findara wasn’t a good thing, especially when the timeframe her family was ruined and killed ruthlessly in her previous life was already approaching in this lifetime. And Hamon hadn’t even taken over the throne yet...

"Lord Kane is the winner!" The host announced loudly.

Ara, who was focused on the father and son exchange, suddenly felt a sharp pain pierced through her chest, "Ahh..." She clutched her chest and slightly bent over. Hamon, who had also been watching the match quickly turned towards her and grabbed her shoulders to examine her, "What’s wrong, my wife?" She heard the panic and worry in his voice, but the pain in her chest was too intense as if she had just been struck with the arrows all over again. She felt Hamon slightly shook her shoulders, however she couldn’t even focus on anything anymore. Even the loud voices of the crowd in the arena began to fade away.

She bit down on her lips to hold back her pained cry. This time Hamon grabbed her waist and turned her body to face him completely, "Ara, are you alright?" Thankfully this time she heard his voice clearly and the agonizing pain began to subdue as if it hadn’t been there, she breathed in a full lung of air to calm herself down. When she didn’t reply to Hamon, she suddenly felt his gentle touch on her chest above her breast where it hurt earlier. She lifted her head to meet his worried gaze,

"Is the wound hurting?" He asked concerned, "I think you need to go back home and rest. I’ll take you back myself." He said as he was about to stand, but Ara quickly grabbed his sleeve, "...No, I’m fine now. It’s just a small sting on my wound." She lied, because she didn’t want him to worry about her, moreover she wanted to stay and see the end of the tournament. She couldn’t leave when her brother was going to fight Kane.

His eyebrows furrowed, "Your reaction awhile ago doesn’t seem like a small sting. I don’t think you should stay here any longer_"

"It’s almost the finals already, I’ll see the physician when we get back home." For some reasons the thought of causing Hamon’s worry again seemed to hurt her more. She could sense his worry. Her wounds were already closed up, but she really didn’t know why such pain came earlier, even the bandages on her wounds was already taken off as the physician had said it no longer needed to be bandaged anymore. But what was this agonizing pain about?

Ara raised her hand and caressed his face to assure him, "it really doesn’t hurt."

Hamon stared at her doubtfully, he had seen how she clutched her chest earlier, and even looked like she’d cry out but held back. He also had no idea why the wound hadn’t gone completely when it wasn’t even supposed to leave a scar, wasn’t it supposed to magically disappear? He held back his protest, and nodded, "Alright, but you will see the physician immediately we return to our residence. And no more cheering at the top of your voice. Come here." He gently drew her shoulder so she could lean on him while they watched the match.
