Why do I have so many masters? -
Chapter 802 - 71: The Dongfang Clan's Most Outstanding Disciple (Two-in-One)
Xi Ming was brought to a large courtyard.
The gaunt man seemed quite polite to her. His own shoulder was injured, and he grabbed her arm with his right hand without using much force. Unfortunately, their line had fallen out of favor with the Dongfang Clan, and they didn't have martial arts skills, which made it still feel painful.
The girl's eyes were covered with a black cloth, and she could only try her best to raise her head, glancing sideways to catch a sliver of light.
Unaware of how long they had walked, the man suddenly ripped the black cloth from her eyes. They had reached a house, and with a sudden glance, she could see only a wooden door like a screen, painted in vermilion, looking like blood at first glance.
Xi Ming had been conserving her strength in secret all along the way, waiting for this opportunity. Once the black cloth was removed, she struggled fiercely, planted her heel, and used her forehead to slam into the man's injured shoulder.
Though she was subdued in an instant, the man was taken aback by her tenacity, allowing Xi Ming to turn around and look. Her wide black pupils reflected the moonlight, capturing the entire courtyard in her gaze.
At first glance, the courtyard seemed large and beautiful, with exquisite architecture showing care everywhere. She had only seen such buildings where the big figures of the Dongfang Clan lived. The moon was hanging at the tips of the willow branches, and further away, a tall building almost touched the sky, burning brightly.
She then realized in the next moment it wasn't a tall building but an exquisitely crafted lantern tower, with red lanterns lit on every level. The entire lantern tower seemed like a giant flame, and by its light, she could vaguely see the pavilions in the courtyard.
The pavilion was in the typical Jiangnan Road style, suspended on all four sides. A stone plaque hung above it. Before Xi Ming could see the words on the plaque, the wooden door of the house suddenly opened. A large hand reached out from inside, grabbing her collar roughly and pulling her in.
Xi Ming, without profound martial arts skills, had no ability to resist and was dragged inside. The man threw her heavily against a screen where she fell to the ground, feeling intense pain in many places, unable to get up for a moment.
The gaunt martial artist who had captured her was furious, stepped forward, and said:
"What are you doing?!"
He then intended to go before the screen to help Xi Ming up, but was stopped by the right hand of the martial artist who had struck earlier.
The man was a burly fellow, wearing a loose, dark blue outfit that failed to hide his large belly. His face was overgrown with a scraggly beard, like wild weeds growing out of the ground, extremely unkempt.
His gaze swept over the gaunt man's broken arm and with a cold laugh, he said:
"Chi Pengfei, what's going on with you? Aren't you always boasting of your superior martial arts, looking down on the likes of us? Today, bringing a girl over, how did you end up such a mess?"
Chi Pengfei's cheek muscle twitched, but he didn't respond, only said coldly:
"The superiors asked us to bring Miss Dongfang Ningxin here for an important task, Yang Hu. Aren't you afraid of punishment for treating a guest so carelessly?"
The burly man laughed heartily and said, "Punishment? Absurd. It's just a woman, nothing more. Once thrown onto the bed, naturally, she'll become obedient to her man."
"You women of the Southern Dynasty are mostly like this. I see this girl, though her body is not to my taste, is quite delicate, and as the legitimate heir of one of the Four Great Noble Clans, such a title makes playing with her all the more exciting!"
Chi Pengfei could hardly believe what this fat, big-eared man was saying. Was there only room for lust and blood in the brains of these grassland-born Manchus?
Yang Hu said a couple of sentences, his gaze falling on Xi Ming, who was barely supporting herself to stand, and he licked his thick red lips, chuckling sinisterly:
"Anyway, what the superiors want is what's in her head, not her body like a sacrificial offering. So what's the harm in letting someone else enjoy her body? You don't need to worry; I have my ways of taming her to be obedient."
"Being ordered to stay here these days, I've long pent up a fiery desire, with the women's voices outside teasing me to the brink of explosion; I should thank you for bringing her here, just in time to relieve the fire."
He said this while walking towards the screen, impatiently loosening his belt with his left hand, and reached out with his right hand towards the pale-faced Xi Ming. Anger flaring, Chi Pengfei stepped forward, directly kicking the fat pig aside.
The latter, caught off guard, was kicked several meters away, and as he got up, his eyes were murky and filled with malice.
Chi Pengfei stood a step in front of Xi Ming, holding a smaller crossbow in his right hand. Unlike the weapon used earlier, this crossbow held only one bolt, but the bolt's hue was different, resembling a flame, aimed straight at Yang Hu's forehead.
The murderous intent was icy, as if another step forward would open a hole in his skull with this bolt.
Yang Hu's face twisted, suppressing the fiery desire within, he sneered coldly:
"Fine, fine, fine, you're formidable, you're favored, I'll listen to you...
"But when we go back, I'll see how a cripple like you can protect anyone."
Chi Pengfei's expression was indifferent, remaining vigilant, standing protectively in front of Xi Ming, subtly adjusting his position with Yang Hu's movements. Xi Ming didn't understand; these two were supposed to be on the same side, but seeing them now, it seemed there was long-standing animosity that erupted suddenly today.
