Gekko: "All the Equip cards in my Graveyard, I summon them as monsters!"

This is a card Gekko uses in the manga. Armament Reincarnation plus Power Connection is his go-to combo for OTKs.

United We Stand landed a punch, shattering Apprentice Magician.

As expected, Kira's side triggered a floating golden light by its last will effect.

"Apprentice Magician's effect: when destroyed by battle, I set a Level 2 or lower Spellcaster from my deck in a face-down defense position. I set a second 'Apprentice Magician.'"

Gekko smiled.

"I still have three monsters left that haven't attacked. As long as one attack goes through, it's over."

Kira nodded: "That does seem to be the case."

"And you're not even nervous, meaning you still have something up your sleeve..." Gekko looked a bit excited and waved his hand to continue, "Then 'Jewel Sword,' attack the third 'Apprentice Magician.'"

The sword light fell, and the face-down monster was destroyed again. But another golden beam immediately shot out.

Kira: "This time, I set the DARK Attribute Level 2 'Old Vindictive Magician' face-down."

Gekko said: "'Axe of Despair,' attack!"

The energy humanoid wielding an axe swung down with immense force, splitting the face-down monster in two. Before exiting the field, the Old Vindictive Magician managed to swing his staff, shooting a cursed beam of light from it.

The cursed light pierced through the translucent energy humanoid, and the only equip monster on Gekko's field that hadn't yet attacked—Mage Power—was instantly shattered.

"You even managed to defend against all that... Impressive. Now I indeed have no monsters left to attack with."

Gekko drew two cards.

"Then I set two cards face-down and end my turn," he smiled slightly, "No wonder Yako holds you in such high regard."

"Then, at the end phase, I activate a set card: the Trap Card 'Balance of Judgment'," said Kira. "If the number of cards on your field exceeds the total of my hand and field, I draw cards from my deck equal to the difference."

Gekko: "I have four monsters and two set cards on my field."

"And I have two cards in my hand, and only 'Balance of Judgment' on my field," said Kira. "So, I draw three cards."

Kira drew three cards in one go, and the image of his backrow trap faded.

"Now it's my turn. Draw."

Kira drew again.

"I summon 'Disciple of Nephthys,' Defense Position."

"Disciple of Nephthys' effect: Once per turn, I can destroy a card in my hand to add a 'Nephthys' monster except itself from my deck to my hand.

So, I destroy a card in my hand to add 'Chronicler of Nephthys' from my deck to my hand."

After searching his deck, Kira played two more cards.

"Then I set two cards and end my turn."

"Going for a more defensive setup?"

Gekko glanced at his opponent's backrow, then at the Nephthys in defense.

He had destroyed a card in hand to search.

Gekko pondered.

"My turn. Draw," Gekko said. "I activate the Spell Card 'Pot of Greed' to draw two more cards."

Gekko frowned slightly. There was some defensive trick in the opponent's backrow, but he currently had no cards to remove them.

As a duelist, he could only attack boldly at this moment.

"Battle!" Gekko declared. "First, 'United We Stand,' attack 'Chronicler of Nephthys!'"

Last turn, Power Connection's effect only lasted one turn, and now there are only four monsters on the field. United We Stand's effect is now 4 × 800 = 3200 ATK increase.

Adding its base 500 ATK, its ATK is now 3700.
