Who Let Him Cultivate?! -
Chapter 1137 - 1136: Soybean Dynasty Ancestral Temple
Lu Yang and Fairy Eternity's consciousness had returned to Buddha Country at the same time.
"Hm? Where is this?"
Lu Yang found himself in a dilapidated temple, sitting cross-legged on a lotus platform, fingers posed like a lotus flower, almost resembling a Buddha statue.
Outside, there was the steady drizzle of rain.
"Ah, has the Young Sect Master awoken?" Jin Caiwei had been staying by Lu Yang's side. Realizing that Lu Yang had finally awoken, she went out to call back the other women.
Lu Yang was a bit confused. He dimly remembered being summoned away by Man Gu three days ago, just when he had arrived in Buddha Country, surrounded by a desert. It had only been three days, so how had he been moved to a temple?
And which temple was this?
"Are you awake?"
"Oh, this temple is quite interesting." Fairy Eternity floated out, curiously inspecting the temple; the person who had built this temple had quite some ideas.
"Has the Second-in-command awoken?"
"Is Immortal Sister back as well?"
"Greetings to the lord on your return."
The women had waited for three days and finally, both Fairy Eternity and Lu Yang had awoken.
"Third Boss, was it you who built this temple?" Fairy Eternity asked with a smile. Lu Yang was inexperienced and couldn't tell, but she had immediately noticed something unique about the temple.
Yun Mengmeng chuckled sheepishly, "Well, it wasn't just my idea alone. The Chief Housekeeper and Second-in-command left without saying when they'd return, and we couldn't just keep the bosses standing in the desert forever. We thought about entering the city, but with so many of us and since you always say we should keep a low profile when out, we decided to just build a temple right here to shelter us from the wind and rain."
"Then I suggested that since we were building a temple, why not build it out of delicious ingredients."
As she spoke, Yun Mengmeng walked up to Lu Yang, plucked a piece of the lotus he was sitting on, and put it in his mouth.
"Second-in-command, try this, isn't it delicious?"
Lu Yang subconsciously took a bite and was surprised to find that the lotus was incredibly tasty, although he had no idea what it was made of.
"This isn't lotus, is it? It's a leaf from the Eternal Life Spiritual Fruit, right?" asked Fairy Eternity.
"Reporting to the lord, yes," said Qinghe. The leaves were cultivated from the Longevity Dao Fruit Embryo, barely distinguishable from immortal objects, and too precious to be valued with Spirit Stones.
"These windows are made of flat Spirit Fruits!" Jin Caiwei excitedly added. She had put quite an effort into building the temple.
"The lamp oil is honey I brought from Demon Territory."
"…So this whole temple is edible?"
Lu Yang finally understood why Fairy Eternity had praised the temple's unique construction—it truly was unique, functioning as both shelter and food.
"It's raining outside, right? Is the temple going to be okay?" Judging from the sound, it was raining heavily outside.
"No worries, the materials we used to build the temple are all waterproof!" Yun Mengmeng confidently said. Their main goal in building the temple was indeed to provide shelter from the rain and wind, so how could it possibly be affected by the rain.
"Is it not completed yet? Some parts still look broken. If it's not finished, I can help."
Lu Yang pointed to a part of a wall with a small hole in it.
Jin Caiwei cautiously raised her hand, "That was where I ate from."
"…"
So you guys were building and eating at the same time?
Yun Mengmeng, grinning, took Fairy Eternity and Lu Yang by the hands and led them outside the temple.
"Look, this is the name everyone came up with for the temple."
The plaque above read, "Soybean Temple," the characters exceptionally eye-catching.
"This temple is indeed nicely built, let's just treat it as the ancestral temple of our Great Bean Dynasty," Fairy Eternity suggested. Every dynasty had built ancestral temples, and though their Great Bean Dynasty was new, sooner or later, they would need one too.
Everyone except Lu Yang was delighted, which meant that Immortal Fairy had definitely approved of their three days of labor.
The Great Bean Dynasty finally had a foothold in the real world.
Lu Yang felt that the construction of the Ancestral Temple was indescribable, but since everyone agreed, he, as an Immortal, felt it inappropriate to comment further.
"I'll also lend a hand to perfect our Ancestral Temple."
"Here I establish the [Rule: Refurbishing the Great Bean Dynasty Ancestral Temple]."
In Buddha Country, using his Immortal Body to set down rules was a thousand times easier than at the Seek Dao Sect. Buddha Country truly was a wonderful place.
Countless golden Power of Faith emerged, transforming into food to fill the gaps in the Ancestral Temple.
In the blink of an eye, the Ancestral Temple was as good as new, just like when it was first built.
Jin Caiwei, curious, had a taste of the repaired part and shook her head, "Young Sect Master, this won't do; the food produced by the power of rules lacks soul."
"I'd like to try too." Yun Mengmeng, Qinghe, and the others came forward to taste it, all feeling it wasn't as delicious as what they had made.
"Little Yang, you need to have a respectful heart toward food," Immortal Fairy also came out to point out the flaws in Lu Yang's thinking.
Lu Yang: "…"
I'm sorry I was wrong. May I try practicing the power of rules in another way?
Out of respect for food, Lu Yang withdrew the power of the rules and reverted the Ancestral Temple to its dilapidated state.
"Someone's coming."
Suddenly, Lu Yang spoke as he released his Immortal Sense to perceive the world and detected a group of people rushing this way, all mortals, seemingly seeking shelter from the rain.
"Hurry, hide."
Everyone slipped into the temple, either sitting or standing on the Lotus Platform, altering their appearances to mimic Buddha or Bodhisattva figures.
"Uncle Wang, there's a temple here, let's take shelter from the rain!"
A hurried group arrived, overjoyed to see the temple.
"Strange, when did a temple appear here?" Uncle Wang stood outside, feeling something was amiss.
"Soybean Temple, I've never heard of such a place."
"Let's just hurry inside."
If the rain kept pouring, they'd surely catch a cold, making it troublesome to continue their journey.
They rushed into the temple, finding it rundown but still good enough to shelter them from the wind and rain.
"Phew—survival."
They unloaded their luggage and checked for any wet spots, stripping off clothes to dry them.
"Which Buddha is this?" They grew curious about the temple during their downtime and didn't recognize any of the Buddha or Bodhisattva statues, but all the statues were dignified, inspiring awe.
"Look at this little Bodhisattva, so small."
Referencing Jin Caiwei.
"Silence, maintain devotion, do not be disrespectful!" Uncle Wang scolded everyone, leading them to kneel before each statue of Buddha and Bodhisattva, thanking them for providing shelter from the rain.
Finally, Uncle Wang took out a bag of Spirit Stones, not many but still a sign of goodwill, and placed it at the feet of a Buddha statue inside a Merit Box.
"Uncle Wang, aren't those the Spirit Stones you picked up from the grave yesterday? Why give them to a Buddha statue?" a fellow traveler asked, puzzled.
Uncle Wang sighed deeply, reflecting, "Yesterday I found this bag of Spirit Stones, and today we encountered a temple. Where in the world does such a coincidence occur? It's fate. These Spirit Stones shouldn't belong to me; they should be donated to the temple."
After the rain cleared, Uncle Wang and others led their horses away from the temple.
Lu Yang hopped down from the Lotus Platform, looking at the Merit Box below his feet with a strange expression, sensing that this bag of Spirit Stones had formed a connection with his lifespan.
"How come this looks so much like life-purchasing money?"
